Two young Polish woman, Majka and Natalia, meet again by chance while at the airport. It transpires that they were once girlfriends, and clearly the two still have feelings for each other. Flashbacks reveal how they met, and though both of them are now seeing other people, they're still drawn back together.''Kontrola ("Control" in Polish) was originally a web series. It ran from 2018 to 2022.

- Affectionate Nickname:
- Natalia fondly calls Majka "my Maja". Her friends also call her Maja. She's also called Sunshine by Kuba, one friend she has, as well.
- Weronika is always called Wera by everyone she's friends with (like Majka) and her boyfriend.
- Franek is only called by his full name a couple times at his wedding. His friends call him Anu, as does his girlfriend (later wife) Wera.
- Anachronic Order: The series switches in between the present and past. It shows how Natalia and Majka met, the two became a couple, broke up then got together again later.
- Babies Make Everything Better: Natalia's mom warns her against getting herself into a relationship with Majka, who's expecting a baby, thinking this. She had Natalia for Natalia's father-it just made all of them miserable together for a long time. Nonetheless, though Natalia isn't interested at first, later it seems she and Majka might get back together. Natalia by then has grown fond of Majka's daughter.
- Closet Gay: Majka is not out to her family as bisexual for a long time.
- Coming-Out Story: Majka at last tells her dad about loving Natalia, which he's accepting of, after her sister already figured it out.

- After she breaks up with Paulina, Natalia also has to get her as Paulina's gotten very drunk and is outside on an icy bridge.
- Good Girls Avoid Abortion: Majka at first goes to have an abortion when she gets pregnant accidentally. However, it's obvious Natalia is the one who's driving this more than her. Majka always wanted a baby someday though, so belatedly she decides she'll keep it. The option of abortion however isn't shown as bad by the narrative. Polish law very heavily restricts it though, so they were crossing over to Slovakia.
- Hair-Contrast Duo: Brunette Natalia is reserved, more unfriendly and prone to being morose. Redhead Majka is quite open, almost always friendly and smiles most of the time.
- Important Haircut: After she loses her best friend in a car accident and is very depressed due to this, Majka cuts her long hair short as a means of self-renewal.
- Killed Offscreen: Season four starts with Kuba's funeral. He was killed in a car accident due to taking a tax with a drunk driver, realizing it only after too late.
- Language Barrier: Natalia's mom brings her Italian boyfriend for Christmas. Since he doesn't speak Polish but knows English other people use it with him sometimes.
- Lingerie Scene: Natalia and Majka are both shown in their bras at times.
- Longing Look: The long, soulful pining gazes that Natalia and Majka give each other even when they aren't together (or indeed, are with other people) tip off multiple people on how they truly feel.

- Morning Sickness: Majka suffers this after getting pregnant. She runs off to vomit abruptly.

- One-Night-Stand Pregnancy: After she's come home from Spain, Majka learns to her surprise that she's pregnant, from what was apparently casual sex with a stranger. She then has to deal with deciding on what she'll do. Natalia pushes her to have an abortion, which Majka goes along with at first, but ultimately she doesn't (having always wanted a baby), and happily becomes the mother of a daughter.
- The One That Got Away: Even when they're in relationships with other people after theirs collapsed, Natalia and Majka quite clearly want one another most of all.
- One True Love: Natalia and Majka break up, then both of them date other people. However, they still clearly want each other, no one else. They break up with their other partners and get back together. Natalia is even described as this by one of Majka's friends.
- Opposites Attract: Olive-skinned brunette Natalia is more morose, less friendly and reserved. Contrasting this, Majka is a fair-skinned readhead who's usually upbeat, quite friendly and outgoing. They are both still the others' One True Love.
- Sex with the Ex: Natalia and Majka rekindle their passion when both have just ended their recent relationships with other people through spontaneously having sex.
- Shoulders-Up Nudity: Natalia and Majka are shown while having sex this way a couple times.
- Time Skip: The series skipped ahead two years in between season three and four.
