INVADER ZIM LOST EPISODE (RARE!!!) is a 2014 Flash-animated cartoon written and animated by Max Gilardi, with a special guest voice by Ukinojoe. It is presented as a lost episode of Invader Zim, titled Zim-Zam the Spaceman and Robot Rudy!: In "Ah, Shit!"
Ah, shit. It's just a regular day for Zim-Zam and his robot sidekick Robot Rudy, as he tries to remember what he was supposed to be doing. Ah, shit. Meanwhile, his arch-nemesis keeps showing up outside the door of his house, and Zim-Zam might have to deal with him. Ah, shit.
Ah, shit. This animation contains examples of:
- Art Shift: Zim-Zam and Dib constantly change designs throughout the video.
- Boom, Headshot!: Dib gets a bloody hole blown in his forehead with a pistol courtesy of Zim-Zam, and then a second, even bigger one. This does not bother him in the slightest.
- Catchphrase: Zim-Zam says "Ah, shit!" numerous times throughout the short, often in rapid succession.
- Captain Obvious: After being shot in the head twice, Dib comments, "Call it a hunch, but I’m starting to get the feeling that you don’t want me here, Mr. Zim!"
- Conspicuous CG: Robot Rudy's character model is 3D, while everything else in the short is 2D.
- Delivery Guy Infiltration: Dib tries (and fails) to get into Zim-Zam's house by dressing in chef's whites and pretending to be a pizza delivery man with a bad Italian accent.Dib: Hey-ho, Zim-Zam! It's-a-me, za pizza man!
- Go-Karting with Bowser: The short ends with Dib, Zim-Zam, and Robot Rudy nonchalantly eating pizza together. And they're naked for some reason.Zim-Zam: I'm glad everything worked out in the end.
- Homage: The title screen is a reference to old-fashioned cartoon shorts like Tom and Jerry, with Zim-Zam and Robot Rudy's heads superimposed over a starburst background.
- Forgetful Jones: Poor Zim-Zam just can't remember what he was supposed to be doing. Maybe he was trying to build a giant laser gun to kill all the humans...or not.
- Naked People Are Funny: Dib’s third attempt at getting Zim-Zam to come out of his house consists of yelling, “Mr. Zim, I took off all my clothes! Come out and see!” Then Zim-Zam takes off his pants for some reason, and the last scene of the cartoon is Dib, Zim-Zam, and Robot Rudy eating pizza while naked.
- No Name Given: Dib never gets referred to by name.Zim-Zam: Ah, shit, it's that guy. I don't remember his name. Probably something with three letters. Everybody that I know has three letters in their name. What's up with that? Ah, shit.
- Shout-Out:
- One of the things Robot Rudy says is "Come on and slam, and welcome to the jam."
- When Zim says "Yeah, brilliant deduction there. Toodle-oo, dum-dum," he briefly looks like the Great Gazoo from The Flintstones.
- Stock Audio Clip: Some of Robot Rudy's ramblings are recycled from Stimpy's dialogue in the The Ren & Stimpy Show episode "Blazing Entrails".
- Talkative Loon: Robot Rudy spouts a whole lot of nonsense. When Zim-Zam asks him how to build a giant laser, he recites the summary of Dog Day Afternoon, a movie about a man who robs a bank to pay for his gay lover’s gender reassignment surgery.
- The Thing That Would Not Leave: Dib keeps showing up outside the house, trying to get a picture of Zim-Zam.
- Would Hurt a Child: Played for Laughs. Robot Rudy randomly claims to have murdered over 500 children.
- Pepperoni ravioli.
