Didn't this show used to be about some island and its inhabitants? note

Village of Objects (VOO) is a reboot show of co-creators Vince and Alex's previous Object Show, Object Village which had two seasons before its cancellation. The first episode "Bullseye" was released on 24th July 2019.

In a small area of an unknown island live several objects, 15 to be precise, all with nothing better to do. Cue the entrance of Perfume, a Game Show Host wanting to start a competition-based show where the prize is the island itself. Everyone agrees to compete in and so begins another object show in the long list of object shows.

However, once Perfume, alongside her co-host Monitor, went missing-in-action one too many times, which force others to rotate the responsibility of hosting VOO, and the contestants are caught up in the heat of the competition....things are about to get interesting.

Episodes are to be viewed here.

This show contains the following tropes:

  • Accidental Misnaming: Team "5 Names At Once" got its name when all of the members said their names at the same time after misinterpreting Perfume's question of their team name for their own without thought. Meanwhile, when telling OJ that their team name is gonna be awesome since they're "The Cool Ones In The Show", Coin unknowingly gave their team name with his quote.
    • This happened again in "Par" with both the newly formed teams. Slushie wanted to name his team the "Frozen Fighters" again but Flaggy, in an attempt to stop him, cuts him off midway with a curt "No!". TV glitched out when naming hers. Thus, both teams are stuck with the undesirable names of "Frozen FiNo" and "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA".
  • A Dog Named "Dog": All the characters on the show are named after what they are based on such as a clock named Clock and a perfume bottle named Perfume (As if you didn't know by now).
  • A Lizard Named "Liz": Flaggy, Snowy and the recommended character Lemony are the only ones to have the letter "y" at the end of their self-explanatory names.
  • All Just a Dream: Object Village, the forgotten original series preceded by Village of Objects, had been Retconned as part of Towel's dream only she could remember and that none of the events actually happened.
  • Animate Inanimate Object: Same old story with this type of show.
  • Anthropomorphic Food: Ever so prevalent in an object show.note
  • Armless Biped: Bowling Ball, Monitor, Slushie, Snowy, Phone and some of the recommended charactersnote  are straight examples while variants include Smoothie, Ring and 3-Ball, the first two are inversions while the remaining one is limbless.
  • The Artifact: In a span of about a year and thirteen episodes, the show is completely unrecognizable compared to how it started. The changes include the original hosts being out-of-commission and replaced by either the contestants or secondary characters, the Minimalist Cast increasing exponentially, the island isn't the main setting, nor is it valid (maybe) as the grand prize, anymore and the introduction of sci-fi elements because the competition is now in space. There is a whole B-plot about Perfume and the extraterrestrial light entities.
  • Audience Participation: The viewers usually vote which of the remaining contestants on the show gets eliminated and on one occasion, which eliminated contestant rejoins.
  • The Cameo: Robot Blue Rectangle, Water Bottle and Limey appeared in the non-canon "The Second Costume Contest" short where the former takes offense to OJ saying he doesn't exist and the latter two in a diner still looking for Lemony.
  • Character Catchphrase: Starting from the latter half of episode 6, Slushie said "Thaaaanks [insert name here]" at least Once per Episode.
  • Continuity: The cast's Amusing Injuries are carried extensively over the course of Village of Objects.
    • Conditioner cracked Tv's screen in the second episode and wasn't fixed for 6 episodes
    • Flaggy's face got ripped in half because of Towel
    • Clock's pendulum gets ripped off by Towel
  • Fingerless Hands: The characters on show seem to have ball-like appendages with fingers sometimes sticking out when necessary. Only the light entities avert this by having Four-Fingered Hands.
  • Guest Host: As Perfume disappears ever so often for varying reasons, one of the contestants or someone else would fill in her role as host of VOO. So far, Monitor, Towel, TV and Phone had each hosted one episode of the show, Blue Circle hosted two and as of current, recommended character Catbell is the newest host.
  • Instrumental Theme Tune: The intro is Space Chase by Waterflame.
  • Out of Focus: It's bound to happen for the eliminated contestants but there's no excuse Perfume should be the biggest offender of them all.
  • Shoutout: Quite a number of them from Battle for Dream Island
    • Perfume and other contestants raising their arms to start the intro for episodes 1 through 3.
    • The Unpronouncable name of Team 5 Names At Once is inspired by the equally unpronounceable Team Bleh.
    • When Perfume and Monitor became unavailable to host Village of Objects due to one being dead and the other ditching the contestants, Towel exclaims they are now a "nothing of objects"note .
    • TV possesses a number of Freeze-Juice syringes that turns people into frozen popsicles.
  • Sequel Non-Entity: The original show, Object Village, had DanTDM Head, Doggy, and Kitty that aren't present in the current Village Of Objects which can be chalked up to the three being more of joke characters than actual contestants.
  • Spin-Off:
    • On the official VOO twitter, there's a show called "VOO Mini", inspired by Battle for Dream Island's BFDI Mini, starring a brand new cast of objects partaking in challenges for a prize. It's like the original VOO but much shorter and has nothing to do with the actual show.
    • Pager, the debuter that received the second most votes, now host a talk show called P.R.O.S where she interviews eliminated contestants using questions sent in by the viewers
    • Void Of Losers is a Prequel comic about the debut cast's lives inside the void before the events of episode ten. Additionally, there's a B-plot going on with Limey, the brother of Lemony, recruiting Water Bottle on his quest to find his sister.
  • The Unpronouncable: Team 5 Names At Once requires splicing audio clips of its members' names together in order to say it or if you're Monitor, just use the aforementioned nickname (Perfume is the only one to properly pronounce the name). Team AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, created when TV had an audio glitch upon attempting to name the team, follows this trend such that Perfume doesn't even bother saying the name.
  • Wham Episode: "Up" straight-up obliterated status-quo. And how you may ask? Well...Green Screen is now on his own since Flaggy cannot help him anymore, Candy Corn's elimination causes a chain of events that kill TVnote , the inhabitants of the Blank White Void inside TV are freed, Cat Bell replaces Blue Circle as the host since the latter went sailing out of orbit, the challenge causes everybody to get stranded on an uncharted asteroid and there's another rejoin courtesy of co-host Ring. Speaking of the host, Perfume gets abducted by an unnamed light entity who wants everything to know about a certain someone she had interacted with, setting up an interesting, science-fiction-based storyline we get to see slowly unravel.
  • Wham Line: "Eh, I didn't want to be on this game anyway. Got stuff to do." Although the line itself isn't surprising, it's the fact who said it aka freakin' Blue Rectangle.
