Manga Women's Eden (オンナのソノ, Onna no Sono, lit. "Women's Garden") is an original YouTube channel where manga is written and read aloud by voice actors. It is an anthology series focusing on the struggles of female characters who take different attitudes and actions in life.

The original Japanese channel can be found here. The English channel can be found here.

Manga Women's Eden features examples of the following tropes:

  • Abusive Mom: Reika is revealed to be one in the Perspective Flip of A Woman Who Desperately Wants To Be Someone Else...She Mimics And Copies Everything!, forcing her daughter Shoko to cook meals for her.
  • Age-Inappropriate Dress: Near the end of this story, Rika still dresses in jirai-kei fashion well into her fourties and still posts selfies to get men's attention. Understandably, the men who see her selfies are grossed out for her immaturity and the fact no one would put up with a "minefield girl" in her forties.
  • Book Ends: The episode What happens to a girl who is relying on sugar daddies, when she becomes 35 years old? starts with Manami's mother and ends with Manami herself saying the same line about their own daughters:
"If only you weren't here, I wouldn't be suffering this much... Really, I shouldn't have given birth to you."
  • Compensated Dating: The episode What happens to a girl who is relying on sugar daddies, when she becomes 35 years old? focuses on Manami earning money by these means. However, it's deconstructed as time passes, as other girls who relied on sugar daddies also had careers and jobs other than that unlike her. As a result, Manami ends up pregnant and having to work at a hostess club.
  • Dead Person Impersonation: Near the end of A Woman Who Desperately Wants To Be Someone Else...She Mimics And Copies Everything! [sic], Lei seemingly died in a car crash after failing to kill Reika. However, after returning home, she acted nicer towards her daughter Shoko. Turns out Reika was the one who died in the car accident, and Lei has successfully taken her place.
  • Gold Digger: Miho is a sympathetic example. She chased after money after her poor mother took her own life, earning it from sex work to hostess clubs. She seemed finally content when a rich CEO named Mitsuo-san proposed her to marry, but after he died and passed down his wealth to her, she found out he had a huge amount of debt and all her property was seized, leading her to go back to the hostess club only to be rejected and eventually end up homeless.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: When Lei visits Reika's house and meets her husband, she starts feeling envy to the point of wanting to take Reika's place.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: The titular Rika from What happens to a "Minefield Girl" when she turns 40...? is a moody young woman into jirai-kei fashionnote , which leads to men avoiding her to protect themselves. The reason is shown when she dates Kenji, whom she verbally abuses for everything until he breaks up with her.
  • Host Club: In this story, after voluntarily retiring from her job and finding out her otaku "knights" grew old, Himeko discovered host clubs and they treated her like the princess she thought herself to be. As a result, she ended up addicted to such until she grew too old for them and spent herself broke.
  • I Just Want to Be You: Lei from A Woman Who Desperately Wants To Be Someone Else...She Mimics And Copies Everything! [sic] decides to take an example from her old-time friend Reika's clothes and fashion to get everyone's attention. However, she goes off the deep end, turning her desire to be like Reika into one to become her.
  • Jerkass Realization: At the end of this story, a 55-year-old Himeko breaks down crying after a young boy thanked her, as she realized too late about how much of a jerk she was in her youth.
  • Otaku: Himeko from The tragic fate of a woman who wanted to be treated like a princess forever liked anime, manga, and karaoke since high school. Moreover, she used her status of "princess of the otaku club"note  to have her male otaku entourage tend to her every whim.
  • Pretender Diss: In A Woman Who Desperately Wants To Be Someone Else...She Mimics And Copies Everything! [sic], Lei's imitation of her former best friend Reika earns her the hate of the latter's fans. Not that it stops her, though.
  • Really Gets Around: Himeko slept with many men at her company in an attempt to copy what her superior Choko-san apparently did. However, her charms didn't work on Yuki-san. This is deconstructed, as her relentless attempts of flirting with Yuki-san even on his wedding day caused her superiors to find out and order her to take a break before demoting her to a smaller branch.
  • The Tease: Deconstructed in The tragic fate of a woman who wanted to be treated like a princess forever: When Himeko found out her charms didn't work on Yuki-san, she tried to flirt harder to steal him from her superior Choko-san. Moreover, she didn't stop trying to flirt with Yuki-san even on his wedding day, causing her superiors to find out and order her to take a break before demoting her to a smaller branch.
