Go To

Fei Ren Zai (非人哉, Fēi Rén Zāi), also known as Myth of Chinese Monsters, is a Chinese webcomic written and drawn by Lingzi where a group of Chinese mythological figures live in modern day China and try to adjust to the world around them. It shares a universe with Lingzi's other supernatural sitcom All Saints Street.

It received an animated adaptation on March 29th, 2018, by Fenz, the same studio that animated All Saints Street and Valoran Town.

Tropes associated with Fei Ren Zai:

  • Innocent Innuendo: In Chapter 4, Jiu Yue sticks her head into Ao Lie's throat to see how he can spit out so much water. Xiao Yu walks by as she's doing this and mistakes it for "deep-throat play".
  • Shared Universe: With the comic All Saints Street, another supernatural webcomic set in modern China.
  • Slice of Life: Fantastic it may be, but it's normal everyday faire for the lot of them.
  • Shout-Out: The Halloween costume in the original webcomic looks familiar. This was changed in the Donghua.
