The main trio.

PMD: The Rogue Team is a fan made Pokémon Mystery Dungeon webcomic loosely based off Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon. It is drawn and written by Teeterglance.

A human girl named Erin awakens in the pokemon world, now turned into a fennekin with no memory of her past. After meeting Tabor, a strange smiling treecko, she agrees to join his Rogue team in exchange for help to recover her lost memories. With the aid of a Dungeon Master froakie, they aim to become the most rich and famous rogue team, all while an unseen evil force threatens the pokemon world.

It can be read on the ComicFury website page here, or the author's DeviantArt here.

PMD: The Rogue Team contains examples of:

  • Adaptational Villainy: Tabor the treecko is the main character's partner. However, expressing delight in his enemy's misery and smiling sinisterly at a drowning stranger indicate Tabor's inclination to wickedness - a stark contrast to the Partner from Super Mystery Dungeon, who was only rabumctious and immature, but had their heart in the right place.
  • Affectionate Gesture to the Head: In an effort to reassure Erin, Tabor gives her head pats. Due to his dubious nature, it's unclear how genuine this gesture is.
  • All There in the Manual: The cast page contains additional information on the characters, including nature and age group. Minor characters like Milton the ditto, who otherwise are only called by nicknames, also have their real names listed.
  • Amnesiac Hero: Aside from her name, Erin lost all memories about her past human self.
  • Amusing Injuries: Tabor's face might as well have a ring target over it.
  • Bridal Carry: Chapter 2's cover has Tabor carrying Erin in his arms while going down the stairs.
  • Cassandra Truth: Despite Erin showing signs that she's not a pokemon and outright saying so, Tabor still doesn't believe her claims that she's actually a human. He includes her whenever he talks about pokemonkind.
Tabor: C'mon, Red, don't make that face. You're a pokemon. Battling is in your blood.
    Erin: I-I'm not...
  • Eldritch Location: Like the games it was inspired by, mystery dungeons in this comic change their layout every time they're entered, looking like unnatural mazes. Unlike the games, dungeons spontaneously popped up, taking over some natural environments. Pokemon that refused to leave the mutated land for other safe natural areas slowly turned savage, with the dungeons eventually causing their extinction. In present time, all dungeon pokemon were replaced with illusory copies.
  • Forced Transformation: Originally a human, Erin wakes up in the pokemon world transformed into a fennekin.
  • How Do I Shot Web?: Erin doesn't know how use attacks appropriate for her fennekin species, resorting to throwing punches instead.
  • Luminescent Blush: Happens often enough to Erin that it's an almost permanent feature.
  • Nervous Wreck: Erin. While she can keep a level head when focused, she's quick to panic when scared. Regular pokemon interaction also leaves her a stuttering mess.
  • The Nicknamer: Upon learning Erin's name, Tabor pointedly ignores it and refers to her as "Red" .
  • On the Next: The last page of Chapter 1 features a preview for the next chapter, complete with future panels and dialogue between the protagonists. Erin's introduction and the format used is also reminiscent of anime.
  • Magically Inept Fighter: "Pinky" the ditto cannot use Transform, the only move a ditto can learn. He makes up for it by changing his body shape into a machamp's, fighting with powerful regular attacks.
  • Perpetual Smiler: Though it sometimes disappears, Tabor has a wide grin on his face that he keeps on for the majority of time.
  • Pokémon Speak: Unless transformed into another pokemon, the ditto species can only speak like this.
  • Quest for Identity: After awakening in the pokemon world without any memories, Erin's major goal is uncovering her forgotten past.
  • Sink or Swim Mentor: Tabor takes on this role to Erin. Instead of rescuing her from an enemy ursaring, he lets it chase her and encourages her to fight it on her own, only stepping in when she's completely cornered.
  • There Is Only One Bed: Subverted. Tabor mentions having only one hay bed that he and Erin would have to share, but he only says that to tease her. He gives Erin the bed and sleeps in a leaf hammock instead.
  • Villain Protagonist: The story follows a morally questionable treecko and his former human partner in their quest to become a successful Rogue team.
  • Waking Up Elsewhere: Happened twice in Chapter 1, "A Rude Awakening". The protagonist Erin first awakens inside of a bubble, which is in the bottom of a lake. After drowning, she later wakes up on dry land, only to meet Tabor's deranged face and punch him out of shock.
