"Epic Rap Battles: Video Games vs History is the most awesome epic rap battle series of all time."
Channel Description

Legend57 Rap Battles is a rap battle channel best known for its series "Epic Rap Battles: Video Games vs History". Its videos are purposely bad parodies of Epic Rap Battles of History featuring bad writing and special effects, edgy humor, unnecessary sound effects, and strange matchups and rappers, much to comedic effect.

  • Adaptational Nationality: Playboi Carti is randomly British for some reason.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: Seong Gi-hun calls himself "fruity" in his rap battle, implying that he is gay, unlike his canon counterpart.
  • Affectionate Parody: While it parodies Epic Rap Battles of History, it does so in a friendly way that doesn't insult the original series.
  • Autotune: In the battle between Berdly and Bill Gates, both rappers have a sung section that uses autotune.
  • Battle Rapping: Each video features a rap battle between two or more characters.
  • Battle-Interrupting Shout: In "Godzilla vs. King Kong 2", Humanity's verse gets interrupted by Megalon with a big "THAT'S ENOUGH!"
  • Black Comedy: The series has an edgy sense of humor, such as when Among Us made jokes about Neil Armstrong dying from a heart attack and multiple characters joking about Jeffery Epstein.
  • Boastful Rap: Being a series of rap battles, every video feature boastful rapping.
  • Character Catchphrase:
    • The Terminator says "Hey guys, I said that I would be back later. You are about to get owned by the Terminator" almost every time he appears.
    • Kanye says "Rapping and singing" in both of his appearances.
  • Disproportionate Retribution:
    • M&Ms doxxes and releases someone's name and address just because he left a slightly mean comment on his video.
      • In a later video he has him swatted, leading to his father being shot by the police.
  • "Everybody Dies" Ending: Most of the characters are shot by the end of "Danganronpa vs Squid Game".
  • Everything Explodes Ending: Happens while Megalon screams his name in "Godzilla vs. King Kong 2"
  • Good Angel, Bad Angel: Bill Gates sees two of these on his shoulder during his battle with Berdly. One tells him to be kind, while the other only tells him to kill Berdly.
  • I Banged Your Mom: A common insult in the battles is for a character to claim they had sex with the other's mom.
  • Interchangeable Asian Cultures: Godzilla claims to have left China in a wreckage, despite being known for attacking Japan. He also says this while the flag of South Korea is in the background.
  • Non-Indicative Name: The series is called "Epic Rap Battles: Video Games vs History" despite very few of the battles featuring a video game character rapping against a historical figure.
  • Parody: The videos parody Epic Rap Battles of History and its bad knockoffs.
  • Piss-Take Rap: Most of the raps in the series are made to be bad, with weak and strange raps.
  • Running Gag:
    • At the end of most battles in the series after his first appearance in "Godzilla vs King Kong", The Terminator suddenly appears out of nowhere alongside an explosion to do the same rap each time.
    • Random lines are taken from ERB even if they have nothing to do with the current battle.
    • Multiple characters have raps where they mention the date that their media was released, acting as if it is somehow a diss.
    • Battles are filled with sound effects such as cheering or noises of shock to supposedly show that a rapper is doing well.
    • Characters will sometimes stop rapping completely to have serious arguments with each other while the beat keeps playing. These usually originate from a nonsensical or ridiculous statement and quickly devolve into childish insults that derail the battle completely.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Many lines used by rappers are clearly based on raps from Epic Rap Battles of History.
    • Multiple clips used in various battles come from ERB and other rap battle videos.
  • Stylistic Suck: All of the raps are purposely bad for comedic reasons.
  • Take That!:
    • Among Us is portrayed as incredibly obnoxious in his battle against Neil Armstrong, rapping in an annoying voice about how Neil is dead and that Among Us went to the moon first. Neil points out that he is an annoying fad whose raps don't make any sense.
    • "Godzilla vs King Kong 2" features Godzilla announcing mid-verse that he will deliver the next line with his "ERB voice" (the line in question being heavily distorted and inaudible).
