Trolled! is a series of Super Mario Maker and Super Mario Maker 2 Let's Play videos created by DGR.
Warning: here be troll tropes.
- B-Roll Rebus: In later episodes, he's taken to showing prominent footage of rear ends from time to time whenever he says "butt".
- Berserk Button: Don't call Fletty "Fatty" by mistake, or else he'll troll your arse off.
- Death by Materialism: It'd be easier to list the number of times DGR doesn't die as a result of collecting a 10-bagger, 30-bagger, or 50-bagger. He even has a nickname for moments like those: "Apollo Greed".
- Downer Ending: DGR completes "Get Over It DGR (Coins Optional)", but the clear fails to register due to a connection error.
- Early-Installment Weirdness: The earliest episodes had DGR using mild swear words which would be uncharacteristic of him during the Mario Maker 2 era.
- Epic Fail: Once, DGR got the safety coin immediately after starting the level.
- The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You:
- "What Lives Under the Bridge?" has a troll that pushes DGR backwards and into his green screen, causing him actual physical pain.
- "mario turns into a cucumber" lives and breathes this, ultimately forcing a Downer Ending on the episode no matter how many times DGR clears it.
- Hypocritical Humor: DGR will not waste an opportunity to call Nintendo on this if he plays an official troll level produced in-house. "No one likes a troll," indeed.DGR: Nintendo, really?!
- Negated Moment of Awesome: The "DGR Guarantee" tends to be this fairly often.
- Oh, Crap!: Expect DGR to have this reaction any time he believes he's either been softlocked or about to be sent back to CP1. 99 percent of the time, the "Delfino Plaza" music from Super Mario Sunshine will get this reaction out of him.
- Once an Episode:
- DGR will hit a fork in the road and pause the game to poll Twitch chat on what to do next. Half the time, Twitch chat being what it is, the chatters collectively choose the wrong answer or else deadlock.
- DGR will feel so confident in his ability to finish the level or complete a certain objective on his current life, he will break out the Official DGR Dave Guarantee. Half the time, he ends up Tempting Fate in doing so.
- Refuge in Audacity: "The Anti-Anti-Troll Level" manages to hit DGR with not one, not two, but four of the same troll, and not only does DGR fall for it all four times, he's beginning to question his sanity by the third consecutive time he has to deal with it.DGR: I don't even know what's real anymore!
- Rule of Three: It takes three tries for DGR to introduce "nor galore". His attempt to introduce "CarlHi? No, CarlDie." goes only slightly better.
- Self-Deprecation: DGR always finds an opportunity to remind viewers how pea-brained he is whenever he's trolled; after all, the purpose of this series, as he points out at the start of every episode, is to play Mario Maker 2 levels with the potential to make him look like an idiot.
- Sitcom Archnemesis: CarlSagan42, to the point where DGR honestly believes his levels to be the worst out of all the troll creators he's ever played.
- Strange Minds Think Alike: Sometimes, when Twitch chat steers DGR wrong, he'll admit going the wrong path was his idea all along.
- Tempting Fate: Half the time DGR breaks out the Official DGR Dave Guarantee for an objective, he will die between the guarantee and any accomplishment of that objective.DGR: He who makes a DGR guarantee fails to meet it.
- Too Clever by Half: As the Eighth Troll Commandment dictates, "He who outsmarts the troll dies."
- Unusual Euphemism: Such phrases as "What the dump?" and "Let's hecking go!" are used by DGR in place of actual swears.
- Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Two things DGR is afraid of in Mario Maker 2 are Monty Moles and Boom Boom.
- With Friends Like These...: Ryukahr and Mayro are friends of DGR in real life, and yet both have regularly made troll levels for him to suffer through; in Mayro's case, the series began with her.
- You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: DGR's default reaction any time he catches a troll level creator using the same troll twice in one level, which happens to be a Berserk Button of his.
- You Just Had to Say It: This happens to DGR quite often. He even lists it as his Third Troll Commandment.DGR: When I speak, then I die.
- Statler: Hey, Waldorf, that man's trying to prove it can be a lot of fun to look like an idiot.Waldorf: Well, he doesn't need the help of those trolls, now that he's on TV Tropes! Both: Do-ho-ho-ho-ho-hoh!
