Stand strong, Guardian.
Takiraah is a story/worldbuilding project by Teeteegone that tells the story of a future in which humanity has undergone a 'hard reboot', and now re-colonises the stars, all the while discovering truths and remnants of their ancestors, and not all of it is all-that-pleasant. The story centers around various characters from a variety of backgrounds across thousands of years.

The story is currently readable through it's own wiki.

Due to the long periods of time the story takes place over, vastly different settings are covered which contain many different tropes, as such, the some tropes are sorted by time period.

Takiraah as a whole contains examples of:

  • Ambiguous Robots: The Sirone, which while appearing mostly synthetic, have a distinctly organic nature about them, making it ambiguous as to which they truly are. This ambiguity plays a significant role in what their true purpose in life is.
  • Ancient Conspiracy: The Terran Empire puts this into place and it influences the eventual direction of the Takiruun civilisation.
  • Earth That Was: For the majority of storylines, humanity has been absent from Earth for thousands of years.
  • Lost Technology: Technology from civilisations long past is constantly being discovered.
  • Magic from Technology: The Soratic Takiruun possess supernatural powers mistaken for magic as a result of genetic and cybernetic alterations.

Takiraah's separate time periods contain examples of:

    Terran Era
  • Downer Ending: The Terran Era concludes with almost all intelligent life being wiped from the galaxy, with the exception of the remnants of humanity.
  • Fling a Light into the Future: Many artefacts from this time will have a significant effect on the development of the Takiruun thousands of years later.
  • Happily Ever Before: Galactic society prior to the Conflict is often described as utopian.
  • Humans Are the Real Monsters: Amidst a galaxy of various alien races, all are united in a distaste for humanity following the Conflict.
  • Precursors: The Outriders: Enigmatic beings from millions of years ago who left behind a fair bit of Lost Technology.

    Post-Conflict Era
  • After the End: With the only surviving faction having departed the galaxy, the remnant of humanity and other races are left to wait out the rest of their days in a dark galaxy with little hope of survival into the future.
  • Crapsack World: Following the Conflict, almost every world in the galaxy that was once inhabited now lies in desolate ruin.
  • Hopeless War: Remnant factions of various governments still fight each other, despite both sides being almost completely dilapidated.

    Takdera Period
  • Fantasy Gun Control: Though explosives exist, the presence of Takitric abilities has delayed the development of firearms.
  • Functional Magic: The Soratics all possess some kind of latent magical potential which is very, very real.
  • Magic from Technology: Unbeknownst to them at this time, Soratics possess supernatural powers mistaken for magic as a result of genetic and cybernetic alterations millennia prior.

    Takiruun Era
  • Depopulation Bomb: The weapon that devastates Takiraah kills a significant fraction of the planet's population.
  • Lost Technology: The Takiruun are able to reverse-engineer a fair bit of Terran technology to get it working again.
