Web Video / Henith No Way Home Rewrite

Go To

This Spider-Man: No Way Home rewrite was created by Henith on YouTube to preserve the continuity of the other Spider-Man movies.

This rewrite contains examples of:

  • A Glitch in the Matrix: Purple cracks in reality lead the villains to escape the magic simulation Peter was placed in.
  • A Wizard Did It: Peter says this to Otto.
  • Adaptational Alternate Ending: When Dr. Strange sends the other two versions of Peter Parker back to their own respective universes, Peter-One is also affected. However, the villains are not affected, since they're not actually from different universes.
  • Adaptational Backstory Change: All the villains killed Spider-Man in their respective universes.
  • Adaptational Explanation: After the Green Goblin attacks Peter, the screen fades to white[1] & it is revealed that Dr. Strange placed Peter in a magic simulation, in an attempt to teach him that there are consequences to his actions.
    • The motivation for removing the villains powers changes from saving their lives to keeping their respective universes safe.
    • Eddie & Venom are still summoned to the MCU thanks to Dr. Strange's Accidental Misnaming when trying to find Peter-One. However, Dr. Strange believes that it had no effect.
  • Born of Magic: This applies to all the villains that escaped the simulation.
  • Completed Fic: All five of these videos comprising the entirety of the revised movie can be found on YouTube.
  • Evil All Along: the Green Goblin pretends to be homeless.
  • Fake Memories
  • Fatal Flaw: The Green Goblin tells Peter that his morality is the problem.
  • Fix Fic: Since all the villains were Born of Magic, this doesn’t threaten to Retcon any of the previous movies out of existence.
  • In Spite of a Nail:
    • May still dies.
    • Eddie & Venom are still summoned to the MCU.
  • Manipulative Editing: Peter states how real the magic simulation felt. Apparently, it was powerful enough to fool his Spidey-Sense.
  • Never My Fault: This still applies to Otto & Norman.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero
  • Not Quite the Right Thing:
    • Dr Strange gaslighting Peter again.
    • Peter's plan to remove the villains powers.
  • Revision: this adaptation:
    • shuffles a few plot points around ( Peter tries to plead his case with the MIT admin before talking to Dr. Strange)
    • removes the box containing the spell that sends the villains back to their own respective universes in the final fight.
  • Time for Plan B: Dr. Strange begins to destroy the villains that escaped the simulation, but doesn’t follow through with it. Upon realizing that Peter was right, he attempts to find Peter again, only to open a portal to a different universe twice.
  • Variant Power Copying: Though nobody ever calls him out for it, Dr. Strange gaslights Peter for the second time.
  • You Did the Right Thing: May assures Peter this before she dies.
