Manga Room is a original YouTube video channel where manga is written out and read out loud by voice actors. It is a Rom Com anthology series starring different characters. The English channel is here. The original Japanese version can be found here.

This series provides examples of:

  • Abduction Is Love: Mana fell in love with her classmate Minato. She tried to get his attention by having her servants kidnap him by carrying his bed to her mansion while he was asleep. He didn't take it very well.
  • Accidental Kiss:
    • Haruto accidentally kisses Tamaki when they crash into each other while he was trying to buy a limited edition manga.
    • Masaki receives one from Maria when she accidentally trips over him while he is also engaged to Erika, the daughter of the head of a big company. Maria turns out to be one of Erika's maids and is also part of her secret test to confirm Masaki's true feelings about her after finding out about their kiss.
  • Adoption Diss: Makoto is adopted by his uncle and aunt after his parents passed away, however they neglect him in favor of his cousin, Yutaka, and they never praise him for anything he did while.
  • Beautiful All Along: Some stories feature a plain-looking girl that will be revealed to be beautiful.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: Ren Matsushita and Sakura Hanomoto were childhood friends and dating each other. Unfortunately, their relationship was cut short due to Sakura's death and it took Ren a long time to recover.
  • Deserted Island: After Sana knocked out Shota after he gave her bread, they both found themselves on an deserted island and are forced to work together to survive. It is later revealed that it was all an test by Sana's grandfather to see if Sana is fit to run the family company after her father passed away.
  • Dine and Dash: Ayano was a homeless woman who went to Makoto's ramen shop and order some ramen but she couldn't pay for it and apologized for thinking of dining and dashing. Luckily Makoto didn't care and didn't call the police and gave her the ramen for free.
  • Disguised in Drag: Yuzusa is tasked by Manaka's father to monitor her behavior by transferring him into an all-girls school, which she currently attends. He also has to wear a female school uniform and a wig to maintain his cover. Due to his appearance, two other girls in the school are attracted to him, causing him to have an unwanted harem around him, including Manaka.
  • Dustbin School: Toshiki transferred into a former all-girls school which recently became co-ed, however, the school is infamously known for its delinquent female students.
  • Face of a Thug: Daisuke is tall and often feared by most people for his scary appearance, in reality, he is just an otaku.
  • Fake Pregnancy: In "A Ninja Girl (Kunoichi) Got Married To Me. I'm Trying To Save Our Ninja Village," Hanako lies about Takeru getting her pregnant to drive his wife Miu away and have him all to herself. However, Miu counted on it to recruit an elite troop of ninjas from the Amagakure village to help Takeru after Hanako helped Taro Kobukuro overthrow him and take over the Hidden Cloud Village.
  • Fake Relationship: Arisa asks Takuto to pretend to be her fiancé, fearing an important client would back out from a deal if she refuses to go out with him.
  • False Friend: Claire's circle of friends ditched her when she became poor after her father's company went bankrupt and they even mocked her when they see her. They change their attitude towards her when they find out that she became rich again.
  • Foreign Exchange Student: Takashi becomes one when he decides to study abroad in America after his ex-girlfriend breaks up with him after finding out that she was cheating on him.
  • Formerly Fat: In this story, Runa was bullied by Minami during their high school days because of her chubby appearance, though she started losing her weight after graduating from high school. Because of her different appearance, everybody had no idea it was her during the high school reunion party until Minami recognized her.
  • Formerly Fit: Emma is a normally a strict student president but she has a weakness to sweets especially cakes. Riku takes advantage of this and fed her cakes in an effort to get her to be more soft on him. As a result she gained weight and was made fun of by her schoolmates. Fortunately with Riku and his mother's help, Emma lost all the weight that she gained.
  • Gold Digger:
    • Rika Kurachi breaks up with her boyfriend Yosuke because she heard of his father's company being bought by another company, thinking it would go out of business, and she also tells him that she only dated him just for his money. However, the company turns out to be more successful after its acquisition, causing Rika to try to get back with Yosuke again, only for him to refuse her.
    • Moe cheats on Junya with another man and then breaks up with him. She tries to get back with Junya when he became a succesful Youtuber and her new boyfriend turned out to be a gambler who lied about being rich, Junya tells her off that he already fell in love with Sakura.
  • Gratuitous Ninja:
  • Gyaru Girl: Tomoka is a gyaru who likes to pick on Yusaku, much to his annoyance. When he couldn't take her teasing anymore, he lies to her about being engaged, hoping to gross her out and get her off his back. Much to his surprise, it hurt her feelings. When Yusaku asked her about it, Tomoka confessed she did this because she actually liked him.
  • Hikikomori: After Yutaka was called out by his crush, Yuko, for looking down on Makoto, he becomes a shut-in and refuses to leave his room.
  • Honest Axe: Shinji accidentally dropped his phone in the school pond. A spirit named Yurika emerged from the pond with two phones and asked Shinji which phone belongs to him, one a brand new phone and a beat up old one. He answered honestly, and she gave him both phones as a reward. Ren saw the whole thing and deliberately dropped his own phone and tried to claim that the new iPhone Pro Max is his but Yurika saw through him and kept both phones. Things went worse for Ren, as his phone was given to a girl by Yurika (disguised as a schoolgirl) and saw other's pictures and shaming them for being poor.
  • Hypocrite: Natsume claims it's fine for her to cheat on Rei, however she cannot stand being the one to be cheated on.
    Natsume: It's okay for me to cheat, but I don't want anyone to cheat on me! I can't stand being the one to get dumped!
  • Identical Stranger: Akiho Kyomoto looks exactly like Sakura Hanomoto, who was Ren Matsushita's childhood friend and girlfriend until she suddenly passed away.
  • Idol Singer: I Ran Away With A Beautiful Idol Girl And Something Terrible Happened stars Sana as a runaway idol chased by her manager and sheltered by Shota, who is a stage construction manager. She tells Shota that the reason she ran away was because her manager told her that they're going to make a primetime TV show about her group, and for that she had to spend a night with the producer.
  • King Incognito: Takuto works as a sales representative for Techno Lion, a systems company, his boss named Arisa asks him to pretend to be her fiancé, fearing Kuzu, an important client from Kuzu Mountain for the company, would back out from a major deal if she refuses to go out with him. After hearing their "engagement", Kuzu asks Arisa to bring Takuto to the party with an intent to talk ill of him while making himself look good in front of Arisa. Kuzu's father arrives to tell him that he made a mistake, he then reveals that Takuto is the CEO of Wonder Moon, Techno Lion's parent company, and he is actually working undercover to investigate the corruption within the company.
  • Lady Looks Like a Dude: Rei, Minato's best friend from "I Went to YANDERE SHRINE So I Became Popular with YANDERE GIRLS" is revealed to be a girl dressed as a boy when the latter peeks through her ID card falling from her pocket.
  • Miko: Hana works as a shrine maiden despite being a delinquent.
  • New Transfer Student:
    • Toshiki transfers into a former all-girls school which recently became co-ed.
    • Shinji was transferred to Ayano's school by her father because he was forced to be her bodyguard after saving her from a group of delinquents.
  • Not Blood Siblings: Madoka has a crush on Kazuto, however, much to her dismay, he turns out to be her new step-brother. Despite this, Madoka keeps trying to get his affections. In the end, Kazuto reciprocates her feelings and they become a couple.
  • Mafia Princess: Ayano is the daughter of the leader of the Holy Dragon Group, a Yakuza organization.
  • Mistaken for Cheating:
    • Sana slapped Shota's sister believing her to be his wife cheating on Shota. She apologized to her later when Shota cleared the misunderstanding.
    • Twice, Nana broke up with Ikuto in high school because she thought he was cheating on her. Several years later, she finds him walking together with another girl after they meet and talk again, causing her to hate him again. However, it's later revealed the girl was actually Ikuto's stepsister and she was also the same girl Nana saw in high school.
  • Parental Abandonment: Kota was abandoned by his mother to marry a rich man, making him homeless.
  • Private Tutor: Mahiro gets hired by Kyoka to tutor her because she rejected all the tutors he had in the past and she also has strong interest in studying with him.
  • Punk in the Trunk: Yuhei finds a woman named Satomi sleeping in his car trunk. The reason she went into his trunk was because she was so heavily drunk that she mistook his car for hers.
  • Relative Error: Daisuke thinks his childhood friend Mizuki is going out with someone else, causing him to avoid her for a while until they became the class committee members for the school festival. As it turns out, Mizuki reveals that the man who was with her was her cousin.
  • Rich Bitch: Claire was initially one until her father's company went bankrupt, and her personality has drastically changed after living with Kota.
  • Riches to Rags: Claire was the daughter of the Tamamiya Group. However, the company went bankrupt, causing her to become quiet at school.
  • Scars Are Forever: Ryota has a big scar on his forehead when he tried to save a girl from a car accident.
  • Secretly Wealthy: Kota and Claire helped a homeless man who fell ill to the flu. It was later revealed that he is a businessman and decided to live on the streets to get ideas for business.
  • Sexy Santa Dress: A woman delivers a pizza to a man in a tight Santa dress in cold winter as demanded by her manager. The man decided to get a change of clothes for her since she was shivering in the cold.
  • Spoiled Brat: Kanae is the principal's daughter and always takes advantage of that fact to get what she wants. When she goes on a date with Makoto (who she forced to date him), he decides to prioritize helping an old man instead of the date. Afterwards, Kanae convinces her father to expel Makoto by claiming that she was hurt by what Makoto did. After taking Makoto's place as the Student Council President, she makes the other members do her work for her and threatens to have her father expel them if they refuse or talk back to her. Later on, she tries to convince Makoto to come back to her school and to get back with her due to her and her father facing backlash for their actions, but Makoto refuses, since he has feelings for Chifuyu.
  • Stalker with a Crush: Mr. Yamada has a crush on Yumi and creeps on her but she has a crush on her subordinate Kenta. When Kenta found a listening device in Yumi's room, he destroyed the device, and Mr. Yamada was revealed to be the culprit. He was fired shortly after.
  • Story Arc: The episodes "A Ninja Girl (Kunoichi) Fell In Love With Me. I Ended Up Trying To Save Her Ninja Village", "A Ninja Girl (Kunoichi) Got Married To Me. I'm Trying To Save Our Ninja Village", and "A Ninja Girl (Kunoichi) Got Married To Me. I Went To Devils' Island To Rescue My Daughter" focus on a seemingly Ordinary High-School Student named Takeru Konno who stumbles upon a ninja fight and saves a kunoichi named Miu Tsukino, who constantly asks him to marry her after he fended off Taro Kobukuro, who until then was deemed the strongest ninja, as well as their marriage and life in the village defending it from Taro and his gang. Eventually, they have a daughter named Sakura, whom Taro has kidnapped as a last resort to take over and Takeru has to rescue her.
  • Student Council President: A common story is that the class president is initially cold to the protagonist, but slowly warms up over time as they spend more time together.
  • Tomboy with a Girly Streak: Hana is a delinquent, though she is also into girly things.
  • The Un-Favourite:
    • Hisashi is neglected by both of his parents in favor of his younger brother Akira, they often ask him to the chores in their house. Hisashi's parents and Akira eventually cross the line by leaving him alone in the middle of nowhere. They eventually track Hisashi down to beg him for his help after his father's company gets a bad reputation because of Akira's troubles, predictably, he refuses to help them and he will be the one who is going to abandon them.
    • Kyoka was neglected by her parents because they favored her older brother for getting a perfect score, she later became rebellious by becoming a punk as she entered high school.
    • Makoto is ignored by his uncle and aunt while his cousin Yutaka gets the praise all the time, causing him to be a Spoiled Brat.
  • Universal-Adaptor Cast: Some stories use Shota and Sana, who usually have the same basic appearances but they can be put in different roles and settings. In some stories that involve them, Kanna is also present as a supporting character.
  • Unsettling Gender-Reveal: In the end of "A Ninja Girl (Kunoichi) Got Married To Me. I'm Trying To Save Our Ninja Village," after defeating Taro and Hanako's gang, Miu reveals that the latter of the two is actually a man. It turns out Miu has made background checks on Hanako and peeked at her in the shower.
  • Whole-Plot Reference: The last episode of the Hidden Cloud Village story arc, "A Ninja Girl (Kunoichi) Got Married To Me. I Went To Devils' Island To Rescue My Daughter" has Takeru reenact the journey of Momotarō, right down to the Onigashima and the demons residing there and the concept of befriending a dog, monkey, and pheasant in his journey, with the only differences being that Takeru goes there to save his daughter and instead of the animals, there are three girls named and themed after them who turn out to be Miu's cousins and kunoichi themselves.
  • Yandere: "I Went to YANDERE SHRINE So I Became Popular with YANDERE GIRLS" centers on Minato Sato wishing on the Yabai Shrine, which he was told it specializes in illness and matchmaking. Since he desperately wanted a girlfriend, he gets his wish... in the form of girls becoming yanderes around him. Moreover, his friend Rei eventually turned into this after he found out she was a girl.
