This series provides examples of:

  • Absence Makes the Heart Go Yonder: Suzuka cheated on her boyfriend Yuto Imajo with another man while he was away for six years.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Hina acts like a nice girl in front of everyone she knows, however she shows her true self to Shiro after he finds out that she was cheating on him.
  • Gold Digger:
    • Haruka dumps Naoya after he gets fired from his old company. She coincidentally meets him again after a while when he gets accepted into a new company, leading her to beg him to start over their relationship again.
    • Hina only becomes Shiro's girlfriend because he is the son of a doctor, meaning that he has a lot of money.
    • Karen only dates Yuji for his money and dumps him when he proposed to her, she also takes the engagement ring with her so she can sell it to get money for herself. It's later revealed the ring wasn't expensive, making her complain about it to Yuji.
    • Suzuka cheated on Yuto with another man. She justified it by saying her lover is a young company president. Yuto himself even muses that Suzuka used him as a wallet.
  • The Grovel: Suzuka showed up at Yuto's doorstep one last time and begged him to take her back after her new boyfriend dumped her for another girl. However, Yuto is having none of it and tells her off.
  • Hospital Hottie: The patient next to Yuto Kimijima tells him that the hospital is full of hot nurses and tries to flirt with them with no success. One of them, Sakura Kanishiro, fell in love with Yuto when he saved her from an accident. They started going out after Yuto was discharged.
  • Idol Singer: Homura has a crush on an idol singer named Tsurara, however when he goes to meet her in a handshake event, she recognizes and enthusiastically shakes her hand with him, causing him to be confused and happy at the same time. She turns out to be Hyoka Shiomi, the bland-looking girl who's sitting next to him in his classroom, making Homura realize he was having a crush on his classmate all along.
  • Lady Looks Like a Dude:
    • Tomo Hasegawa's best friend Hiromi Mashiro is actually a girl who dressed like a guy to avoid sexual harassment because of her looks. She also stole his love interest Sayaka Yamakawa in order to date him as "Mihiro". When Sayaka came back and asked Tomo to take her back, Hiromi shows up and reveals him the truth by taking off her cap.
    • Rei dressed up like a boy because she was inspired by a TV show. Junya, her childhood friend didn't realize that she is a girl until college.
  • Malicious Slander: Yuzuki accuses Toru of cheating on her with her sister Kana. In reality, she was the one who was cheating on Toru and she edited the recorded dialogues between them to get consolation money from him. Kana also realizes that Yuzuki was using her as a scapegoat and cuts all of her ties with her and she already tells their parents about her frame-up.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: Tetora comes from a family famous for producing intelligent people. To put it into perspective, Tetora's IQ of 170 is around the low end of the family's average. He pretends to be a dumb student to escape the fame of his heritage.
  • Older Than They Look:
    • Higaki may seem like a small elementary school kid but she is actually an adult. Yuuto kept mistaking her for a little girl much to her dismay. He eventually realized that she was not a child when it is revealed that she is his boss. He still teases her about it from time to time after that.
    • Hina looks like a middle schooler due to her short height, but she is actually 16 years old and a high schooler.
  • One-Steve Limit: An aversion forms the plot of this story. Hakuba Nakata shares a name with his popular friend Sho Hakuba (though one has it as a given name and the other as a surname). When his classmate Alice confesses to having a crush on "Hakuba", Nakata is bummed and believes she's referring to Sho. She's not.
  • Scars Are Forever: Shuichi tries to confess to his childhood friend, Mifuyu, but she keeps rejecting him saying there would be no way he would like her. She has a huge burn scar on her belly and she only wants the best for him by not dating her.
  • She Cleans Up Nicely: Himemiya is by no means ugly but she wears glasses to work. When she asked Yutaro, her boss out she showed up at the restaurant in a beautiful dress and no glasses.
  • Spin-Off: Ayasaki-san is a spin off of this channel, focusing on Miyu Ayasaki, a girl who appears cold and cool but is in fact just shy and cannot confess her feelings to Chiaki Akaba.
  • Stern Teacher: Hyoka was a strict teacher which earned her the name "Ice Queen" but deep down she deeply cares about the students' futures especially Hyoma who she has feeling for.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Childhood Friends or not, one can only mistreat a friend (especially if it's only that friend) so much before they decide to finally cut ties with you. As Sana found out the hard way.
  • Tsundere: Many stories have the girl who is usually the protagonist's childhood friend tease him, only to later turn out that she's secretly in love with him.
