Ayuri is an occasionally NSFW Science Fiction Web Comic by Jacob Jones. It follows the crew of the private starship Ayuri, having been recently hired by Captain Wanda Otis.
It can be read here.
Ayuri provides examples of:
- All There in the Manual: Fenna's status as a Puppeteer Parasite, and dobeks serving as her species' host, are stated on her character page.
- Arcology: The comic starts with the characters in one.
- Born as an Adult: Kay is constructed full-grown.
- Cast Full of Gay: All characters shown to be in relationships so far are lesbians.
- Cat Folk: Saye, leading to some discomfort when her girlfriend gets a pet cat.
- Furry Confusion: Cats make Saye uncomfortable.
- Interspecies Romance: Two couples: Tanja (human) and Saye (Cat Folk), and Wanda (human) and Fenna (Puppeteer Parasite).
- Naked on Arrival: When building Kay, the crew neglects to clothe her.
- Naked People Are Funny: Dobeks, a domesticated species of non-sapient humanoid. Like most pets, they wear a collar at most, making some humans uncomfortable.
- Name From Another Species: Fenna Otis, due to her marriage to Wanda.
- Puppeteer Parasite: Fenna is a sympathetic version, with a non-sapient host.
- Ridiculously Human Robot: Kay's first action after booting up is to feel awkward about being naked.
- Robot Girl: Aside from being made of plastic, Kay seems like an ordinary human woman.
- Rubber-Forehead Aliens: Dobeks, which are domesticated humanoids with the intelligence (and fashion sense) of a dog.
- Science Fiction
- Shameless Fanservice Girl: Kay feels the need to buy clothing when she finds she doesn't have any, but doesn't mind doing so naked.
- Speech-Bubble Censoring: Accidentally used in one strip due to poor planning, for which the author apologizes in The Rant. This was supposed to be the first instance of full frontal (well, lateral) nudity in the comic. But then there wasn’t enough room at the top of the image for a text box. So now it looks like Ayuri is censored. Oh well, I’ll plan these out better in the future.
- Tainted Veins: Fenna, or more accurately, her host.
- The One Guy: Nilje is the only male in the ship's 7-person crew.
