Miles is a Robot! oh my god.

Miles is a Robot is a part-Let's Play, part-improvised Abridged Series by Brendan Blaber and his friends of Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth and a fan translation of its sequel Gyakuten Kenji 2. Through riffing on the game's questionable writing and plot, the group ends up establishing multiple running gags, the most prominent starting with Gyakuten Kenji 2 being that Miles Edgeworth is, as the title implies, a robot.

The first two videos, collectively named Miles is on Fire, cover the first game while the rest of the series covers Gyakuten Kenji 2.

The series provides examples of:

  • Company Cross References: While Jello and Siv are complimenting Nicole Swift's bear trap on her backpack, Molly Blyndeff appears in it's place before it cuts away to the next scene.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: When the Chess Counter gets overloaded after it reaches 60, it briefly flashes four exclamation marks then stating "Miles, I love you." right before it explodes.
  • "No. Just… No" Reaction: After Ray makes a comment about "what will happen to Kay-Ray's love?!", the entire cast immediately react with various exclamations of disgust and dejections. When Ray asks for a do-over, Miles walks away declaring the conversation is over, which Ray admits is fair. Once they check the character profiles and realize that Kay is 17 while Ray is 36, Miles refers to Lang as "Agent Law Please Arrest Ray Shields".
  • Running Gag: The group establish various throughout the series as they riff.
    • Miles Edgeworth being, as the title implies, a robot and to a lesser extent, Gumshoe being a golem.
    • The Chess Counter, which counts every mention or reference to chess in the second game. It ends up exploding in the finale.
    • Agent Lang's name being replaced with a different L-word every time it's spoken, as a result of Jello giving up on trying to remember it.
    • Ray Shields being a pervert, frequently making comments about "hugs".
  • Shout-Out: Several.
    • When starting the first game's third case, Jello exclaims it's time for the Scooby-Doo adventure.
    • After seeing Ethan Rooke's body, Jello says they'll need to call the Elite Beat Agents to tell them one of their own have died.
    • They jokingly suggest that Simon's monkey was the mastermind at one point by pulling a "Ratatouille" to make Simon shoot the president, with Chimpy singing the Donkey Kong Rap as he does so.
  • Take That!: Much of the series involves making pointing out and taking potshots at the Investigations games' writing and characters, such as the first episode's spoiler warning:
This video contains [SPOILERS] for every case in Ace Attorney Investigations (and the last case in the original Ace Attorney). Luckily, this game sucks, so you don't really want to play it anyways.
