Web Video / Sleepover at Fluttershy's

Go To

A My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic fanvid series by BronyDubs4Life. As the title indicates, Fluttershy invites the girls over for a sleepover. They play a variety of video games together (including Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, Ninja Gaiden, Animal Crossing: City Folk, and BIT.TRIP) whilst enjoying some lively conversation and gossip. They even hold an impromptu reading of the infamous Harry Potter fanfic My Immortal. As this also implies the events of the 2 unmade Brony Edition (the fan series this is a spin-off of) episodes happened offscreen it is also both the Stealth Sequel and Series Finale to My Little Pony Friendship is Magic The Brony Edition a Gag Dub made by the same team.

This series contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Berserk Button: After Fluttershy has a breakdown after failing to beat a Ninja Gaiden level, Pinkie Pie proceeds to give Rainbow Dash a good pummeling (Dash having been the one who convinced Fluttershy to play that particular game). "You do not make Fluttershy cry!"
  • Brain Bleach: Poor Twilight does not handle well the awfulness that is My Immortal.
  • Carnivore Confusion: The girls decide to order pizza. Pinkie wants meat toppings. (This is not without canon precedence; "Fall Weather Friends" indicates that she apparently eats hot dogs.)
  • Cloud Cuckoolander: Big Macintosh is... odd in this series.
  • Continuity Nod: Plenty of references to events from the TV show.
  • Gamer Chick: Rainbow Dash, as you might expect, but Rarity also turns out to be one, surprisingly enough.
  • Just Here for Godzilla: Invoked. Fluttershy has a ton of games on her Wii's Virtual Console, but has only actually played a couple of them. She apparently bought them just to look at their pretty menu icons.
  • Lame Pun Reaction: From episode 6.
    Fluttershy: It's a tire!
Rarity: By the way, girls, is anyone getting... tired? (She laughs.)
Pinkie Pie: And you said my jokes were bad.
  • Loony Friends Improve Your Personality: Rarity points out that had the six not become friends with one another, they'd probably have all ended up in asylums because of their various issues.
  • MST: The My Immortal reading takes on shades of this.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Fluttershy's reaction to accidentally kicking a baby Yoshi into a pit.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: After Fluttershy's distraught reaction to apparently killing a Yoshi (see above), Rainbow Dash tries to reassure her by going back into the level and showing her that Yoshi's perfectly okay... and promptly does the exact same thing.
  • Rocks Fall, Everyone Dies: Pinkie Pie invokes this in order to bring My Immortal to a swift conclusion.
  • Scenery Porn: Rarity gushes over the backgrounds in Donkey Kong Country. Completely justified, as it's considered one of the best looking games of all time.
  • Shout-Out: Rainbow Dash recalls the time she beat up Starscream.
  • Slice of Life: There's no actual plot. The series is simply the Mane Six chatting while playing video games together and reading bad fanfiction.
  • Soap Punishment: Applejack subjects Apple Bloom to this when the latter uses one too many curse words. Then Applejack slips up herself, giving Apple Bloom an opportunity for revenge.
  • The Stoner: Rarity and Pinkie Pie apparently enjoy getting high.
  • Third-Person Person: Big Macintosh speaks like this.
  • What Measure Is a Non-Cute?:
    • Fluttershy can't bring herself to kill enemies in Super Mario World, but plows through the Donkey Kong Country enemies without hesitation. When Rainbow Dash calls her on this, Fluttershy explains that the DKC enemies are more clearly evil.
    • Also occurs somewhat when the ponies talk about the Grand Theft Auto series, where Fluttershy states she has absolutely zero problem killing humans in it.
  • You Need to Get Laid: When Rarity acts as if Fluttershy is involved with Applejack's brother Big Macintosh, she wonders if Applejack might be offended. AJ replies, "We've been trying to get him laid for 20 years!"
