Jaydreamer's OC Snippets (2022-present) is an Animated Anthology that features many stories from the perspective of their various original characters. The Askosverse, Raywood Academy, Crystal Desires, and several other projects have featured as Snippets within this series.
As there are several different projects included in this, all tropes will be separated into separate folders, sorted by series.
They can all be watched here.
Jaydreamer's OC Snippets contain examples of the following tropes:
open/close all folders
Kindness (Crystal Desires)
- Happy Flashback: This is Beryl's flashback to when her and Flora were still "friends".
- Don't Call Me "Sir": Flora doesn't want to be called "Princess".
- Modest Royalty: Flora is shown to be this.
- Sweet Baker: Katie, the royal baker, is this.
- Will They or Won't They?: It's ambiguous at this point as to if Flora and Beryl's relationship was more than them being friends.
- Beryl is Doomed by Canon, though, since Flora eventually marries and has kids with Damien.
Apathy (Crystal Desires)
- Evil Uncle: Downplayed, since Carlos isn't necessarily evil....he's just an asshole.
- Royal Brat: Carlos was raised in luxury, and has the Jerkass qualities to show for it.
- They Call Me MISTER Tibbs!: Carlos insists on being called King Carlos.
Deceit (Crystal Desires)
- Evil Gloating: Flint trespasses in the castle just to gloat to Carlos.
- Foe Romance Subtext: On Flint's end, this is implied....and then Carlos is literally blushing when he and Flint are in close quarters.
- Involuntary Dance: Flint forces Carlos to dance with him via a spell.
- Locked in the Dungeon: Beryl tries to run away, and is punished by Flint locking her inside one of the house's rooms.
- Teleportation: Flint does this to get into the castle.
Loyalty (Crystal Desires)
- Dead Person Conversation: Beryl uses the Return spell in order to talk with Ichor's spirit.
- LGBT Awakening: Beryl realises that the reason why she did what she did is because she loved Flora, not Ichor.
- Beryl: "But…I did it all for YOU! I just wanted to bring YOU back! I just…wanted to bring HER back.
- The Beard: It's implied that Ichor is this - he's aware that Beryl had feelings for Flora and not him.
- This could also explain Beryl's insistence on calling him her fiance/husband.
Basil (Project Metameleia)
- Ambition Is Evil: Blake killed his father so he could become King quicker.
- Call-Back: When Basil is thinking about his first time meeting Trent, he's flashing back to a very similar scene from Pokémon Petunia.
- Opening Narration: Every episode of Metameleia starts with this.
- So What Do We Do Now?: Basil accepts the Call to Adventure because he felt like "without being known as a Defender of Fritho, he was...nothing."
- Voiceover Letter: Trent's voice plays over the letter he sent to Basil.
- Third-Person Flashback: Whilst Basil flashes back to his first meeting with Trent, he imagines how King Blake came to power.
Salem (Project Metameleia)
- Call-Back: In Pokemon Petunia, Salem seems to know Peter's name - and here, it's explained.
- Salem: I knew his name because we used to be friends, in the past. We went to the same primary school, actually, so I guess you could call us childhood friends, in a sense...
- If You Kill Him, You Will Be Just Like Him!: Basil is hesitant to face Blake, being reminded of what his own father did.
- Basil: This is…I’m no better than Wyatt. What we’re about to do…was this…is it going to be justified?
- Men Don't Cry:
- (Basil) didn't care what he personally thought about what happened back then. Peter's feelings were more important. After all, HE was the one who-
- The Quiet One: Salem is this - she's rather soft-spoken.
Blake (Project Metameleia)
- Animation Bump: Whilst Basil runs away from the castle guards, the scene becomes fully animated.
- Content Warnings: The narrator states "This next section may contain some blood and disturbing imagery" before the episode begins.
- Conversation Casualty: Trent does this to Blake whilst they Trash Talk each other.
- Evil Is Not Well-Lit: The entirety of Amurg's capital (Dubno) is perpetually shrouded in a sort of "darkness".
- Foreshadowing: Basil realises that in retrospect, Trent's plan to kill King Blake was obvious from the start.
- The Dictatorship: Blake is running one.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech:
- Trent: Alright, Blake Latimer. Listen up. Y'see, what you're doing over here in the Amurg Region isn't really something I like, especially after what your cousin did to our region. I've come here to make a deal. Fight me, 1v1. No weapons or dirty tricks. We keep going until one of us surrenders.
Larsa (Project Metameleia)
- Doorstop Baby: Basil does this to Larsa by leaving him on the step of the Anachronistic Orphanage.
- Forgiveness: This is the overall theme of Metameleia - Basill needs to learn to be okay with his past actions.

- Vision Quest: Project Metameleia is revealed to be a way for Basil to re-live his own memories and come to terms with what he did in the past.
Sinister Grin (Askosverse)

- Grimayce: Thanks to mine and Nico’s work, a new rumour began to spread throughout the Delwis region.
