Fillbert
is a comedy webcomic started in 2021. It uniquely primarily uses the Scalable Vector Graphics image format. It features recurring characters Fillbert "the Empty Space Cat", Vivi the author, yellow speech bubbles, and some people the author knows.
Fillbert contains examples of:
- 555: 1-800-555-0142 is the number in an ad on a math worksheet.
- Author Avatar: Vivi is the creator of Fillbert and has the same name as the author.
- Cast Full of Gay: Most of the cast is asexual. Fillbert is additionally non-binary and aromantic, and Vivi and Willow were in a lesbian relationship until the 2022-W10 comic.
- Cat Girl: Willow has cat ears and a tail.
- Character Title: Fillbert is a character.
- Fantastic Fireworks: The "20 years of SVG" comic includes fireworks shaped like Fillbert and fireworks shaped like an SVG logo.
- Funny Animal: Fillbert, a cat, is hired for multiple jobs, and at one point says they don't do catlike things while updating their resumé.
- High-School Dance: Willow asks Vivi to Prom 2022.
Fillbert asks to go with them. Subverted when none of the three know what Prom is. - Identical Panel Gag: The same panel is used twice in a comic where Fillbert watches Vivi do schoolwork.
- Mega Neko: Fillbert the cat can grow at will; in one comic they grow so much they're mistaken for a planet.
- Motion Comic: Some of the comics use SVG animation.
- No Fourth Wall: Comics include investigating whether the comic is a furry comic, looking at the comic's schedule, and asking readers to donate.
- Noir Episode: In the "Dial F for Furrbert" arc, Fillbert becomes a monologuing detective, while several characters get an outfit change and become partially or fully greyscale.
- Press Hat: Maple wears one during the Noir Episode.
- Private Eye Monologue: When Fillbert becomes a detective, their use of similes is Zig Zagged:Fillbert: [monologuing] It was a dark morning. As dark as the fate of the temporary sealant industry.
This dame's hair had as many curls as a spring factory, in the season.
She wore a scarf as dark as the fate of the temporary sealant industry wasn't.
And her dress was green. - School of No Studying: Lampshaded when school-age Vivi is shown doing schoolwork, with Fillbert watching enthusiastically as nothing happens.

- The "Planet of the Aces" poster is one letter off from Planet of the Apes, and features an actor named Rod McDowel, a pun on Roddy McDowall who played Cornelius in Planet of the Apes.

- Speech Bubbles: Most speech bubbles are black text on a white background. Fabian's speech bubbles are white text on a black background; he chose this because the default was too bright for him. Black text on yellow rectangles are a character.
- String Theory: Vivi connects a wall of sticky notes with strings when trying to comprehend sexual attraction.
- Tinfoil Hat: Exaggerated: Tinfoil hats spontaneously appear on Vivi's head when she claims sexual attraction and functional families are myths.
- The Transmogrifier: An inexplicable villainous egg who can transform others shows up.
- Transformation Sequence: Maple's hair is transformed in a 4-panel sequence.

- Characters' eyes sometimes become Ʌs or > <.
- Parodied when Vivi and Willow are horrified by their eyes becoming hearts.
