Christopher Alan Kirkpatrick (born October 17, 1971) is an American singer, dancer, songwriter, music producer, and occasional actor. He is best known as the founding member of boy band *NSYNC. Kirkpatrick originally connected with Lou Pearlman, the man behind the Backstreet Boys, to form another boy band. Kirkpatrick then linked up with Justin Timberlake, and the rest is history. Kirkpatrick provided the falsetto vocals to complete the band’s signature five-part harmonies. His braided hair also became a staple of boy band parodies. Kirkpatrick provided the voice for the character Chip Skylark on the animated series The Fairly OddParents!. He continues to perform with other acts and as part of *NSYNC tribute performances.

Chris Kirkpatrick provides examples of:

  • Adam Westing: Takes ribs in stride. For instance, Chris said he wasn’t peeved about Eminem taking a dig at him by name in the song “Without Me."
  • Butt-Monkey: Chris's NSYNC bandmate Justin Timberlake has clowned on him and the rest of the group in an SNL sketch, with the gag being that Timberlake doesn't want to remember his boy band days.
  • Odd Friendship: Chris was and is close with Justin, who is ten years younger than Chris.
  • Plucky Comic Relief
  • The Prankster
  • Sheathe Your Sword: Eminem notably included the line "Chris Kirkpatrick, you can get your ass kicked" in his song "Without Me" because Kirkpatrick supposedly criticized Eminem's controversial image. After the song's release, Kirkpatrick was conciliatory towards Eminem and pokes fun at the jab to this day (ironically, the two also share a birthday).
When you listen to the album, if you know good music, if you know, you know, he's very lyrically talented and he writes a lot of great stuff. I love it. I sing it in my head or out loud when I'm in my car making fun of myself. And you know, it's just funny to me that he talks about us, because you know, here I am, yelling in my car.
  • Supergroup: Was on VH1’s Mission Manband. Took part in performances with members of Backstreet Boys and Boyz II Men, and participated in an ABC's boy band-themed Christmas special in 2021.
