Low Budget Man is a Web Original series following the adventures of Dustin Carter, secretly Low Budget Man, a superhero who is exactly as useful as he sounds. He's a punching bag for common criminals, the public barely knows he exists, and the city's most popular hero is his own sidekick. Rarely able to catch a break, Low Budget Man continues to try and make a difference, no matter how badly he gets pummeled in the process.
Low Budget Man contains examples of the following:
- Civvie Spandex: With a name like Low Budget Man, this is pretty easy to expect.
- Determinator: He may run away from danger and get himself beaten to a pulp on a regular basis, but he still goes out every day knowing what's going to happen to him.
- Dude, Where's My Respect?: Subverted. LBM feels entitled to far more respect than he's actually earned.
- Hyper-Competent Sidekick: Less Beloved Lad is the one constantly being called in by the Mayor, has consistent victories, and the respect of Springfield's populace.
