Shuriken Rantō Cryptoverse, literally Shuriken Brawl Cryptoverse, is a Japanese webcomic (or webmanga) series created by Fujima Kunisada (known as 36u6soa). Since its debut on February 6, 2021, new chapters are released every Saturday in Japanese, and every Sunday for the English version.

Enthusiastic Koji is a 12-year-old boy, who has what it takes to become a Crystal Brawler. Though not as much as the others. But once he applies for Crystal Brawlers middle school, he discovers that fusing with Crystal Monsters can give students supernatural powers. Although catching up to become a Master Champion seems afar, he does whatever it takes to reach his goal.

This Webcomic provides examples of:

  • All Men Are Perverts: Saburo Shinchiro is a shameless pervert throughout the series.
  • Crush Blush: Especially in her debut, Aoha Atashino does this when speaking to Koji sometimes.
  • Elemental Powers: There are 20 elemental types of Crystal Monsters in this series: Fire, Water, Grass, Electric, Ice, Steel, Shuriken, Physical, Ground, Ghost, Dark, Dragon, Flying, Rock, Toxic, Rainbow, Fairy, Music, Psychic, Spell
  • Fusion Dance: One of the main tropes of the series, where a lot of characters fuse with Crystal Monsters in order to work together to fight with supernatural powers. In order for a fusion to work, the Crystal Brawler must raise his fist, where the Crystalrist is, in the air, and say "Merge" in order for it to work.
  • Kid Hero: Majority of the cast, which are students as well, are stated to be 12-13 years old.
  • Superhero School: One of the main settings of the series, it is called Crystal Brawlers Junior High, a junior high school where students are able to merge with Crystal Monsters to get superpowers.
  • Power Dyes Your Hair: The majority of Crystal Brawlers experience a change in hair color whenever they merge with a Crystal Monster or transform, depending on the type of Crystal Monster they merge with.
  • Officially Shortened Title: It's just named Cryptoverse in the Webtoons Version of the series.
  • Anime Hair: Koji, Saburo, and some other characters with hair "rising up".
  • Super Wrist-Gadget: Every Crystal Brawler uses a Crystalrist , and yells out "Merge!" to activate the fusion.
  • Elemental Rivalry: Koji Kiyoshi (Shuriken), and Shinju Kumiko (Dark).
  • Our Monsters Are Weird: Many of the Crystal Monsters are based on real-life animals, in which in case they have weird features. For an example, Roaracryst is a spider with 4 legs instead of 8.
  • Childhood Friends: Natsumi Aihara and Aoha Atashino, since kindergarten.
  • From Zero to Hero: At first, Koji doesn't have any elements. Not until he met Roaracryst to take down Darkslash.
  • Rescue Introduction: In her first appearance, during the school's simulation, Sora Nijiko was very low on power, but Koji eliminated an enemy for her.
  • Love Bubbles: This is constantly used whenever two characters have a romantic moment together, or one character has a crush on another. An example: Aoha when she sees Koji.
  • Say It with Hearts: Aoha does this occasionally to Koji.
  • Idiosyncratic Episode Naming: "Brawl" is used in some English scanlations.
