Go To

Nemesis Revenge is a series of animations by Patafoin parodying Sonic Mania. Unlike Tails Keeps Sonic Alive, which attempts to replicate all of the game mechanics and only features minor tweaks to the story, Nemesis Revenge takes the story in a new direction, such as not going through the Zones in order and giving the Hard Boiled Heavies a more sinister plot.

Season 1 can be found here, and the first episode of Season 2 is found here.

This series contains examples of

  • Affably Evil: Dr. Robotnik, who teams up with Knuckles in an Enemy Mine situation against the Heavies in Press Garden Zone.
  • Animation Bump: Episode 7, Metal Sonic's Prank is notably better animated than the first six episodes, making characters like Sonic more expressive and giving Heavy King a walking animation. Episode 5 gave Robotnik's sprites moving joints and more custom sprites.
  • Big Bad Ensemble: Dr. Robotnik and the Hard Boiled Heavies, as with the game the animation is based off.
  • Continuity Nod: This series actually takes place after Tails Keeps Sonic Alive. After five Eggrobos were humiliated by getting destroyed by Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, they sought the power of the Phantom Ruby, kicking off the plot.
  • Friendly Enemy: Heavy Shinobi seems to be this to Knuckles... somewhat.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Heavy Shinobi (for some reason) helps Knuckles sabotage the rest of the Heavies in Oil Ocean Zone. It doesn't stick, as the Heavies manage to reset his alliance by beating him up.
  • Revenge: The supposed reason that the Hard Boiled Heavies (previously Eggrobos destroyed in the previous series) are doing what they're doing, hence the title.
  • Unexplained Recovery: Despite being destroyed, the Eggrobos from Tails Keeps Sonic Alive are back, and they used the Phantom Ruby to transform into the Hard Boiled Heavies and get revenge.
  • Wham Shot: While the series has been going in it's own direction with it's shenanigans, the first major difference between the game and the animation is that the Heavies upgraded the Phantom Ruby in Stardust Speedway. What this means is currently unclear.
