Doug Funnie in Adult Life (also known as Doug Funnie na Vida Adulta in Portuguese) is a Brazilian Fan Film released in 2021 by RaciociNando Filmes based on Jim Jinkins' animated series Doug.

Set some time after the events of the Nickelodeon series, Doug Funnie (Nando Rodrigues), now a young adult, is applying for a job as a cartoonist at a local advertising agency. Unfortunately for him, Roger Klotz (Filipe Alcarvan), his old school bully, is applying for the exact same job. Who will end up getting the job?

The fan film can be watched on YouTube here.note

Doug Funnie in Adult Life provides examples of:

  • Amazing Technicolor Population: Averted. All of the characters in this film have normal skin tones.
  • Black Index, White Index: For the job interview, Doug wears a white suit and tie, while Roger wears a black suit and tie. This is to show how they're both opposites trying to get the same position.
  • The Cameo: Judy Funnie shows up near the end of the film having a Facetime call with Doug. It's revealed that she's been traveling the world, and exploring new things. But then, she reveals that she's dating Roger...
  • Dub Name Change: Since the film was never dubbed into English, the names used are the ones from the Brazilian Portuguese dub. For example, Porkchop is changed to "Costelinha", and Quailman is changed to "Capitão Codorna"Rough translation .
  • Five-Second Foreshadowing: In the beginning of the film, it's shown that Doug is teaching a class full of students. This is the first clue that Doug doesn't get the job at the advertising agency.
  • Graceful Loser: When Doug fesses up that he had previously consulted with Patti's uncle (the owner of the advertising agency), he knows that his time as a potential hire was passed on to Roger. However, he takes it in stride and never once got angry.
  • Happily Married: Near the end of the film, one of Doug's students asks him how everything went with Patti. The camera immediately pans to a wedding ring on Doug's finger.
  • Ink-Suit Actor: Some in the comments have noted how Filipe Alcarvan bears a striking resemblance to Roger Klotz, minus the green skin.
  • Original Character: Walter Mayonnaise, Patti's uncle, was created solely for this fan film and has never appeared in any official episodes.
  • Reformed Bully: Near the film's climax, Doug realizes that Roger had become a changed person since the last time he saw him. After Doug humbly gives up his spot to Roger, he approaches Doug, looking like he was about to do something to him... only to pull him into a hug. Roger and Doug become best friends by the end of the film.
  • Shout-Out:
    • The name of the advertising agency is "JJ Advertising", a reference to series creator Jim Jinkins.
    • The magazine that Doug reads in the waiting area is called "Rolam as Pedras"Rough translation , a reference to The Rolling Stones.
