No, this is not the trope.
Save the Princess is a series of uncommon adventure comics first seen in the Video Games board of the infamous 4chan. A bumbling Idiot Hero, usually going by the name of Anon or Hero must save a princess from an enemy. Players must have the ending digit on their post number be equal to one of the GET Numbers (usually 7, 8, and 9) in order for the story to progress. Because of this, things can get out of hand very fast. Most stories are notorious for their participators making the artist create Fanservice, usually to either the delight or anger of the others.
Specific stories include:
- Save the Castlevania Princess (done on /v/): The Hero, along with his mother who happens to be a succubus, must save a vampire princess from a dragon with three Moral Guardian heads.
- Save the Princess (done on /v/): The hero attempts to fight a demon woman, but ends up becoming a monster and assimilating everything.
- Save the Princess (done on /qst/): The hero attempts to help a janitor rescue the princess after trying to snipe her, which only ends up getting him rejected by her at the end of it all.
- Save the Viva Pinata Princess (done on /qst/): The hero searches the land to get a wand for a witch named Candy, ends up creating a Rag Tag Bunch Of Misfits, and then betrays said witch, causing them to have to work together, as they are forced to fight four magicians.
Tropes include:
- Butt-Monkey: Good lord, for a hero, this guy gets nearly zero respect in Save the Viva Pinata Princess. The Princess rejects him because of him "not saving her the way she wanted him to", and then is tossed into the arena, where he's mocked and turned into a bunch of nonsensical things for no reason other than him letting it all out.
- Golden Snitch: Getting triple digits plus a GET Number instantly gives the best results.
- Luck-Based Mission: Viva Pinata Princess revolves around the story advancing from not only the GET Numbers, but also dice rolls, leading to points where people have managed to roll a one.
- Super-Empowering: Near the end of Viva Pinata Princess, the five High Wizards fuse together to form a giant wizard, which is the last one the heroes must fight.
- The Many Deaths of You: Anon's injuries and transformations may count up to double digits by now.
