Crank Lucas is a sound engineer, rapper, and producer. He is most well known for his comedic rap sketches on his YouTube channel. While not a mainstream superstar, his popularity has led to high-profile collaborations with Project Pat and Joyner Lucas.

  • Badass Boast: In "WHEN LOCAL RAPPERS START GETTING ARROGANT", Shades!Lucas lays down some tight rhymes about how great a rapper he is, however as Crank asks questions about the rapper's accomplishments, he learns that nothing he is rapping about is true.
  • Caps Lock: How all of the video titles except "When Local Rappers Finally Keep It 100" are written.
  • Catchphrase: His producer tag "Crank Lucas in the building."
  • Hashtag Rap: In the video "DUMBEST PUNCHLINES EVER", Shades!Lucas's last line is ->"I'm a countertop, so you should wipe me down— there go my spider sound!"
  • Mushroom Samba: The 2nd rapper from "RAPPERS USED TO BE DRUG DEALERS NOW THEYRE DRUG ADDICTS" has a colorful psychedelic around him as he raps about all the drugs he uses and sips on a cup of lean as he performs.
  • Running Gag: Crank has a fixation with the month of January. In "WHEN RAPPERS TRY TO DO THE PRODUCERS JOB", Shades!Lucas introduces the concept of a 'spider sound'.
  • Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness: The rapper from "RAPPERS USING BIG WORDS TO SOUND MORE LYRICAL" and "STILL OVERDOING IT WITH THE BIG WORDS".
  • Shout-Out: Many of his songs reference other people or fictional works, the most notable example would be "LOCAL RAPPERS WILL DO ANYTHING TO GET SIGNED" which references Tisha Campbell, Maury, American Horror Story, Amelia Earhart, and The Amazing World of Gumball.
  • Insane Troll Logic: used in "HOW FETTY WAP STOLE MY SONG".
