''G-I-N-O-R-M-O! Ginormo! He's like a robot! But really really really big!
Ginormo! is a Japanese Toku TV series created in the early 1970s. The show follows the Super Protection Force (SPF 51), a government organization dedicated to protecting the world from giant monsters out to destroy the city of Tokyo, many of whom are created by an evil organization called the Beast Advanced Artillery Division (BAAD), who seek world domination. Led by the old but dedicated and determined Commander Yakamoto, members of the team include Kimmie, the intelligent communications officer, Munchie, the jumpy and nervous chief engineer who can be seen eating at times, Mikko, an agent who is one of the best on the force, and Yuki, Mikko's little sister, the youngest and newest member of the team, and the commander of Ginormo, a giant mech created by the SPF.

Unfortunately, the show itself doesn't look good at all. The budget was tight, and there wasn't a single member of the production crew who was good at their job. As a result, the finished product looked so bad, the show got canceled before the first episode could even air, and as such, the show never saw the light of day... until decades later in 2023, when a YouTuber named Steven He, who happens to be the grandson of the show's creator, discovered old copies of the show in his house and decided to upload episodes of the show to YouTube, thus giving it the attention it never got when it was first created.

So yeah, as you might've just guessed, Ginormo! is in fact a Web Video Series that parodies the Toku series shown during the Showa era in Japan. Steven He stars in this series alongside other YouTubers, such as Alan Chikin Chow, Jeenie Weenie, Nathan Doan, Kris Collins, Joma, Steven Ho, Ian Boggs, Jennings Brower, and Lauren Kim.

This series provides examples of...

  • Action Girl: Kimmie and Yuki are the two most prominent female members of SPF 51. Just watch Episode 4.
  • All Love Is Unrequited: Kimmie has a crush on Mikko, and a Running Gag in the series has her trying to find ways to show him her feelings for him, but he never gets the idea, much to her chagrin.
  • Big Bad: Lord Metagon, the commander of BAAD.
  • Big Eater: Munchie.
  • Cowardly Lion: Munchie is prone to panicking at times when things look intense.
  • Extremely Short Intro Sequence: "G-I-N-O-R-M-O Ginormo! He's like a robot! But really really really big!" (begin episode)
  • Humongous Mecha: Ginormo is one. The intro sequence lampshades this.
  • Is This Thing Still On?: While filming the third episode, the cameraman forgets to stop filming when the director yells "Cut!", and it takes a while for the cast and crew to realize that the camera's still running. Even though they turn it off after that, the editing team left the long take in.
  • Meaningful Name: Munchie can be seen eating stuff at times.
  • Oblivious to Love: Mikko never seems to realize that Kimmie is in love with him.
  • Stylistic Suck: The show looks poorly made. Justified, as the production crew had no idea what they were doing, and they had a small budget.
  • Tagalong Kid: Yuki is only a teenage girl, yet she's working at SPF 51.
  • Troubled Production: In-Universe, the people making the show had a hard time doing it properly, resulting in the show looking so bad that it never aired, and we're only seeing it today because the creator's grandson just so happened to uncover it.

Go, go, go, go, Ginormo! GINORMO!
