- The Flim Flam Creepypasta, which was a recreation of the events of the Columbine Shooting, but with ponies. It has since been deleted from the site.
- Brief Accent Imitation: Will often imitate characters' accents for comedic effect, such as Babs Seed's Brooklyn accent in One Bad Apple.
- Catchphrase: Always begins his videos with "What is up, everybody? Soundspeed here..." and ends them with "I will see you guys... next time."
- Cats Are Mean: His cat Crookshanks isn't very friendly.
- Celebrity Resemblance: Has mentioned that he looks like Michael from VSauce.
- Coming-Out Story: In his 6/6/2014 stream (not archived), he told the viewers the story of his relationship with the male MrCobaltSky. Currently confirmed on his Tumblr.
- Crossover: Has done dual commentaries of My Little Pony: The World’s Biggest Tea Party and Equestria Girls with MrCobaltSky, another popular brony commentator.
- Deadpan Snarker: His commentaries are this trope in action.
- Fan Fiction: Has done many fan fiction readings on his channel, livestream, and other channels such as Indubitably Ponified and Duhad, and had even written one at one point, though it has since been deleted.

Fountain of Memes: Memorable livestream lines, many originating from bad fanfics, will often become short-lived memes among fans in his livestream chats, with hashtags used in an ironic fashion, e.g. #Don'tBeGaySpike and #Twazis (Twitch nazis). - Incredibly Lame Pun: From his Mare in the Moon commentary: "I complained about your mane before it went mane... stream. [laughs] MANE-stream... Do you guys understand?"
- Let's Play: Has done Let's Plays of several MLP-related games, such as Banned from Equestria Daily and Story of the Blanks.
- Reference Overdosed: His early commentaries were very heavy on memes and references that would often have nothing to do with what he was commentating, but he has since toned them down.
- Self-Deprecation: Has called himself a loser, dumbass, and every other insult at some point.
- So Bad, It's Good: He feels this way about Equestria Girls, saying that while it's not a good movie, but he had fun watching it anyway.
- Speech Impediment: Has a mild lisp that is noticeable sometimes.
- Suddenly Shouting: Occasionally fits this trope, particularly in his earlier commentaries.
