You, who have achieved everything, but far too soon.
Your price to pay for my knowledge is this:
I shall eradicate every one of you.
Out of kindness.
And sadness.

Floraverse is an Urban Fantasy Furry Webcomic by glitchedpuppet (also known for PMD-Explorers) that sports a large cast of vibrant and diverse creatures all living in a world rich with both magic and technology. The story is rather complex, spanning various forms of media beyond the webcomic itself. The main storyline, known as "Seeds", generally involves the journey of Min (a "pygmy pyzky") and Cress (a "frostdrop") to get the eponymous seeds to where they need to be and save their home, running into various allies and adversaries along the way.

Tropes found in Floraverse:

  • Absurdly Sharp Blade: The "Sharptastic Blade", made with "space-age technology" and is being sold by a salesman who Cayenne clearly notes is a hanged man.
  • All There in the Manual: Floraverse is a transmedia story that is told within the webcomic, as well as games, written stories, visual novels, and roleplay. Without playing Lunar Depot 38, you'd never learn the origin of Andre or that the Angels have a fatal allergy to paint.
  • Ambiguously Human: The civilization seen in the prologue to "Seeds". They appear to be humanoid, but we never get enough visual clarity to make a full conclusion.
  • Blob Monster: Cress is "frostdrop", a creature made out of blue goop that can change into different shapes.
  • Dig Your Own Grave: Done by Min on a beach in Polaris, after being temporarily abandoned by Cress.
  • Ears as Hair: Ceyenne apparently sees no problem with wearing his many ears as hair, even putting them into a bun. He doesn't like it when you call them a "spider mop" though.
  • Hotter and Sexier: Forbidden Flora is an NSFW sidecomic that explores the sex life of the cast in the background of the main story.
  • Law of Cartographical Elegance: The Citrico Archipelago is specifically designed to look like a bunch of fruit when viewed on a map. Additionally, the continent of Owel resembles the shape of an owl, and the continent of Eastar resembles the shape of a rabbit, with a collection of eggs nearby.
  • Mind Screw: In a nutshell, Floraverse consists of two different stories; the high-fantasy play, and the Eldritch Abomination actors angsting over getting it wrong. Plotholes and pitfall endings cause cutesy-looking monster protagonists to turn into Lovecraftian horrors with an equally titanic depression streak. Over time, the author's avatars develop a sense of sanity and optimism to get the actors back on track.
  • The Place: The comic is named after the Floraverse, the main setting of the series.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Several characters are named after demons from Ars Goetia, including Furfur, Beleth, Orobas, and Amdusias.
    • Many of the designs also take cues from Pokémon characters. Min and Cress were confirmed to be based on Celebi and Manaphy, respectively.
  • Odd Friendship: Somehow, Min is friends with Cress despite having aquaphobia. As stated in the character profiles, it's like having a giant spider as a friend if you're arachnophobic.
  • Interspecies Romance: Imps are able to change their physiology over time, and may reproduce with practically any species regardless of biological class or reproductive organs.
