Girls Und Panzer Abridged is the first abridged series based on the anime franchise Girls und Panzer. Filled to the brim with drug-fueled, psychopathic characters and a severe disregard for political correctness, it is one of the more... unique... abridged series. Created by GunmetalStug in 2013, he has made nine episodes (eight normal ones and a Christmas Special), although there was a six year gap between episodes 6 and 7. They can be found here.

Girls Und Panzer Abridged provides example of the following Tropes:

  • Absurdly Powerful Student Council: They can not only do everything they can do in the original series, but the Student Council President also threatens Miho with a flensing knife.
  • Adaptational Villainy: The series turns Anzu into a violent, sadistic tyrant.
  • The Alcoholic: Miho and Ami.
  • The Alleged Tank: The Type 89 is frequently made fun of for exactly this reason.
  • Amusing Injuries: Whenever a tank gets knocked out; the crew will describe their horrible injuries from being caught in an exploding vehicle.
    M3 crew: "I can't feel my legs!"
M3 crew: "Why are my insides on the outside?"
    • Also following the Copter crash at the end of episode 6, Mako shares the sentiment, in her unique way.
Mako: (subtitled) "ARMS DON'T BEND THAT WAY!"
  • Angrish: Anzu on the phone in Episode 3.
  • Ask a Stupid Question...: From Episode 7;
Saori: "Have you seen a bunch of annoying freshmen running around here?"
Crewman: "This is a Japanese highschool."
  • Ax-Crazy: Anzu is always one slight away from a murderous frenzy.
  • Bait-and-Switch: Double Subverted when Yukari, freshly returned from spying on Anzio and splattered with red, reveals that she only spilled some pasta sauce on herself only for the Anzio students to take this as a dire social faux pas.
Yukari: "Not every problem needs a violent solution..."
Anzio Student: "GET THAT BITCH, SHE SPILLED-A PRECIOUS PASTA SAUCE!!!"
    Yukari: (On screen) "Oh shit!"
    Yukari: "...But this one did."
  • Bears Are Bad News: Miho's teddy bear. (Or, alternatively, Sealed Evil in a Teddy Bear)
Mr. Snugglekins: Feed me the souls of the innocent!
    • In the end of episode #5, not only Mr. Snugglekins, but all the teddies in Miho's room have apparently the same or similar supernatural properties as him.
    • It also seems that Mr. Snugglekins is worshiped by Anzu as some kind of evil deity.
  • Beleaguered Assistant: Momo. Has to rein in Anzu's psychopathy.
  • Bilingual Bonus: The German text in one of Episode 3's transitions pokes fun at a certain sub group.
    • Nona is introduced as a Russian exchange student who doesn't speak English. Except she's not Russian, she's Polish and has been speaking Polish the whole time. The similar accents and lack of knowledge in either language lets the majority of viewers be the butt of the joke alongside the protagonists.
  • Blood Knight: Miho.
Miho: I love the smell of blood and tanks in the morning.
  • Blood Lust: Anzu.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: In the intro to Episode 2.
Miho: Why does this show exist?
  • British Accents: St Gloriana's, being a school with very English sensibilities, not surprising sports a few different ones through the student body; Darjeeling's is fairly posh, Orange Pekoe is Scottish and Rukuriri's sounds like Essex.
  • But for Me, It Was Tuesday: The History Club and Yukari finding a Char B in the drainage pond, and Rommel insinuates that it has something to do with the disappearance of the previous Tankery team. Anzu's reaction?
"The drainage pond you say? (Cue nightmarish flashbacks) Doesn't ring a bell."
  • Call-Back: Miho's plan to beat the Italian-themed Anzio? Yukari. Complete with school shooting spree.
  • Casual Danger Dialogue: This is Hana's reaction to Yukari's escape from Saunders.
Hana: "Well I just saw a person die."
  • Cold-Blooded Torture: How Anzu gets Miho to return to Tankery. Although Miho is so jaded and broken she just criticizes Anzu's technique.
  • Country Matters: Used by both Saori & Orange Peko.
  • Cute and Psycho: Anzu.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Unlike the source material, the incident that caused Miho to leave Kuromorimine wasn't an act of heroism that caused them to lose a match. Rather it was her incompetent leadership getting her teammates killed.
  • Deep South: Sizable chunks of Saunders' students sport these accents along with stereotypes like being aggressive, incestuous, dumb, and proud.
  • The Ditz: Rabbit Team. All of them.
Miho: "The freshmen were even able to rub a couple braincells together."
Aya: "We have two and we share them!"
  • Drill Sergeant Nasty: Anzu has shades of this.
  • Drunk Driver: Ami, which is even more dangerous because she does it in a tank.
  • invokedDude, Not Funny!: Erwin and Anzu made an gingerbread Auschwitz replica, which everyone else was extremely disgusted of.
  • Eagleland: Saunders appears to be firmly Type 2 mixed with Deep South.
  • Eldritch Abomination: Whatever it is that's inhabiting Deck 13. Even Anzu is wary of it.
  • Everyone Has Standards: The cast's reaction to Rommel's party favor (She and Anzu built an gingerbread Auschwitz replica).
  • Expy: Ami is described by the creators as Sterling Archer with tits.
  • Evil Brit: Downplayed with Darjeeling.
  • Flat "What": Momo does this frequently, due to the utter insanity of everyone around her.
  • Friendship Moment: Lampshaded in Episode 7;
Miho: "Holy fuck, did we just have a genuine moment?"
    Saori: "Yeeeah thatfeltwierdletsneverdothatagain."
  • Gilligan Cut: Anzu, after betting on winning the scrimmage against Darjeeling. And immediately after that, when Saori believes they've escaped Tankery.
  • Gratuitous German: Rommel
  • HA HA HA—No: Maho gives this when Saori says Ooarai is winning the nationals.
  • Hilariously Abusive Childhood: Implied with Miho in the Christmas Special (it was taken up to Nine Thousand and One in episode #3, when she said, that for her, tankery is like rape that you have to enjoy half way through and that such a trauma isn't anything, that alcohol can't fix).
    • In episode 7 she explicitly states that she was sexually abused while growing up, amongst other traumas.
Miho: Growing up wasn't easy. It was like Lord of the Flies... but with tanks. And sexual abuse.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: One of Miho's threats to Saunders to try to get them to surrender is to leave them to Anzu, to which she replies "FINALLY! I'M STARVING!" During the post-fight fight, she apparently delivers on her threat.
    Miho: "Anzu ate a guy."
    Anzu: "I ATE A GUY!"
  • I'm Going to Hell for This: The Christmas Special's description.
  • Interplay of Sex and Violence: Hana likes guns. She really likes guns. Upon hearing the KwK 37 firing for the first time:
Hana: That made me so wet, you could sail a boat up me.
  • Insane Troll Logic: Miho's response to Momo's speech about how her tactics suck during episode 4.
Miho: But now they have less ammo... My plan is working perfectly!
  • Improbable Weapon User: Anzu threatens Miho with a flensing knife, and later uses one on Kay.
"THAT'S HOW IT IS KAY! BITCHES TALK SHIT! BITCHES GET SLIT!"
  • Jive Turkey: Yukari talks like this.
  • Larynx Dissonance: Copious amounts of it.
  • Madness Mantra: Once Saori manages to track down Rabbit Team in episode 7, they're all scared shitless and babbling to themselves.
    Aya: "Isawitisawitisawirisawit..."
    Azusa: "Whitetteethandredthoughtswhitetteethandredthoughtswhiteteeth...."
  • The Napoleon: Anzu's height is her primary Berserk Button.
  • Never Learned to Read: Rabbit Team. Shocker.
  • Nightmare Fuel: When Anzu orders Miho to go retrieve Saori and the Freshmen from deck 13.
Miho: "I'm gonna have nightmares for weeks aren't I?"
    Anzu: "Months."
  • Noodle Incident: What happened to Oorai's tanks? Anzu certainly won't tell...
  • N-Word Privileges: Used sparingly by Yukari.
  • Only Sane Man: Momo. Her exasperation is completely understandable, especially considering she's usually the one who has to clean up the mess.
  • Poirot Speak: Rommel does this frequently.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Momo to Miho for the entire intro to Episode 4.
  • Screw the Rules, I Make Them!: Invoked by Anzu when Miho refuses to be a part of Oorai's Tankery team.
Anzu: Bitch, I run this school!
  • Shout-Out: Quite a few, but not as many as other abridged series. Frequently references Archer, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Borderlands.
  • Spaghetti and Gondolas: Anzio, much like in the original source material. Their training days start with an early breakfast at 4 in the afternoon.
  • Straight Man: Mostly Momo. Mako has qualities of this as well.
  • Stuff Blowing Up: The reaction of an Oorai Academy student after seeing a video of a tank being blown up by an anti-tank missile, which suggest that the student wants to join in just to destroy tanks.
OA Student: "That looks FUCKING AWESOME!"
  • Suicide as Comedy: Why Mako's grandmother is in the hospital.
Grandmother: "For God's sake Mako, you think six empty painkiller bottles and a note whould be enough of a hint that I didn't want to go to the hospital?!"
    Mako: "Grandma, those where multivitamins."
  • Take That!: A few.
    • Directed at fans of the original series.
Miho: "Why does this show exist?"
Yuzu: "Mostly so middle-aged history geeks can jerk off to tanks and high school girls at the same time."
    • And at the notorious official dub.
Momo: "It's cute girls and tanks, what's the worst that can happen? Oh right. The dub. Oh, God the dub!"
  • This Is for Emphasis, Bitch!: Yukari and Saori in the intro to Episode 3.
Saori: Yukari...are you doing karaoke again?
    Yukari: All day everyday, bitch.
    • Miho in episode 4
Miho: Hey Darjeeling... Money shot, bitch!
  • Those Wacky Nazis: Rommel. Anzu may be one as well, or she might just join in on Rommel's schemes because she's a psycho.
  • Transparent Closet: Hana exemplifies this trope.
  • The Unintelligible: Mako, which allows others to creatively interpret what she says.
    • Episode 7 implies her entire family is like this.
  • Vocal Dissonance:
    • Played for laughs with Anzu, who sounds like Christian Bale's Batman.
    • Yukari's voice and mannerisms are that of a sassy African-American man.
  • Wham Line: Technically two; the one from the show, about Ooarai being shut down if they don't win the tournament, and then one immediately after Miho's apathetic response to that.
Momo: Miho... Ooarai Academy is a Prison Ship.
  • Where Does He Get All Those Wonderful Toys?: Yukari's collection of Tank Memorabilia. Her drug dealing paid for most of it.
  • Wide Eyes and Shrunken Irises: Happens a lot in Episode 7, in between the freshmen team's expedition into the depths of the ship and Momo's reaction to Miho sending Yukari on another "scouting mission".
