BULLSHIT!

The Gmod Idiot Box is a YouTube series created by DasBoSchitt. Described by some as "Valve meets Robot Chicken meets explosions", consists of an episodic mashup of skits created using the titular video game mod and set to all manner of sound clips and effects. Recurring skits include:

• The episode intros: Das Bo Schitt and his Metrocop fan #1 deal with such problems as DBS slacking off on new episodes and various Youtube annoyances.
• Harmless Shenanigans(?) with Chuckles the Cheat: Chuckles tries to play a prank, which somehow causes far more harm than intended.
• Everybody Loves Francis
• Pet Peeves The Aggressive Way With Father Grigori: The good priest deals with common grievances in a completely audacious manner.
• I'm Mac and I'm PC: PC gets constantly annoyed by Mac's superiority and often attacks him in many ways.

As of April 24, 2015, the Idiot Box clocks in at fifteen full installments, and Bo Schitt has created a metric crapton of video shorts (called GIBlets) that either tie in with the main episodes or stand alone. You can watch his works in chronological order here; here is his main channel with the other stuff. Also, beginning with Episode 12, the series became fully episodic, with the cold opens taking on an episodic arc that started in Episode 10 and continued through Duke Nukem ForeverQuest in which DBS gets a new face, only to have #1 change it back when the Internet detested it but failing to update his driving license thus getting DBS jailed when he attempted to buy liquor with it, #1 busting him out of jail after stealing Gordon Freeman's buggy, and Gordon Freeman Roaring Rampage of Revenge on #1 after finding out who stole the buggy, only to be killed by the hit-shears hired by the thug informant, and then revealing a bigger bad is watching the duo. Aside from that, characters like Chuckles the Cheat are undergoing character progression — Chuckles has reformed fully as of Episode 14 and now works as an apprentice of Dr. Hax.

Another movie of Bo Schitt's, Duke Nukem ForeverQuest, is in continuity with the Idiot Box, taking place after the events of Episode 10. It may be the beginning of a series. Aside from that, Bo Schitt has also started a side series, Youtube Avenue (co-written by and co-starring Takahata101 from Team Four Star), which is rife full of Take Thats against LPers.

Unfortunately, the channel went inactive in 2017, with no new content since. Still, it remains up for one's viewing pleasure.

• Anti-Climax:
  • In Episode 11, the Catalyst pressures Urdnot Wrex to decide on a TV channel, but gets punched across the room. Angered, he summons a Reaper starship, which approaches the Earth as dramatic music plays... only to simply have it crush the satelite dish as petty revenge.
  • The epic showdown buildup at the end of Episode 15 ends in this as well.
• Anti-Magic: Dr. Hax can pummel you clean out of God Mode.
• Art Evolution: The author has made increasingly better use of Garry's Mod throughout the series, and it definitely shows. Compare the first episode, which has the HUD and death messages showing, to the latest, which not only has those addressed, but also features stop-motion style lip movement with other stuff going on in real time, a major feat when it comes to a Gmod video. In addition, his latest works make good use of mod-assisted ragdoll animation, which the author combines with good old-fashioned physgun puppetry.
• Ascended Meme: Sort of. Dr. Hax is available to download into your own game via the Garry's Mod Toybox, and will punish you if you attack him or cheat. As a dismayed Kit Harrison learned in A Smooth Introduction to Garry's Mod, he is nigh-completely invincible, even to the undo button. To truly defeat him, you need to hit him with a monitor. In other words... COUNTER-HAX HIM!
• Ass Kicks You: This is what I do I sit on you, sit on you, sit on you...
• Atomic F-Bomb: Das Bo Schitt himself does this upon finding out his computer's dead and gone in Computer Quest.
• Author Appeal: At this point, it seems obvious that Das Bo Schitt does not like Macs, and prefers PCs. Even so, it also obvious that it has it's own share of problems, which are unavoidable.
• Author Avatar: The author's appearances consist of him either getting nagged by Metrocop #1 to create another episode, or getting his butt handed to him by said Metrocop.
• Back from the Dead:
  • The RED Demoman in Episode 10.
  • BoSchitt himself in Duke Nukem ForeverQuest.
• Bad Is Good and Good Is Bad: In The Future of Machinima, LP wants to flood Youtube with shoddy, lazily-made Let's Plays. He becomes enraged at Phil's suggestion to put more effort in videos.
  LP: Get with the times, you try-hard! Time and effort doesn't sell anymore! Now get your ass moving or else the Youtube search results WILL BE TOLERABLE FOR A WHOLE DAY!!
  • However, this trait is later passed on to Phil in Youtube Ave. Episode 2, when LP accidently suggests editing their Dark Souls II Let's Play. The mere mention of putting more effort into videos reduces Phil to a hysterical, screaming wreck.
    • Afterwards, we get to see a flashback of LP origin story when he was still a member of the Youtube demon order, after he made the same suggestion to the other members. This sent the order in a fit of panic and chaos, banishing the pale demon for his blasphemy and causing the initials "LP" to appear on his chest.
• Beam Spam: UberKleiner
• Be Careful What You Wish For: In episode 14, a Dark Souls skit has the Bearer of the Curse constantly pestering an ogre to give him their butt. Eventually, he gets his wish... by getting crushed and farted on to death.
• Berserk Button:
  • Walter White is the one who knocks. Got it?
  • Dr. Hax does NOT appreciate hackers.
  • Don't post stupid comments asking where Bo Schitt got his music from. Or Metro Cop will find you.
  • Don't destroy #1's stuff or he'll kill you. By beating you to a pulp with a tank! BY HAND!
  • Don't tell LP about putting effort into Youtube videos. Being the Card-Carrying Villain he is, he doesn't take it very well.
  • Father Grigori will hurt you if you mess with him or take his stuff.
• Big Damn Heroes:
  • #1 in The Tale of Dirty Renamon.
  • Louis in Episode 5.
• Big "NO!":
  • #1 realizing that Bo Schitt's new computer had a feminine text-to-speech voice.
  • Scout gets a few in Episode 10. Borrowed from some certain cartoons.
• Bluff the Impostor: Louis uses this tactic when he encounters two Francises in Episode 6. He roots out the fake Francis by offering the two to climb some stairs, and shoots one of the Francises when he accepts, knowing that the real Francis hates stairs. Sure enough, the fake Francis is revealed to be a BLU Spy.
• Bowel-Breaking Bricks: In Episode 5, the BLU Demoman farts a grenade before being eaten by the RED Heavy.
• Break the Haughty: One treatment out of many visited upon Mr. Goldblum in the Treat or Else short.
• Brick Joke:
  • In Episode 9, the guy from Episode 1 is still trying to break those cuffs.
  • Francis proving himself to be indestructible in Episode 2.
  • Two brick jokes Back-to-back in Episode 11: Dirty!Renamon shows up in Episode 11, trips over Chuckles the Cheat, who then gets beaten up by cops. Chuckles was just beaten up by cops a couple of skits prior.
  • Bob from Episode 3 is back in Bob WAS Building an Army, and this time, he has a tank. Too bad he pissed off #1.
  • The final conflict between Chuckles and Dennis in Episode 12 features the return of the Furious German Man.
  • The Cold Open of Episode 14 has Gordon Freeman's contact threaten to cut his nuts off if he thinks Freeman is fucking with him. The hit-shears proceed to do exactly that in Episode 15.
  • One of the first skits in Episode 15 has Mario enforcing his copyright policy on everyone who dares show Nintendo property on videos or even a child's drawing. The last skit of the video abruptly ends with a copyright strike from Nintendo because it ressembled The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask too much.
• Building Swing: The Boomer and Smoker team up to pull this off against the Survivors.
• Bunny-Ears Lawyer: #1
• Butt-Monkey:
  • Renamon, big time.
  • The representation of Mac computers always seems to fail or break in one way or another, each one a dig at the Mac's flaws (Expensive to replace, etc.)
  • Averted with Renamon in later episodes, with her being used more as a source of comedy than a literal Butt Monkey.
  • Michael De Santa in Episode 14 only.
• Call-Back:
  • Gravity Cat from Episode 2 reappears in Episode 6.
  • The baby from Episode 1 returns in The Tale of Dirty Renamon.
  • #1's candy bucket from Treat or Else returns in Update Day outside Mr. Goldblum's office.
  • The intro of Episode 12 has #1 use the blender from Duke Nukem ForeverQuest and an earlier episode's "Will It Blend" sketch to restore DBS back to his original Male_07 face.
  • During his battle with Chuckles the Cheat in Episode 12, Dennis the Douchebag uses his iPhone to turn into Furious German Man from Episode 3.
  • The second KOTH YTP has a callback to the first,with Hank's head still pinned to the moon.
  • Episode 10 onwards became more episodic in nature, with each Cold Open following up on the previous' events.
• The Cameo: The "Whiplash Abridged" segment in episode 15 has non-essential cameos from Bowser Junior, Marty McFly, Link, Tali'zorah Nar Rayya, and Garrus Vakarian.
• Can't Get Away with Nuthin': Whether it be seemingly harmless shenanigans or trying to get out of situations with his hacking skills, karma never gives Chuckles any breaks. What results from his adventures usually involve Chuckles getting blasted by Uber Kliener, arrested by the police, taking one of Dr. Hax's LUA Monitors to the face, or getting to know the wrath of the Banhammer for his troubles.
  • Seemingly subverted for once in Episode 15's Harmless Shenanigans sketch, where Chuckles jams a litterbug's bicycle wheel, causing her to fall to the ground upon trying to pedal off. Surprisingly, she takes it rather well, and both her and Chuckles share a laugh... until the bottle she threw on the train track next to them derails a speeding train and runs her over right on cue.
  • Another sketch in Episode 14 pokes fun at the ruthless, frustratingly omniscient police from Grand Theft Auto V, in which Michael De Santa practices his aim by shooting at bottles in the middle of nowhere, with no one to witness or hear his gunshots. For those who played the game before, what comes next is pretty obvious.
• Caption Humor: Frequently snuck in every so often, sometimes to cap off a short, sometimes as a Freeze-Frame Bonus
• Car Fu:
  • Performed by #1 in the Chaotic 50,000 Subscriber Milestone video. Not a minute later, he tops himself with Firetruck Fu. Then in Bob WAS Building an Army, he tops THAT with Tank Fu!
  • The series has also given us a few heaping helpings of Train Fu to go with the rest.
• Characterization Marches On: In "The Future of Machinima", Phil seems to be the one suggesting improvement while LP is content with lazy editing and unpopular Lets Play tropes. The personalities between the characters swapped somewhat when spinoff Youtube Avenue came out, with Phil being far more lazy and moronic, and LP adopting more sane and pragmatic traits.
• Cheaters Never Prosper: Hey, would you prosper if Dr. Hax hit you with a LUA Monitor every time you cheated?
• Cluster F-Bomb: Renamon is a Sir Swears-a-Lot in The Tale of Dirty Renamon to the point where you think she has Tourette's Syndrome...
• Combat Pragmatist: Frustrated over Bowser kidnapping Peach, again, Mario cuts out the boss fight and just shoots him. When it turns out that didn't finish Bowser off and Peach gets kidnapped, again, Mario takes out Peach instead.
• Commercial Switcheroo: One stinger of an Everybody Loves Francis sketch starts with what appears to be a re-enactment of a Trix cereal advert, but then gets subverted when the rabbit pulls out a machine gun that shoots exploding Johnny heads, screams in Angrish, and kills the kids. And it turns out that this is an ad for a Tommy Gun.
  Tommy Gun: It will tear you apart! (*angrish scream*)
• The Computer Is a Cheating Bastard: Quick-Draw Heavy. He even ignores the use of the "slowmo" cheat.
• Corrupt Corporate Executive: Mr. Goldblum.
• Cowboy Cop: #1. He's noted to be uncontrollably impulsive, but he's so effective they keep him around anyway.
• Curb-Stomp Battle: Episode 5 features a prime example, initiated by someone planting Louis's pills on an attacker. The resulting beatdown ends with one of them lodged in the dirt, two of them smacked aside, and a hole punched through the final unlucky sap.
• Death from Above: Gravity Cat's typical reaction to being unamused is to fly around farting out explosives, or just plain farting.
• Decomposite Character: Dr. Hax used to be the same character as PC in the series' frequent riffs on the Mac vs PC commercials, and could be assumed to be Dr. Breen himself. However, as the series went on and Bo Schitt began fleshing out the framing device of the series, the three were separated into distinct individuals, with Dr. Hax being an avatar of Breen's control over City 17 meant to keep RealityWarpers in check, and PC being an isolated character from either of them.
• Destination Defenestration: Happens to things and people alarmingly often.
• Death of a Child: Played for Black Comedy.
• Diabolus ex Nihilo: The mysterious UberKleiner likes to randomly appear in front of hapless victims and blast them with his Beam Spam in various skits.
• Didn't Think This Through: The Heavy's attempt to get his hamburger back in episode 13, by having the Medic use a shotgun to blast his head up onto the girder where it landed. He manages to grab the burger with his mouth, rolls off the girder and lands on the ground, but he could only watch as the Tank then proceeds to smash his motionless, headless body into dozens of Sandviches flying in all directions.
• Disproportionate Retribution:
  • The whole point of the Pet Peeves skits.
  • This is #1's default state of being.
  • Episode 6: You'll follow proper theater courtesy...if you know what's good for you.
  • Derrick knocks Alex's treat out of his hand...causing Alex to destroy the planet out of sheer rage.
  • Commander Shepard's response to being flipped off? (Attempted) Point blank headshot.
  • Dr. Hax throws cathode-ray monitors at anyone who gets caught hacking or cheating, with considerable force.
  • Scout knocked before Walter White. Walter broke Scout's neck with the door, then had Jesse melt his body into bloody mulch.
• Don't Try This at Home: Inverted in Episode 8 with a Will It Blend? spoof.
• The Door Slams You:
  • Lots of times, courtesy of #1. Notable in that standing away from the door won't help. More often than not, he breaks it off its hinges such that it flies into whomever he's chasing.
  • In Computer Quest, Chuck Norris kicks Das Bo Schitt's front door off its hinges when looking for #1. Saxton Hale breaks the wall next to where the door lands. Saxton then moves the door to the wall opening, so he can kick the door at Chuck Norris, hitting him.
• Dope Slap: Dr. Hax gives one to The Duke for his "Unwanted Software Tampering" remark.
• Double Entendre: The RED Heavy slams his fist into the bottom of a table repeatedly, trying to hit a secret button. From Max's point of view, it looks like...something completely different.
• Double-Meaning Title: The "Idiot Box" in the title refers both to a slang term for a television set and to the amount of hilarious idiocy in the show itself.
• Drives Like Crazy: Headcrab Zombie
• Dull Surprise: The astronauts in Episode 10.
  Astronauts: "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa."
• Dynamic Entry: #1; Louis in Episode 5; eventually, Augustus Cole pulls it off with a train.
• Early-Installment Weirdness: Given that the series has been going for almost 7 years at the time of writing, this is bound to happen:
  • Comparing episode 1 to episode 15 the animation is far more stilted (if characters are even animated), death notifications and the HUD can occasionally be seen, and many of the skits are far more simplistic.
  • In episode 2, Doctor Hax gets pissed at Pyramid Head for killing a cheater when he was about to do it himself, and pelts him with dozens of CRT monitors in retaliation. This is a far cry from his later appearances where he's willing to accept help from Chuckles in taking down Dennis and, although he still bans Chuckles for using cheats, gives him a lighter ban for the assistance.
  • The first episode of Youtube Avenue features Phil suggesting to LP that they improve the quality of their content, with LP vehemently refusing. From episode two onwards, these roles are reversed.
• Enemy Mine:
  • DBS and #1 spend most of the Chaotic 50,000 Subscriber Milestone video fighting each other, until they see Francis videotaping the whole thing, and gang up on him.
  • Dr. Hax and Chuckles the Cheat work together to stop an even worse hacker, Dennis the Douchebag. In the end, Dennis is banned for a month, and Chuckles is also banned, but is given a lighter sentence, one week, for helping stop Dennis.
• Entendre Failure: The G-Man buys a "male enhancement" product, but his thick-as-a-post wife Judith Mossman has no idea what he's talking about.
• Even Evil Has Standards: Ubisoft isn't the best company in the world, but even its logo-headed rep thinks lowly of Mario's ridiculous, trigger-happy copyright policies.
  Ubisoft Guy: Compared to you, I'm like a saint.
• Exactly What It Says on the Tin: In Episode 12's first Team Fortress 2 skit, the can of Axe literally sprays axes, as the poor RED Spy found to his dismay.
• Extreme Omnivore: Scout, if Episode 8 is to be believed
• Fartillery:
  • In Episode 2: Power to main thrusters!
  • Gravity Cat in Episode 6, where it suffocates nearly the entire cinema because some dude wouldn't put his phone away.
• First-Person Dying Perspective: In "GIBlets: Bob WAS building an Army...", after Bob destroys Metrocop #1's new Playstation delivery, #1 flies into a rage, assaulting Bob in comedically-violent ways. #1's final act is to ban Bob with Dr. Hax's giant Banhammer, and Bob's final view is of the hammer coming down upon him.
  Server Message: Bob was banned permanently.
• Flashback Cut: The Cold Open of Episode 11 has one brief flashback to Episode 9.
• Flawed Prototype: #1 was the first Combine based on a human, and the first and only attempt at a wholly artificial Combine agent as opposed to a converted human. He ended up being stronger and faster than other soldiers, but was easily distracted and acts on impulse.
• Freeze-Frame Bonus: A frequent source of the visual component to the show's comedy.
• Fun Personified: Notice how often #1 appears in this list?
• Funny Background Event: Happens fairly often, from extended beatdowns to isolated, inexplicable events.
• Genre Savvy: Mr. Goldblum in "Update Day"
  Goldblum: Episode Three isn't going to delay itself...oh, wait; yes, it will! Hah, the rich guy's a jerk! Classic!
• Gory Discretion Shot:
  • What the baby did to Sniper.
  • Bill siccing Renamon on Ellis in Episode 8.
• Groin Attack:
  • #1 uses this one on the Author Avatar in Episode 4. Louis also performs it on Francis, sending him rocketing into the air.
  • Apparently, this is what the Medic considers an 'examination'.
  • Don't forget what happens when RED Scout eats BLU Scout's Force-A-Nature.
    RED Scout: I... eat... your... Force-A-Nature.
    *BLU Scout brings up his gun; is taken by RED Scout and eaten*
    RED Scout: Lot of good that gun did ya! *laughs madly*
    *BLU Scout shakes fist in anger*
    RED Scout: What, you're gonna cry? You're gonna cry now? Yeah, I dare ya, Rage Quit! Come on—
    BLU Scout: *wham* ^note The BLU Scout punches the RED Scout in the stomach, firing the Force-A-Nature, which was pointing down, launching the RED Scout into the air.
  It got worse after that:

  RED Heavy (on a pedal-power helicopter): *laughing* ^note The helicopter was called the "Heavy's Poopy Copter" in the credits.

  RED Scout: *sees what he's heading for* Oh cra-

  *Camera shows BLU Scout looking up, with RED Scout Ludicrous Gibs falling*

  RED Heavy: Oh, this is bad!
  • Inverted in Episode 9:
    Nick: Coach, you do that again, and I will bury you alive.
  • Fred gets his voice fixed by being hit in the groin repeatedly.
  • Gordon Freeman receives this from the hit-shear for his troubles in the Episode 15 cold open.
• Had the Silly Thing in Reverse: When #1 breaks DBS out of prison by smashing through the wall in a car, he checks his mirror to back out of the hole he made. However, he had the silly thing in drive, and goes forwards through the rest of the prison, into the prison yard on the other side.
• Hannibal Lecture: Mr. Goldblum lectures #1 about Halloween, of all things.
• Helicopter Blender: Scout falls victim to this, courtesy of Heavy, in Episode 8.
• Heroic Mime: Parodied twice in the series:
  • In Episode 12, Gordon Freeman and Chell learn that Gordon's the father of their baby on a Maury-like show, who proceed to start flailing wildly at each other as they argue, all without making a single sound. The host can only glance at the camera in confusion as the scene unfolds.
  • In Episode 14, Freeman responds to a telephone call by the thug informant. He nods maliciously as the informant tells him of Dasboschitt and #1's whereabouts... until the latter assumes his client is giving him the silent treatment and accuses him of ratting him out. Cue the informant threatening to cut off Freeman's balls, while Freeman keeps nodding his head at the phone in protest.
• Hilarious Outtakes: In the credits, from Episode 6 onwards.
• Hitbox Dissonance: Parodied with Dark Souls III: WTF are Hitboxes Edition, in which a mushroom pokes thin air, causing the player, who was standing several feet away, to go flying into a nearby mountain.
• How We Got Here: Update Day starts with a glitched TF2 game with strange things happening to the BLU team, and an explosion at the RED base; the rest of the episode is Mr. Goldblum reviewing the game to fix the problem.
• Humiliation Conga: Fred experiences an epic one in Episode 8.
• If You Can Read This: In the MOMMY! SFM video, the Pringles can is actually a can of Prongles "tater chips". Viewing the video in HD reveals that the flavor of the chips are Diarrhea and that the contents of the can weighed 3 tons. The Combine logo and a Metrocop can be seen on the can as well.
• I'm a Humanitarian: Heavy
  Heavy: I am full of... Demoman!

• Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: Episode 5...just...Episode 5.
• Improbable Infant Survival: Parodied in the Five Nights at Freddy's skit of Episode 5, when a crazed, panicked Foxy pulls out a knife on the kids staring at him and proceeds to stab the Star Child. The health bar from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim appears above the latter's head, not even draining an inch.
• Incoming Ham: In The Tale of Dirty Renamon.
  "Numbuh 83!!! Da Cole Traaiinnn!!!"
• Instant Soprano: Inverted in Episode 8 when Fred has the pitch of his voice reduced to normal after he gets bludgeoned in the groin repeatedly with a monkey wrench.
• Jerkass: Mr. Goldblum in the Treat or Else short. He's swiftly, frighteningly, and awesomely brought down a few pegs, showing shades of Jerk with a Heart of Gold here and there.
• Just Eat Gilligan:
  • After she gets kidnapped again, and not putting out for the last rescue, Mario lets out an enraged Atomic F-Bomb, flies past a trembling Bowser, and punches Peach square in the face as a KO screen appears.
  • The first skit featuring The Walking Dead characters shows what would it be like for everyone if Ben was killed off earlier.
• Kill It with Fire: How Heavy eventually gets rid of the babies.
• Klatchian Coffee: The effects of Heavy drinking Scout's BONK! in Update Day. Turns out to be the root cause of all the 'glitches' that occurred during the game.
• Laugh Track: As a parody of Sit Coms, the Everybody Loves Francis segments always end with this, followed by a theme song (the Everybody Loves Raymond theme), and a title card.
• Leet Lingo: #1 lapses into this, but only when he has access to the speech function on Bo Schitt's computer.
• Letting the Air out of the Band: In episode 12, when Max Payne is doing a dramatic dive, dramatic music plays along with it, only to slow to a halt when the dramatic x-ray camera thing shows his hip bone shattering upon hitting the ground, because he landed on his keys.
• Literal-Minded:
  Rochelle: Don't make me get ugly with you!

• Lost Food Grievance: In episode 9, Alex's reaction when Derrick knocks his treat into the water is to incinerate the entire planet.
• Mad Libs Dialogue: "I hate Louis."
• Made of Explodium: A great many things.
• Made of Iron: Francis
  "Whew. Good thing I'm indestructible."
• Megaton Punch: Mario delivers one to Princess Peach in Episode 10.
• Metaplot: The intros from Episode 2 onward. The blog explains that the Idiot Box started as a pirate television show airing in City 17 created by Das Bo Schitt. One of the Combines discovered it, but it got such great response from them that Dr. Breen allowed Bo Schitt to return to his own home outside of the jurisdiction of the Combines so he can continue making episodes. To see to it that he does on a regular basis, Metrocop #1 is quartered in his home.
• Mind over Matter: Dr. Hax, according to Word of God.
• Mistaken for Masturbating: In Episode 9, the Heavy gets so annoyed by Max's endless banter during their poker game that he presses the "arm" button underneath the table, which doesn't work at first so Heavy continues to mash it. From Max's perspective at the opposite side of the table, it looks like... well, this trope.
• Mood Whiplash: Zig-zagged in the Episode 1 segment where a flashback of Chuckles being hit in the head by one of Dr. Hax's computer screens abruptly cuts to Chuckles inside of a car in a field. We then see that the car is sitting on a giant catapult, right in front of a big hole in the middle of the field with Dr. Hax right beside the car, presumably there to release the catapult. Sure enough, we then see the catapult launch the car into the hole with Chuckles inside of it. Cue Chuckles spontaneously body-humping to 'What Is Love' while falling down the hole before landing with a long thud. The mood turns ominous when he wakes up at the bottom and picks up a lamp to brighten up the area, only for Uber Kleiner to suddenly appear in a jumpscare and blast Chuckles with his beam like he did to Alyx in a previous skit.
• More Dakka: In The Watchable Subscriber Milestone Video, #1 frags the hell out of a microphone after he gets some rather nasty feedback; he uses so much more dakka that his gun spontaneously combusts.
• Mundane Made Awesome: In Episodes 4 and 5, Hax in the real world of the series are triggered with a cell phone; a dramatic camera effect declares what was just turned on in big, epic letters. Other episodes employ this trope in spades: we have Das Bo Schitt getting hit by a car, Francis tripping over a teddy bear...the list goes on. +EXTREME COMPUTER BUILDING+
• Musical Slapstick Montage: Silent Hill: Homecoming in 30 seconds, to the tune of "Yakety Sax".
• My Car Hates Me: Parodied in Episode 7. A guy tries to escape from #1's wrath, only for a car, a doorknob, and a telephone to all produce the "failed ignition" sound.
• Nightmare Face: UberKleiner near the end of Episode 1.
• Offscreen Moment of Awesome: In the 200K Subscriber Special, #1 and Chuck Norris have a fight... And the scene was missing, apparently, showing the result being a crater and #1 being victorious.
• Off with His Head!: "Old Spice body wash can't block odor for sixteen hours!" "WHAT?!" *BLU Demoman punches off the right side of the screen, which loops around and punches his own head off*
• Oh, Crap!: The Scout has a few since he has an "Oh Crap" voice sample, but there are other moments.
• Ominous Latin Chanting: In Episode 8, #1's tirade against YouTube is set to Neodammerung.
• Once per Episode: Parodied. The series usually has at least one obligatory Team Fortress 2 skit per episode. Episode 11 at first seems to avert this, but the credits at the end are suddenly interrupted by a Stylistic Suck skit featuring a Heavy with a weird expression blinking repeatedly at the camera, before a Sandvich hits him in the face and he starts sliding in circles face-down on the ground.

• Out-of-Character Alert: The RED and BLU spies occasionally make these mistakes when infiltrating other games, such as forgetting that Francis hates everything, or that Solaire of Astora greets with his palms facing out.
• Ow, My Body Part!: Goldblum twice. In Duke Nukem ForeverQuest "Ow, my children!" when Duke kicks him in the balls, and in The Tale of Dirty Renamon, "Ow, my checkbook!" when the titular Renamon carjacks him.
• The Pollyanna: Fred is of the "funny to watch him suffer while totally oblivious to how much his life sucks" variety. However, the Medic did fix his voice, so it isn't all bad.
• Potty Emergency: Don't mix Bonk with Sandvich!
• Pressure-Sensitive Interface: To make the elevator come down faster, not only does #1 press the button by launching at it with his head, he then wails on it with his crowbar.
• Precision F-Strike: Episode 12's first TF2 skit: After getting laughed at by BLU Scout, RED Spy throws the can of Axe at him while mumbling "Bitch".
• Quip to Black: Sent up and played with throughout the series.
• Rage Quit: Done twice.
  • A Boomer gets frustrated while playing Left 4 Dead (as a Boomer) and tries to commit suicide, with "RAGEQUIT" appearing on screen.
  • An overpowered RED Demoman is shot point-blank in the head by BLU Scout. A few skits later, BLU Scout is building an impressive house out of Minecraft blocks, until the undead RED Demoman (wearing a creeper skin) destroys it in a huge explosion. It is then shown that BLU Scout was playing Minecraft on a computer all along. He then slams the keyboard with "RAGEQUIT" on top of it.
• Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs:
  • The Heavy in Update Day, when he goes absolutely Kenshiro on Rochelle and Francis.
  • And let's not forget Saxton Hale channeling Jotaro Kujo / Star Platinum against Chuck Norris's crotch in Computer Quest.
• Reality Warper: Chuckles the Cheat has discovered how to warp reality using a cell phone, according to Word of God. Dr. Hax is the only man keeping him in check.
• "The Reason You Suck" Speech: In episode 3 of Youtube Ave, Phil asks LP to look over his Final Fantasy Hyrule: Zelda Returns unboxing video. The video consists of Phil rambling on about an incident at Starbucks while a fire breaks out in the room. LP, after eating an entire bottle, gives his thoughts.
  LP: What I just watched was singlehandedly the worst Youtube video I have ever seen! At no point in your fifteen minute rambling bitchfest was there anything close to what the video was advertising. I dislike this video and may God have mercy on your soul.
  Phil: Wow! You don't have to be so closed minded about it!
  LP:(facepalming) You asked me to look at this because people were bullying you. After reading the bully comments, I want to bully you as well! You know what this video accomplished? It made Youtube comments right. HOW DID YOU MANAGE THAT?!

• Ridiculously Human Robot: Metrocop #1, according to Word of God (see All There in the Manual above). He is the product of an experiment to create an army of androids to supplement the Combine forces, but he proved to be a Cowboy Cop and the experiment was terminated after his creation in favor of old-fashioned brainwashing. #1 is also a Bunny-Ears Lawyer, so he remains the only robot in the Combine army.
• Roaring Rampage of Revenge: #1 very nearly pulls one off in Episode 8 when he realizes that the Youtube channel format has been changed.
• Running Gag:
  • The recurring appearances of Dr. Hax. If you're hacking something, he'll find you no matter where you are, yell his catchphrase, and smash you with a computer monitor. As of Episode 12, Dr. Hax has the Banhammer, a large mallet with joined CRT monitors as the head. If the word "BAN" is on the monitors, one hit will ban the offender from reality for a certain length of time.
  • Louis chasing after a jar of pills.
  • The DBS Author Avatar is nagged by #1 to make the next installment. This carries over into non-Idiot Box works.
  • "Wanna hear the most annoying sound in the world?"

• Serious Business: Halloween candy to #1. As evidenced here, he's more than willing to prove it.
• "Shaggy Dog" Story: The last sketch of Episode 15 features a buildup of the showdown between an angry, roided-up Chris Redfield and a Wesker-faced moon. Just as the former is about to punch the looming moon as it falls on him, the video abruptly ends with a copyright strike from Nintendo.
• Shoot the Shaggy Dog: A running plotline in Episode 4 involves Chuckles being trapped in an elevator. He tries many different ways of getting out of it and tries to attract the attention of the security camera all to no avail. He finally makes it out via hacking, only to take a computer monitor to the head from Dr. Hax.
• Shout-Out:
  • Among the cars on the parking lot in Episode 6's Pet Peeves, you can clearly see the General Lee.
  • Episode 7 features a homage to a Budweiser commercial.
  • Episode 8 features a certain oft-quoted line from Troll 2.
    • Likewise, Episode 4 has a memetic line from Network.
  • From the beginning of the same episode, we have #1 channeling his inner Kenshiro. With a crowbar.
  • The Stinger of episode 9 gives one to the unrelated Garry's Mod series The Adventures of Coach.
  • The Stinger for Duke Nukem ForeverQuest is an homage to one of the bad endings for Streets of Rage 3.
  • Sarge shows up in episode 9 when Alyx mentions the gravity gun being used to clear minefields.
  • Episode 10: The super finish sound and "K.O!." announcer that plays when Mario punches out Peach are straight out of Street Fighter IV.
  • Episode 12's DayZ sketch. How does the guy react to slamming head first into doors that won't open? With Sideshow Bob's rake growl from The Simpsons.
  • Dr Hax is mimicking Donald Sutherland in Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) every time he calls someone out.

    • The Crank Wankers skit (featuring Sniper performing crank calls) is one to Crank Yankers.

• Take That!:
  • Fred is actually a real YouTube user who posts videos of himself with his voice sped up. This video was the basis for the scene in episode 8, where Das Bo Schitt apparently found Fred quite annoying.
  • The Tale of Dirty Renamon was created solely to spite viewers who complained about Bo Schitt's depiction of Renamon in his series. The reason Renamon was treated as a Butt-Monkey in the G Mod Idiot Box episodes in the first place was because DBS got tired of seeing Renamon everywhere.^note "For the longest time, I didn't know who Renamon even was, but her appearance was about as common as that fucking obnoxious "awesome smiley" you see everywhere. People's in-game spray logos, Steam avatars, YouTube avatars, Renamon tribute videos pop up in "related videos" when not related whatsoever, a number of un-creative people's fursonas were of Renamon, models of it on the Garrysmod.org front page and even re-models of Alyx Vance in Half-Life 2. Irritation with it's constant appearance grew until Google images started wishing the destruction of my eyeballs by favoring porn images of Renamon more and more when I was searching for images to go into the videos." - DasBoSchitt, September 26th, 2009[1]
  • A Youtube viral comment meme called Bob is on DBS' hate list. The 2013 resurgence of Bob in the comment field of many Youtube videos prompted him to create a short that ends with a sharp Take That! against those spreading the viral meme.
  • "The Future Of Machinima" delivers quite a few to DarksydePhil and Machinima.com.
  • YouTube Avenue appears to be the beginning of a series entirely dedicated to this, towards YouTube video archetypes. In the guise of a sitcom.
  • Episode 15 contains two very strong take thats at Nintendo's YouTube monetization policy (which is currently a very strong controversy among LPers and Machinima-makers alike).
  • The "I'm a Mac and I'm a PC" shorts manage to twist the original commercials in favor of PC, usually by pointing out how expensive Macs are compared to PCs, though occasionally by simply inflicting Amusing Injuries on the Mac stand-in.
• Take That, Critics!:
  • Negative comments about the "misuse" of Renamon in Episode 8 prompted the creation of this.
  • 2015's April Fools' entry is actually this - it was meant to be a take that to those shouting for DBS to complete his videos faster, complete with dated jokes and numerous Stylistic Sucks. And yet it's still met with glowing responses and the fans lapped it up enough to give him time to work on the real Episode 15 (which came out at the end of the month).
• The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You: After rage quitting in Minecraft due to a vengeful Creeper/Demo hybrid kamikaze-ing his house, Scout decides to take a break by watching a Nyan Cat video on Youtube, but instead finds Uber Kleiner on the computer screen, ready to blast him with the most annoying sound in the world.
• This Is Gonna Suck: In Episode 5, Alyx tries to use the slow mo cheat on Quick Draw Heavy, and still loses, getting thrown across the room into a rack of computer parts. She sees Dr. Hax creeping up behind her, then looks at all the computer monitors on the shelves.
• Throw the Dog a Bone:
  • In Episode 12, Chuckles helps Dr. Hax ban Dennis the Douchebag, a similar cheater to Chuckles. While Chuckles still ends up banned, Dr. Hax decreases Chuckles' ban time to just a week as opposed to Dennis's month.
  • Spoofed in Episode 13. While Chuckles' prank did not outright cause the demise of the victim, the victim was a Jerkass litterbug who threw an empty bottle onto a train track. The sketch initially plays like this trope is being played straight, with DBS talking about giving Chuckles a break every once in a while, then brutally subverts it when a train derails because of said bottle and crushes the victim.
• Those Wacky Nazis:
  Angry German Kid evolved into Furious German Man!
  • Also, the Femi-Nazis in the April Fools YouTube Poop Bobby Will Never Be MLG.

• Time Paradox: Francis causes one in Episode 4.
• Troll: #1 in the TEH GMOD IDIOT BALL. He's even got his own trollface.
• Pinball Projectile: In Episode 13's The Walking Dead skit, Lee teaches Clementine how to aim and shoot a gun at a glass bottle in one of the carts of a running train. The latter misses her shot, but it ricochets and hits Ben in the head instead, who was standing outside the train cart. Shortly after, both witness Ben's body tumble next to the cart... and then everyone had ice cream and no one else died. The End.
• Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny: In "Computer Quest", #1 vs. Chuck Norris (#1 wins). Later in the same episode, a pissed off Chuck Norris vs. Saxton Hale, who door-kicks him into a tree, pummels him where it hurts, before throwing him, tree and all, into the sun..
• Uncomfortable Elevator Moment: #1 and Renamon in an elevator...
• Understatement: The Medic's reaction to accidentally blowing up the Soldier and the Scout? "How embarrassing!"
• Unreadably Fast Text: In episode 11, several lines of text flashes on the screen for a split second after Mac's death in the I'm a Mac and I'm a PC skit.

• Viewers Are Morons: Parodied in the Cold Open of Episode 7, where an unscrupulous YouTube user asks about a song in an Idiot Box episode, despite the very clear notice that songs are listed in the description. #1 is quick to express his disapproval.
• Well-Intentioned Extremist: DasBoSchitt himself. He has been accused as being a Renamon hater due to repeatedly killing her in his videos as well as other offensive portrayals in The Tale of Dirty Renamon, but his reasons for doing this are to use her as a vessel against those who use her for porn, making him more of a Renamon defender.
• Wham Shot: From episode 14 the image of Chuckles flinging a monitor like Dr. Hax does
  • And prior to that in episode 12, one of Dr. Hax's monitors flying past Chuckles from behind to hit Dennis the Douchebag
• Would Hurt a Child: Kids don't get any special treatment in the series. They get punched across the room, tackled by angry Italian plumbers, or stabbed by a certain, very unstable animatronic as Black Comedy.
• Wrap Around: The BLU Demoman punches his own head off in episode 10 this way.
• You Are Number 6: #1, naturally.
• You Bastard!: Bo Schitt responded to the "Bob's Army" chainposts on his videos by having Bob destroy #1's PS4. After killing Bob, the video ends with #1 despairing in his room over the loss, while a caption says "You just had to bring Bob back didn't you?"
