Some time ago, Aloe Mano had managed to single-handedly defeat 3 of the members of Hololive Generation 4. For her accomplishments, she was brought into the ranks of the Seven Divas, some of the strongest members that Hololive has to offer. However, she had mysteriously vanished after a mission with the Chinese branch, along with the entire group itself. After being asked as many inevitable questions as they have about Aloe's disappearance, a group led by Botan Shishiro was dispatched to investigate, and what they found...

...was that the entire city Aloe and the Chinese branch were sent to had been wiped off of the map, with the government none the wiser.

Holo-Chronicles is a fanmade Animesque series of short animations by Kugeki Kitaguchi, which serves to delve deep into the lore of the hololive setting and tie together plot threads that should logically be tied together due to it all occuring in one world. While originally a set of seemingly disconnected fight animations, they were eventually revealed to all take place in the same world and bear the same over-arching plot, not unlike a fanmade take on hololive Alternative.

The story currently consists of two Story Arcs: a prologue arc and the Advent of Omega arc, with more being planned for the future.

The official community Discord server can be found here.

Holo-Chronicles provides examples of:

  • Above the Gods: There are two distinct beings stated to be above the local and deus gods: the Elder Gods and the Primordials. They only really care about preserving balance, which the gods of present day have been at since the creation of logic.
  • Absurd Cutting Power:
    • Ayame's dual blades, Asura and Rasetsu, possess a very high affinity to magic due to being forged in Makai. This allows her to cut down "the very roots of paranormality and the unknown", which combined with her superior strength from her Demon Trait translates to "basically anything". The specific examples given by A-chan's logs are souls, ghosts, magic blasts, and light.
    • Anya also possesses a similar anti-mystery ability, amplified by the fact that she herself is the Absurdly Sharp Blade doing all that.
  • The Ace: While Aloe does brush her beating of Watame off as simply being due to them being a "bad matchup", there's really no point in saying that because her enhanced autosuggestion makes damn near everybody a bad matchup against her, so by all means, she's this trope.
  • Adaptational Badass: While quite a few hololive members are canonically really powerful or really good at fighting, in Holo-Chronicles, every single Holomem is turned into an absolute powerhouse, the most extreme example being turning the generally pretty ordinary Sora Tokino from Gen 0 into a borderline Physical God.
  • Adaptive Ability: IRyS' authority is basically this, as the more dire her situation is, the stronger she becomes. For context, this ability not only makes her Victory Trait significantly more powerful than it would've been normally, but let her fight Omegaα and survive.
  • All There in the Manual: While things are occasionally explained in short terms in the animations themselves, most of the information about the exact abilities of the characters is typically left for Kugeki to clarify in the videos' descriptions and comment sections. This even includes the explanations behind the terms of "talent" (an individual with powers) and "member" (a character that has joined Hololive) in the context of the setting.
  • Always Accurate Attack: If Anya manages to keep her blade stabbed into someone's footprints for long enough (more than 5 seconds) and her target's aura isn't too dense, they get pierced through the heart regardless of their speed or position. Though, as shown against Gura, she is also capable of avoiding dealing damage to any vital organs, if she merely wants to incapacitate the opponent rather than kill them.
  • Amazon Brigade: Considering where this is all drawing from, it should be pretty obvious that the majority of on-screen talents are girls.
  • And Now for Someone Completely Different: The premise of the "Tales of a Fan" series of mini stories, where the protagonist is a newcomer to Holo-City's community.
  • An Ice Person: In a case of Adaptational Badass, Lamy can actually use her family's ice magic in this setting, through the Elemental Trait of Ice and Snow. She was once able to freeze over an entire forest with her powers, and could even seriously mess up Coco, her suffering from frostbite and hypothermia by the end of the fight and requiring Choco's help to heal.
  • Animal Motifs: Pretty common, as it is in hololive proper, with some form of the Predator Trait being the main overarching factor between all talents with one of these. Most notably though, while Subaru is typically associated with ducks, Kugeki is aiming for more of a "black swan" approach.
  • Anti-Hero: If Subaru's police and the majority of Holo-City's talents in general are to be considered more traditional heroes, then Shien's mafia is most certainly this. They act in the shadows, are not afraid to use lethal force even against normal humans if they threaten the city folks' safety, and despite not liking it much, the police has to work with them in order to get things done sometimes.
  • Anti-Magic:
    • Ayame's twin blades and Anya are both capable of cutting through magic.
    • Ina has access to the spell Mrg'luh, "the gaze that sees all", which summons an eye that analyzes and destroys magic. The spell comes in several levels, with level 10 being stated to be capable of outright obliterating any and all magic upon its activation.
  • Anti-Regeneration: Omegaα's tendril attacks are unable to be healed by any supernatural methods that don't involve divinity. Not even the Purity Trait, which normally bypasses the divinity requirement for fighting deus gods and above, is able to heal someone injured by them.
  • Apocalypse Maiden: Ina overlaps this trope with Barrier Maiden. As the Priestess of the Ancient Ones, she can be used as an avatar for them to wreak havoc upon the mortal plane. Thus, she has to stay as unnaturally calm as she is, otherwise she might lose her mind and get taken over. This is lampshaded by her official stats, in which her trait control (the trait in question being the inherently-tied-to-the-Ancient-Ones Eldritch Trait) is sitting comfortably at an almighty zero.
  • The Archmage:
    • Alongside Fubuki, Miko is the strongest user of Mystic Arts (basically the main universe's version of magic) in the setting.
    • The above used to not be the case, but the original strongest mage (the Pioneer Nekomasu Mikoko, who is basically a better Miko due to an evolved trait and being less predisposed to specifically fire magic) is currently MIA due to the empty universe expedition.
  • Arc Welding: What began as videos of VTubers fighting without much plot has become a connected story centered around a number of plot threads, of which Gura developing her powers, Aloe's disappearance, the search for a new Diva and the arrival of Omegaα have the most focus.
  • Art Initiates Life: The core concept behind Iofi's powers. After setting up a "Canvas" (essentially a special radius in which her powers can function), Iofi can create certain elements with paint as a catalyst simply by waving a brush. This includes copies of other people, although she needs to know every little detail about them to recreate them, they lack any abilities outside of their traits, and are generally only half as powerful as the originals.
  • Audience Participation: The channel sometimes uploads polls asking viewers to choose which of the given options they would like to see first. The winner becomes the next video made.
  • Bad Future: Roboco comes from one, or atleast bears records of one. In it, Omegaα managed to defeat everybody, including Sora, and bring the world to ruin before completely destroying it. Holo-City was built early with the express purpose of preventing such a future from occuring.
  • Batter Up!: Subaru is equipped with an indestructible metal bat as her primary weapon. With a combination of it, her Guardian Entity, and her Predator Trait, she can easily take on multiple high-level monsters without breaking a sweat.
  • Beethoven Was an Alien Spy: People throughout history that have "made their mark upon the world" are stated to usually have manifested their traits. The example given is Albert Einstein, who's prodigious levels of genius were attributed to a trait that enhanced his intelligence.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Yoruno Sora is this to the ultimate extreme. Sora is the epitome of a Nice Girl, but if she gets angry enough to unleash Yoruno, everything in her general area is extremely liable to die.
  • BFS: Exaggerated Trope. Moemi's main noted sword is stated to be the size of a skyscraper.
  • Blade Spam: Enma is very well capable of this with her Touketsu technique, in which she slashes at you with a wide swing within a single frame of a second, with each slash taking up another frame. The pain inflicted also builds up with each hit, being equivalent to damned souls the number of which is the number of hits +1.
  • Blessed with Suck: Nice going, Ina! That Eldritch Trait of yours is quite powerful! Just, uh... shame about constantly being at risk of losing your mind or getting hijacked by the Ancient Ones... and it being the only trait in existence that has any type of negative effect aside from exhaustion-by-overuse...
  • Blood Knight:
    • The manner in which Kugeki decided to depict Suisei's psychopathic tendencies. This girl loves to fight strong opponents, being unable to control herself at the thought of testing the EN girls and constantly getting into sparring matches against the other Divas. Sora in particular is somebody Suisei really wants a rematch against, to the point of refusing to make use of her trump card against anybody except her.
    • The entire oni race, if a certain mini story on Discord is to be believed. It's to the point where, if Ayame and her father are to be taken as an example, their usual greeting is to whack each other so hard that they're sent through several walls.
  • Bloody Murder: Gura is capable of using her own blood in place of water to create her trident, and it's actually stronger than her normal one (though probably still weaker than a seawater trident). However, aside from needing to have spilt enough of her own blood, it is also tied to her Superpowered Evil Side, making it horribly inconvenient. With said Superpowered Evil Side in play, even the blood of others can be utilized, and while she can still only make a single trident at a time, the potential size of it is increased drastically.
  • Bullet Catch: Botan managed to pull this off with her teeth when Towa shot her at nearly point-blank range.
  • Cast from Lifespan: Akari Mirai's Brightheart Trait is an enigma-class trait that, depending on whether Akari herself or her dark side Kokoro Yami is in control, either boosts allies' morale while temporarily evolving their traits (with none of the usual pre-evolution negative feedback, at that) or reduces their traits back to their initial primary-class form while giving herself a sizeable physical buff. The cost for this extremely overpowered trait, as it being under this trope suggests, is that longer uses of it eat away at more and more of Akari's own lifespan.
  • City of Adventure: The setting of Holo-City is most certainly this, what with the consistent monster attacks, invasions by various individuals for similarly varying purposes, annual tournaments, and occasional combat between talents out on the streets. Such talents also apparently include every single Virtual Youtuber in existence, whether they'd be an indie or part of a company, thus resulting in the roster of talents being... rather absurd.
  • Clipped-Wing Angel:
    • Technically speaking, Coco's full dragon form is this. While it certainly looks imposing as all hell, the most it ends up doing is increasing the range of her melee attacks and maybe the power of her fire breath. Other than that, it improves absolutely nothing while also making her a bigger target, which certainly doesn't help when she's fighting Roboco as the Bionic Bride of all things.
    • The state of pre-evolution is also effectively this. Subconscious early access to one's evolved trait is genuinely extremely powerful, thus making it somewhat overlap with One-Winged Angel, but what makes it this trope is that, due to a lack of the required training, a pre-evolved talent is not meant to handle such power, causing them to gradually destroy their own mind and body, tossing them into a self-destructive rampage.
  • Colony Drop: During Sora and Suisei's fight to determine whether or not the latter would be promoted into the Seven Divas, Suisei briefly generates a Pillar of Light. While originally being thought by the observing Fubuki to have simply been her powering up, it's later revealed that she was pulling down a goddamn meteorite using her magnetic field to drop onto Sora. It... ended up accomplishing nothing, given how Sora proceeded to simply delete it with her Purity Trait, but you've got to give the Suicopath props for trying.
  • Combat Commentator: Side characters often comment on the fight they're watching, providing explanations of the abilities used and sometimes foreshadowing their own powers or those of bystanders.
  • Combat Tentacles:
    • As expected, Ina's got these due to her connection with the Ancient Ones. You can thank Cthulhu in particular for those.
    • Omegaα also possesses them, utilizing hundreds (if not more) of thin tendrils that can easily cut and pierce through flesh, bone, and armor alike. They can extend an extremely far distance away from Omegaα themselves, and can move fast enough to strike even resident speedster Suisei. And this is their most basic attack. This version is known as the String of the Gods, and the stronger version acquired at 50% divinity, the Hands of Malevolence, can number in the millions.
  • Combination Attack: There's a decent few planned.
    • Blooming Blossom Claws - A combo between Fubuki and Kurokami in which they both rapidly slash at the enemy at blinding speeds. Was currently only used in the Bad Future against Omega, though even with them using divine swords courtesy of Anya, it was sadly only able to stagger the Elder God for a brief moment.
  • Cool Sword: hololive proper has plenty of these amongst the arsenals of the Holomems, but here, special mention goes to:
    • Enma's katana, the Soul Striker. It possesses a similar ability to kill things as Calliope's Sinister Scythe, but with a greater authority that allows it to even kill inanimate objects (and unlike with most reaper weaponry, it doesn't require being within a specific domain to kill things this way). It also has a direct connection to Hell, inflicting anyone cut with it with the pain of the hundreds of thousands, if not millions of souls trapped there all at once.
    • Omegaα's sword, which she doesn't normally bring out, instead focusing on her Combat Tentacles unless she takes the opponent seriously enough. This never happens on-screen, but Word of God mentions that she ended up bringing it out against Jormungandr. It is able to extend itself according to Omega's divinity levels, deals more damage based on the divinity of Omega and whoever she strikes (making it an anti-divine weapon), can hit the intangible and unknown, and can cleave through multiple planets as well as universe-ruining attacks like Shiva's universe-burning flames.
  • Creepy Good: A-chan describes Matsuri as someone who "ticks all the boxes (for being a Diva), but still gives the vibes of someone dangerous".
  • Deadpan Snarker: As opposed to the methodical and (mostly) professional notes from A-chan, Enma's notes on the characters have much more of a "I am so done with everything" feel to them. Though, considering how little she actually sleeps in hololive proper, it actually makes a lot of sense for her to just be that extremely tired.
  • Death or Glory Attack: The 8th technique at Enma's disposal, Mugen Jigoku, is a dashing attack that is usually meant to kill, delivering two hundred slashes in one go. While it is an extremely powerful attack, it severely drains her of her stamina, leaving her wide open if she doesn't end the fight with it, even with the pain of 200 tormented souls coursing through the target's veins after being hit by it.
  • Department of Redundancy Department: The gods of the Divine Realm are known as "deus gods", which doesn't sound too bad... until you realise that "deus" is itself the Latin word for "god".
  • Domain Holder: Dennou Shojo Siro's Principality Trait gives her access to a "Cyber Space" she can call upon, in which she... basically becomes an invincible god. Applications include enhanced Disintegrator Rays, Doppelgänger Attack, Master of Illusion, The Power of Creation, instantly sharing information with her allies, and boosting the effects of any technology in the area, including mechanical talents.
  • Diagonal Cut: Enma's 6th technique, Jounetsu, is an insane version of this. Once she sheathes her sword after dashing through you, not only will you be struck with the expected slashes, but your mind will be assaulted with visions of the torment souls go through in hell. And that pain sticks with you for a good while, so it's not the best to be hit by.
  • Differently Powered Individual: People with powers of any sort are referred to as "talents", though each talent also has a known power system amongst themselves in the form of traits.
  • Discard and Draw: Ina originally possessed a Holy Trait of unknown capabilities. However, in the only example of a talent changing traits in any way besides their evolution or any other sort of natural off-shoot, receiving her book and becoming the Priestess of the Ancient Ones overwrote it with the enigma-class Eldritch Trait, granting her access to her Combat Tentacles courtesy of Cthulhu.
  • Disintegrator Ray: Dennou Shojo Siro's "Cyber Beams" are these, disintegrating anything they hit at an atomic level. She can also coat parts of her own body in these beams to apply those same properties to her physical attacks, and while she can normally only fire them from her hands, she can shoot them from anywhere once she sets up her "Cyber Space".
  • Dragons Are Divine: Well... not all of them, but Selen Tatsuki is very explicitly referred to as a divine moon dragon and actively possesses divinity.
  • Dual Wielding:
    • As in hololive proper, Ayame is still rocking her twin katanas, Asura and Rasetsu, which are utterly insane as specified in Absurdly Sharp Blade above.
    • In her fight against Sora, Suisei summons a second axe to keep up better with Sora's knights.
  • Elite Four:
    • The Seven Divas, the 7 strongest, bravest, and most inspiring members amongst atleast the Japanese branch. The current members include Sora, Suisei, Pekora, Haachama, Fubuki, Matsuri, and the missing-by-backstory Aloe (with candidates for filling in her vacant seat including Coco, Rushia, Korone, Moona, and Aqua). Roboco, AZKi, and Miko are all ex-members, responsible for picking and testing the candidates.
    • Generation 0 is another case, also within Hololive. Not only were all of them Divas at some point (and Sora and Suisei in particular still are), but Fubuki outright states that anyone in the current group not from Gen 0 would stand no chance against a Gen 0 member.
    • Reaching outside of just Hololive are the Thirteen Pioneers, represented by the first 13 really big Virtual YouTubers... which also include Sora. They are all armed to the teeth with absolutely game-breaking traits and enough power to inflict Single Stroke Battles on local gods. However, unlike with the above two groups, most of the Pioneers are currently missing-in-action and barely clinging to life after entering an empty universe to investigate, with the sole exceptions being Sora and one other.
  • Everyone Has a Special Move:
    • Due to the combination of traits and whatever other abilities that someone may have, every single talent's skillset is made almost entirely unique. Traits with specific effects usually give the ones with them entirely unique applications for their abilities, even if those abilities are otherwise very similar to those of another talent.
    • The Mystic Arts are yet another example of this, as they are divided into specific types and a user can generally only make use of one type of Mystic Art. To delve into this and the former point about traits a little more, Fubuki and Anya are both blade-wielding movement-type Mystic Arts users, but Fubuki possesses the Predator Trait, invisible platforms she uses to get the high ground at any given time, and slashes that linger in space, while Anya possesses the Sentience Trait, a Soul Eater-esque ability to partially turn back into her true form as a keris, aerial footholds she uses to increase her speed and momentum, and the ability to perform an Always Accurate Attack if she can keep her blade stabbed into an opponent's footprint.
    • Finally, there are authorities, special powers held only by those of the Divine Realm. Not only are they entirely unique due to being based on what the user is the god of, but they also all tend to be pretty insane either on their own or in combination with their traits, once again.
  • Fantastic Nuke: Apparently, aside from being able to carpetbomb Holo-City 20 times over at her best, some of Kanata's light spells have similar destructive capacity to nukes. A-chan visibly stutters when she realizes Kanata can spam nuke level attacks.
  • Faux Affably Evil: Despite seeming friendly at first glance, the Ancient One that talks through Ina's book is actively attempting to make her lose her calm. This, given her combined Barrier Maiden and Apocalypse Maiden status, very much counts as evil.
  • Flash Step: Both Roboco and Sora have been shown moving at blinding speeds during their respective fights. Word of God confirms this to be a mostly-universal technique just like the Trope Namer, dubbed "Idol Step".
  • Friendly Sniper: Botan is pretty chill and reliable, but she can still snipe you down from up to 8000 meters away.
  • Functional Magic: This story contains several forms of magic, being of various different themes and flavors. For example, the magic used by vessels (talents who gain their powers from connections with the Ancient Ones) falls squarely under "device magic", being directly connected to a specific object, examples being Ina's book and Nyanners' phone. Most other forms of magic act as a layered form of "force magic" with some hinted "rule magic", with the use of mana to manipulate metaphysical forces that are then used to alter the world around the caster. The Mystic Arts (the magic of Earth, as opposed to most other magic being from, say, Fantasia) possibly add a layer of "inherent gift" (as one person can only use one type of Mystic Arts), and authorities and traits most definitely do, but the latter is unique in that it gradually shoots off of its baseline and even evolves to best suit the individual.
  • Gathering Steam:
    • A god can't use their full power in the mortal realm at first. They need to recharge their power and divinity first, which can take hundreds, if not thousands of years depending on the god in question. Omegaα gets around it by killing and absorbing other deities, while IRyS is planning to get around it through having stockpiled power into a special crystal.
  • Genius Bruiser: Despite being an absolute Blood Knight, Suisei can rather quickly discern the situation in a fight, both drawing parallels between Anya and Fubuki and figuring out that Gura can't draw upon her full power for whatever reason. This is supported by her stat card giving her a perfect 10 in battle IQ, with overall intelligence also being a nice 7.
  • Genetic Engineering Is the New Nuke: Approximately what VOMS Project is all about, fusing the traits of human subjects with the power of monsters. True monsters included. No wonder it was deemed unethical prior to the ones behind it successfully using themselves as test subjects to show that it can be done without negative consequences.
  • Glass Cannon:
    • While Kanata's strength is said to rival that of Coco (who is as close as this setting has gotten so far to being The Juggernaut), she's easily knocked out due to her defensive capabilities being somewhat lacking.
    • Pre-evolved talents in general are this trope, as while they can put out a lot of damage, they are also destroying their own bodies as they go on.
  • God-Eating:
    • Pretty much the Ancient Ones' whole shtick, though not because they need to in order to grow more powerful or survive. They just see the other gods as that far beneath them.
    • Omegaα also partakes in the consumption of fellow deities, though for an actual reason. That is, to accelerate the process of regaining their divinity and power while destroying worlds they deem unnecessary.
  • The Gods Must Be Lazy: Atleast as far as mortals are concerned. The ones within the Divine Realm simply monitor mortal beings and control their lives and world, all without ever interfering directly. IRyS... isn't a fan of this.
Why do we control their fates, their world and lives? Didn't we create them so we could live alongside them? To relate to them? This is all wrong...
  • Gold-Colored Superiority: Although divinity is generally invisible to mortals, those with Aura Vision perceive it as a golden aura around the divine being in question.
  • Gravity Master: Moona and Selen, both divine beings connected to the moon, have some degree of gravity manipulation in their skillset.
  • Grim Reaper: Obviously, Calli is still one of these, but in this setting, this comes with the gifted-class Death Trait, which allows the bearer to interact with people's souls.
  • Guardian Entity:
    • Sora is able to summon up to 13 knight spirits (the exact number varies based on the opponent's power), each wielding different weapons and individually capable of levelling small countries. They are actually a pretty extreme example of this trope, as Sora has all of zero control of them, with them automatically being called forth upon her being attacked and then acting 100% autonomously to protect her and her alone.
    • Subaru can call upon a macho humanoid bird to fight alongside her, which can punch hard enough to destroy a building, tank hits from heavy-hitters like Ayame and Suisei, and immobilize enemies by staring at them.
  • Healing Factor: The only reason why Iofi doesn't have to worry about hurting Ina in a tournament that is supposed to be non-lethal: everyone knows Ina can regenerate.
  • The Heartless: Amongst the many different kinds of monsters out there, the strongest by far are the "pure monsters" (also often called true monsters). They are born of the sheer resentment and hatred of the demihumans enslaved by humans in the past, and each are strong enough to give a Diva a run for her money.
  • Hellish Pupils: A seemingly common trend when someone with the Predator Trait activates it is their pupils becoming catlike slits.
  • I Know What You Fear: The weakest spell in Nyanners' arsenal is one known as "Clinging Void", which lets her simultaneously make someone experience their greatest fear and amplify the resulting sensation of fear. At level 10, it is able to affect the entire population of the world, resulting in mass hysteria.
  • Implacable Man: Once Gura's "reflection" is let out (read: she goes berserk), damn near nothing is stopping her. She was able to power through Anya's Santet curse skewering her from the inside out - a rather impressive feat despite Anya explicitly aiming away from any vital organs - and whatever it was Suisei had to do to put her out of commission, it left her in a full-body cast.
  • In It for Life: Once you enter Holo-City, you're not leaving its community unless you're willing to subject yourself to Laser-Guided Amnesia to forget about it and wherever you entered it. If you choose to remember, you have to legally become a citizen, which is very much this trope. You're also not allowed to tell anyone from the outside, including your own family, about it, under threat of being hunted down and killed by the mafia.
  • Instant Expert: Hal Shibuya's Vanguard Trait, alongside its rather high Status Buffs, also gives him complete mastery of any weapon he is holding. Any weapon. That's right, he knows how to perfectly attack someone with basically anything, including a goddamn chair.
  • Irony: Everybody in the fandom knows how dumb Miko can be, so who could've guessed that she's the ex-Diva tasked with testing the knowledge of potential Diva candidates?
  • Kicking Ass in All Her Finery:
    • Roboco invokes this trope hard in her Bionic Bride form, which equips her with a beautiful blue-flower-laden black-and-red wedding dress. Considering how absurdly powerful it also makes her, it's safe to say that she actually kicks the most ass in her finery.
    • Even greater than that is Sentouyou Ai, the evolved form of Dennou Shojo Siro, as her dress is actually formed from her Cyber Beams and thus immediately disintegrates anything that comes in contact with it. Once again, this is a case of the finery in question actively making the user stronger, which is absurd to think about when Siro is already a Pioneer.
  • Killing Intent: Not only can people feel sufficient levels of bloodlust in other people in this manner, but it is also an active function of the Predator Trait. Specifically, it is able to amplify said killing intent into a pulse of sorts that instills fear into nearby living creatures, with sufficiently powerful users like Fubuki being able to make their killing intent lethal to whoever they direct it towards, also causing it to still be felt miles away.
  • Light 'em Up: Through the power of her Heaven Trait, Kanata is capable of releasing beams of light that surpass Towa's attacks in terms of destructive power. Not only that, but she is actually capable of controlling and holding light and anything made from it as if it was a physical object. Examples given include manufactured light from lightbulbs, Roboco's laser turrets, fire (to an extent), and most commonly, sunlight. That last one makes her incredibly powerful on a sunny day, and would let her easily carpet bomb entire cities if she wanted to, so thank god she doesn't.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Pretty much anyone with the Predator Trait (that is to say, all animal-based talents) is this, as it mostly functions to enhance the bearer's physical abilities. Case and point, Gura nearly one-shotting Ina if not for Calli stopping the fight, which was done during her first usage of her trait. Coco's evolved variant, the Mythical Predator Trait: Draco, is even stronger, allowing her to kick Roboco's ass enough to force her into unleashing the Bionic Bride, and in fact allowing her to level entire continents. Subaru is also nearing the evolution of hers.
  • Living Shadow: True monsters resemble black three-dimensional shadows of various shapes and sizes, though even the weaker ones that manifest within Holo-City are able to be as large as a house.
  • Living Weapon: As in hololive proper, Anya is a living keris. We see her manifesting her blade as a Blade Below the Shoulder against Gura, making her not unlike a demon weapon from Soul Eater.
  • Logical Weakness:
    • Sora's Purity Trait allows her to nullify any attack... that is backed by negative intent. Attacks backed by positive intent or no real intent at all (atleast so long as they're not based in negative energy) can bypass this otherwise invincible defense, which is how Roboco managed to fight her for 4 hours straight (though, granted, she was also in her Bionic Bride Super Mode, so that probably helped her too).
    • Ina's book is capable of No-Selling Sora's Purity Trait. Ina herself is not, and due to her body being so wholly permeated with the Ancient Ones' negative energy, usage of the Purity Trait causes her to freeze up and shut down due to it being briefly purged from her body. This weakness is so bad that it was displayed by Iofi's Sora clone, which is only half as strong as the original.
  • Lovely Angels: Individually, Okayu and especially Korone are pretty strong. Together, they're theorized by A-chan to equal a member of the Seven Divas. It helps that Korone is actually a Diva candidate, with Okayu being the only one capable of motivating her into action.
  • Made of Iron:
    • Actually harming Coco to any relevant extent is... difficult, to say the least. Her sheer durability is what allowed her to dominate most of her fight against Roboco, with her tough scales letting her take one of Roboco's blaster shots straight to the hand without even flinching and then fly right through the energy wave emitted by her transformed Arm Cannons as if it wasn't even there. It was only when Roboco brought out the Bionic Bride that she could actually make Coco bleed, which just serves to show what level of power is needed to hurt her.
    • The durability buff granted by Aoi Fuji's "Echoes of the Blue Mountain" ability lets the one sffected by it actually be even tougher than Coco, with it being said that someone with this buff can tank a world-ending attack with no issue.
  • Magical Eye:
    • Marine and her mother both possess the "Eyes of Rebellion", which hold the power to double the damage dealt to anything within their field of vision. After some magical experiments performed on Marine, her eye was altered to the Indecent Eyes of Rebellion, which on top of the original damage buff, also drastically increase the physical sensitivity of anyone she looks at. Sadly, this includes herself, and the method of dealing with it is... rather lewd, if A-chan is to be believed.
    • Mea Kagura possesses an ability called the "Eyes of Judgement", which let her perfectly analyze a situation and find weak spots within enemies.
    • Kamito Sakamoto's "Sight of Privilege" ability lets him perceive various things, like an attack's range and such, in the form of shapes and numbers, along with knowing when the attack is coming based on when the shapes fill up. He actively compares it to range indicators in an MMORPG.
  • Magikarp Power: Gura is the absolute weakest amongst HoloMyth... when not exposed to seawater or under rainfall, in which case, she's basically a natural disaster capable of destroying a whole town without much issue.
  • Making a Splash: Gura has the ability to manipulate water in her surroundings, even creating her trident using this ability. Jenma states that her hydrokinesis abilities are at their strongest either at the sea or during rainfall, allowing her to freely control the flow and density of the water and even further enhancing the power of her trident if it's drenched in or incorporates seawater.
  • Mega City: Holo-City is absolutely huge. Despite being legally known as a city, its size is actually that of a country, with more than 50 districts acting as prefectures. With how basically every talent in the world (read: pretty much any VTuber you can think of) lives there, the size makes a lot of sense.
  • Morph Weapon:
    • Bibi, Towa's demon familiar, can transform into basically any weapon. This includes firearms, something that Botan isn't really that fond of during the Gen 4 VS Gen 5 team battle.
    • Marine's weapon is a dwarven artifact capable of transforming at the user's will between multiple different weapon forms. Switching forms is extremely mana-efficient, and seems to not take any noticeanle amount of time, making it an extremely tricky weapon.
  • Mr. Exposition: Most of the All There in the Manual entries are from A-chan, M-chan, Enma, and Jenma's logs, as well as IRyS' diary. A-chan provides information on Japanese members and the world at large, while Enma and Jenma focus on the members of Myth they each act as managers for, M-chan talks more about the talents of the ID branch, and IRyS focuses on matters of the Divine Realm.
  • Mundane Utility: Nyanners' phone is her conduit for eldritch spellcasting, which very likely includes the strongest spells in the entire story. It's also an iPhone with infinite battery and constant access to wi-fi.
  • Necromancer: Uruha Rushia naturally has the ability to summon undead creatures for her disposal with the use of etherial energy.
  • No-Nonsense Nemesis: The Bad Future reveals Omegaα to be this. While they don't exactly go even remotely all-out against any of the talents it faces, the moment it realizes Suisei's speed is letting her prevent casualties, they immediately focus all of their attention on killing her in particular.
  • No-Sell:
    • Ina's book may as well be completely indestructible and inseparable from Ina, because it inflicted this trope upon everything that the members tried to do with it. Up to and including throwing it into the Big Bang, which caused Amelia to get her mind shattered to the point where it took weeks for her to recover, and Sora using the Purity Trait on it, which the Ancient One in it responded to with the taunt shown in the With Great Power Comes Great Insanity example below.
    • One application of Baelz's Calamity Trait is to effectively bypass any power used against her.
    • Sora not only did this to the pressure of Mumei and IRyS' presence as gods, but also turned it back onto the latter with her Purity Trait seemingly acting passively.
  • No Sense of Direction: Exaggerated. Gura somehow manages to get lost on the way to Miko's shrine despite HoloMyth simply using a portal to travel there.
  • Not Quite Flight: Anya, Fubuki, and Ayame all specialize in movement-type Mystic Arts, creating invisible footholds to get to certain heights. While Fubuki uses them to give herself more room for attacks and Ayame's usage is currently unknown, Anya uses them to boost her momentum and thus augment her attack potency, something she centers her entire fighting style around.
  • Not the Intended Use:
    • The platforms generated through movement-type Mystic Arts are generally meant to be used as footholds for... well, movement. Fubuki does use hers that way, but she also channels those platforms into a sharper form to create slashes that linger in the air.
    • Also using movement-type Mystic Arts in an offensive manner is Kaga Sumire, who uses the platforms generated to ricochet her bullets off of what is effectively thin air, resulting in her combat style being surprisingly advanced in nature.
  • One-Hit Kill: Both Enma and J-chad's weapons can do this, at least if used within the underworld. Enma's sword has an authority powerful enough to kill basically anything, even inanimate objects, while J-chad's brass knuckles are significantly more limited, with her one-shot kills being limited to anyone that doesn't originate from the underworld and being pretty much useless against any natives of it.
  • Our Angels Are Different: Angels in this universe possess the Heaven Trait as their primary-class. They also have the power to control astral energy, one of the so-called "metaphysical forces".
  • Our Demons Are Different: Similarly to angels above, demons also have their own primary-class trait, appropriately dubbed the Demon Trait. They also have the ability to use a specific metaphysical force, theirs being etherial energy.
  • Our Gods Are Different: In this setting, a god that represents a concept is defined by it, their emotions being shaped by what they represent. Some are good, some are evil, but all are shaped by the concepts they embody. They tend to only care about their prupose and only want to fulfill said purpose, to do the tasks assigned to them, which makes them not exactly free... atleast in IRyS' opinion. She actually sees this definition-by-representation as a curse of sorts, binding their emotions and not letting them develop beyond what they're meant for. They are also severely reduced upon entering the Mortal Realm, having to regain their power and divinity across hundreds, if not thousands of years, depending on the god in question, though there are ways to accelerate the process. Finally, they have a specific primary-class trait attached to them, that being the Deus Trait, though it is only available to deus gods and above.
  • Outside-Context Problem: Enigma-class traits are this as a whole, as they are defined by actively breaking the rules of the system. Things such as Ina's abilities being entirely overwritten or whatever caused Haato to effectively possess two souls simply aren't supposed to happen, consistently befuddling any researchers delving into the topic.
  • Personality Powers: The trait system generally functions like this, with them taking into account what is considered one's "most powerful individuality" (along with one's emotions, race, and natural abilities) and refining it into a usable power or set of powers. The Holy Trait showcases this feature of the system the most, having the highest number of potential offshoots out of any other, aside from the possible exception of the Deus Trait.
  • Photographic Memory: Iofi's Depiction Trait gives her this, letting her perfectly recall anything she ever learns down to very precise details. This helps her Art Initiates Life people copying powers quite a lot, seeing as she needs to know such details to be able to recreate them.
  • Playing with Fire: Miko is known for her ability to conjure a "sea of flames", and given how she's the strongest known user of Mystic Arts, it must be pretty massive and pretty damn hot. In the Bad Future, she also shows the ability to light herself ablaze, before unleashing explosions that not only don't harm her or her allies, but are also each so bright and massive it looks as if the sun itself suddenly showed up. These are actually the result of powerful Summon Magic.
  • Pocket Dimension: This series makes liberal use of these. While the typical smaller-scale take on these is used to explain Miko's shrine, the entire setting of Holo-City is in one of these, hence requiring a portal to get in and out.
  • Power at a Price: Cursed weapons can be extremely powerful... but they eat up massive amounts of mana as compensation. As such, anyone without an infinite mana supply (including ones with absurd-yet-still-finite supplies like Rushia) will inevitably be killed by using one.
  • Power Copying: A-chan has the innate ability to copy anyone else's abilities (including trait abilities, considering that Botan's pseudo-future sight acquired via her Predator Trait is one of her favorites) and store them for later use, all after seeing them in action just once.
  • Power Levels: This series has an... interesting way of measuring the characters' relative power levels. One of Sora Tokino's abilities is to summon up to 13 powerful spirits in the form of armored knights. The number of knights summoned depends on the power of the opponent, which means that power levels can be measured by simply pitting a talent up against Sora and seeing how many of her knights manifest in response. So far, we know that Fubuki brought out 5, Roboco and Suisei have both brought out 6, and AZKi had managed to bring out 8. Word of God states that "Every diva/gen 0 has only fought Sora once. If they have a rematch they'd have more knights spawning in.", raising the ceiling to a minimum of 9. Additionally, a Freeze-Frame Bonus in "Flashback" shows Sora along with 7 figures, implying that those were the ones brought to quell a rampaging Gura.
  • Power Parasite: Marine's Plunderer Trait, in simple terms, allows her to "steal things". While it can be used to steal physical objects up to the size of a whole naval ship (so long as a living being isn't holding it, of course), what puts it in as this trope is that she can "steal" an enemy's stats with each hit, causing them to gradually become weaker as she keeps growing stronger.
  • Razor Wind: Enma's 3rd technique, Shugou Jigoku, is what appears to be a pommel strike followed up by this trope. Or perhaps it's just it. Either way, it also crushes the target's will to live if they get hit by it, which is rather nasty.
  • Reality Warper: The Calamity Trait: Chaotic Order effectively turns Baelz into this. She can mess with the order of reality itself, thus being able to screw around with basically anything she wants. Even something as great as the divinity of another god is not off-limits for her.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning:
    • Gura gains red accents, including red eyes, in her evolved state. Due to currently being a case of pre-evolution, she becomes extremely dangerous to be around, let alone to face, if you're not a Diva or someone on their level or above.
    • True monsters possess glowing red eyes aside from already being Living Shadows, and are The Heartless born of pure hatred that, similarly to pre-evolved individuals, can only be handled by someone on at least the level of a Diva.
  • Religious and Mythological Theme Naming: Enma's various sword techniques are named after the 16 levels of Jigoku, AKA buddhist/Japanese hell.
  • Resurrective Immortality: J-chad's ability has been described by Kugeki himself as "stacking lives". She can have up to 8 extra lives at any given point, represented by ethereal skulls floating behind her (which she can actually hide, and often does to keep her opponent from knowing how many she has left). Regaining lives for her is as easy as hitting somebody with enough force to kill a normal human... because her normal punches are enough to cause craters in the ground beneath her.
Enma: I just need to kill you more than once, right?
  • Running Gag: Calli doesn't seem to like necromancy at all. In her fight against Kiara, she makes a point of how she's as pissed off as she is due to "that necromancer" (most likely referring to Rushia), and when she realizes that an undead is amongst the Indonesian branch, she immediately goes to take care of business, only being stopped by Moona.
  • Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!: The higher powers typically don't interfere with mortal affairs. However, IRyS, foreseeing The End of the World as We Know It at the hands of Omegaα, decides to intervene and try to stop it... even if it means breaking the rules of the Divine Realm and making other gods do the same.
  • Semantic Superpower: First indie Nora Cat's Prevaricator Trait functions like this, allowing her to turn "truths" into "lies" and vice-versa. This lets her completely negate attacks, rewrite enemy abilities in whatever way she pleases, one-shot true monsters by turning their negative energy into positive energy, and give herself all sorts of superhuman abilities by simply convincing herself that she has them. This becomes especially overpowered with her "Schrodinger's Law" ability, which lets her conceptually turn her imagination, truth, and lies all into reality, even giving herself divinity on par with a chief local god which then allows her to affect deus gods and above with her powers.
  • Semi-Divine: In a certain sense, Moona is this. While she herself is 100% human, she once came across an injured goddess of the moon, offering her body and soul to save her and thus merging with her. This gave her both the Star Trait and authority over the moon.
  • Shapeshifting Heals Wounds: Roboco quickly got her arm torn off by Coco, and was then further demolished by one of her fire blasts to the point of barely leaving any of her torso: only half of her head, her legs, and a single arm had been left, just barely kept together by what was left of her chest and waist. However, once she activated her Bionic Bride form, she came out of the resulting Pillar of Light no worse for wear and ready to return the curbstomp.
  • Shock and Awe:
    • While not a dedicated lightning user, Iofi's "In My Image: Shocking Yellow" attack drops a lightning bolt attack right onto the enemy's head.
    • For an actual dedicated electromancer, we have Pikamee Amano, who can control both electricity itself and its level of heat. In fact, it is stated that she can use this power to melt through almost anything, which is not surprising, coming from the strongest member of VOMS.
    • Another dedicated lightning user is Ars Almal from Nijisanji. While her lightning magic isn't as potent as Pikamee's electricity (even with the Elemental Trait enhancing it), her versatility more than makes up for it, letting her shock enemies from the inside or amplify her robe with her magic to become Fast as Lightning.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Aside from Kugeki's own referential remarks and some comparable abilities, there is Coco and Aqua being referred to as "the Dragon" and "the Mad Dog", taking after the Like a Dragon series' very own Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima. This is especially poignant due to the real Coco's deep appreciation for the Like a Dragon franchise, and Kazuma Kiryu in particular.
    • On the note of referential remarks from Kugeki, he states in the description for Ina's Rampage that it is "not a continuation of that godly Ina VS HoloMyth on Twitter", clearly referencing the very much incredible Myth's Bad Ending.
    • Aqua's special group dealing in the handling of rogue talents is called the Apex Division.
  • Shown Their Work: Kugeki puts a lot of thought into the abilities of the talents, actively researching their inspirations and sifting through as many of their streams as possible so as to give them fitting powers.
  • Spell Blade: Fubuki generally fights by combining her affinity for Mystic Arts and swordsmanship to create special slashes. These slashes remain stagnant in space and cut whoever comes into contact with the slashed area.
  • Splash of Color: Certain details like Iofi's paint are drawn in vivid colors, which helps contrast them with the monochrome art style. Very particularly, the use of colored details on characters tends to be a signifier of heightened power, as shown with Gura's pre-evolution and especially, as shown in a teaser image, Yoruno (whose clothes, eyes, and hair are all distinctly colored).
  • Spontaneous Weapon Creation:
    • A-chan specializes in weapon-type Mystic Arts, allowing her to create spirit weapons of varying shapes and sizes.
    • Moemi Yomeno is able to recreate basically any weapon from Fantasia by means of the infinite supply of artificial mana generated by her magic core. Examples given are a spear that extends with energy input and can reach up to and cut through the moon, and a divine sword that is quite literally the size of Tokyo Tower, originally used by a past hero and the demon king respectively. All together, she has about 30 different weapons that gift her with different capabilities, Status Buffs, and immunities when used, some of which are explicitly divine.
  • Squishy Wizard: Sora's stat card reveals that, for all her reputation as the World's Strongest Woman, she is actually closest to this. Her strength and durability are actually on the lower end, and while her speed is quite good, it doesn't make her any less frail in comparison to some others. However, not only does anybody facing her still need to get past her knights and the Purity Trait, but there is still Yoruno Sora, which was seemingly not considered for the stat card.
  • Status Buff:
    • A-chan's Luminary Trait lets her boost pretty much all of the physical stats of anyone she considers an ally within the span of Holo-City (read: it has a range about the size of Japan), along with granting them flight and an expanded mana pool. This is also available to use on herself.
    • The "Martial Pedigree" family of spells also mainly serves to increase the user's physical abilities, which makes it rather popular amongst physically-focused adventurers and soldiers in Fantasia. In particular, the paladins of the Silver Kingdom (which Noel is a part of) are known to be masters of it.
  • Succubi and Incubi: Succubi are very much a thing in this setting, as shown with Aloe, Choco, and Nijisanji's Ririmu. The unique thing is that they are able to progress in two different ways based on... well, whether they keep their virginity or not.
    • If they partake in Sex Magic shenanigans, their mana pool expands, possibly to the point of letting them shape it at least three or four times (far more than most individuals, even those from outside of Earth with larger pools of mana tend to cap out at two). However, while they are able to become as or even more powerful than some of the higher-ranking demons within the Demon Realm by continuing their sexual escapades, losing their virginity causes their mana to start leaking, meaning that if they don't keep it up, they will most likely die.
    • On the other hand, succubi who go the route of Virgin Power don't have to worry about this mana leak. At the same time, in place of their magical potential, the potency of their autosuggestion grows over time instead. Aloe is considered rather advanced in that regard, due to her autosuggestion being able to affect inanimate objects and even somebody's emotions, at least when her Demon Trait is active. These tend to be looked down upon in succubus society despite their greater focus on combat, as sexual intercourse is, as you may expect, kind of a big deal in a society of sex demons.
  • Summon Magic:
    • Rushia can summon armies of undead, as well as individual undead more powerful than one of Sora's Knights.
    • Both Miko and Nekomasu's Mystic Arts revolve around the summoning of special monsters from Makai, each of which has their own abilities, a small amount of divinity, and can also be summoned in the form of a weapon for them to use personally. Nekomasu's version is stronger, not just because she's got an evolved Predator Trait specifically specced towards amplifying her magic abilities, but also because Miko's specialty is fire while Nekomasu's is magic in general.
  • Super-Empowering: A rather unique Meta Power variation. Aoi Fuji's Peerlessness Trait lets her, so long as she remains in contact with someone, temporarily remove any drawbacks from their abilities, making them flawless. This even works with her own on-command-Mighty Glacier ability, letting it affect more than one person at once.
  • Super-Intelligence: The Sentience Trait held by Roboco, Anya, and Towa's familiar Bibi takes the form of the "exceptional perception" variant. For context of the level being talked about here, Bibi's version lets it process information and calculate optimal responses in seconds or less, and its version is considered rudimentary compared to that of the other two known users.
  • Super Mode:
    • Multiple members already have forms that invoke either this trope or One-Winged Angel in hololive proper, but a noteworthy original addition is Roboco's "Bionic Bride" state. In this form, she is capable of fighting Sora to a standstill, and easily wipe out Coco after she had been variably trashing Roboco herself prior to the transformation, forcing her to go into her dragon form to try and even the playing field.
    • The Predator Trait also seems to act this way, atleast when used by Gura, enhancing her strength and speed enough to destroy Ina's tentacles and the many pillars around them with a single trident toss. In fact, Gura was encountered in a more monstrous state in which she wrecked her way through a coastal city and killed hundreds of people, which was theorized to be the result of subconsciously accessing an evolved Predator Trait. This is later confirmed in Flashback.
    • It was stated by Kugeki that Sora Yoruno acts as this to the already extremely overpowered Sora Tokino - as if she needed to be any more broken - and though it hasn't been put on full display yet, it apparently makes her strong enough that an awakened Ina (which would likely be enough to take down Sora's base form by herself) would be defeated even by the mere flicker of Yoruno's power that was shown against Mumei and IRyS. Later information shows that Yoruno is specifically a Superpowered Evil Side awakened by overwhelming negative emotions, and is so broken that she was able to heavily injure Kizuna Ai (the strongest of the Pioneers, mind you), potentially having killed her if not for having a time limit on how long she can be active.
    • While unclear if this ties into the above, active usage of one's evolved trait always results in some sort of physical change or transformation. As one may expect, this makes them extremely powerful, sometimes even bordering on overpowered.
  • Superpowered Evil Side:
    • Gura sometimes loses control due to a case of pre-evolution (a state in which a talent accesses an evolved trait before the necessary training). The changes to her appearance are minimal, merely involving her eyes and highlights turning red. During this state's original activation, she would rampage through a coastal city, killing hundreds of people before being stopped by Sora, and during its second activation in the fight against Anya, Amelia immediately states that Gen 0 might have to break up the fight again. In this state, she boasts the ability to use blood in place of water in her trident, whether it'd be her own blood or, as stated about her original engagement, that of those around her. The aformentioned initial case was so bad, in fact, that the higher-ups had to issue a damage control policy in case another talent flew off the handle due to pre-evolution or another such scenario.
    • Ina's status as the Priestess of the Ancient Ones allows the Eldritch Abomination speaking through her book to possess her if she shows any signs of mental weakness. Eventually, it would be able to access its full power even while acting through her... which is not preferable, given the fact that the Ancient Gods literally eat lesser deities for breakfast due to just how far above them they are.
    • Haachama is much more powerful than Haato, being able to fight two Divas simultaneously for 9 minutes straight and jumping Haato's power level from 4 knights to 7 upon first manifestation. She's also freaking Haachama and something of an uncontrollable Blood Knight.
    • Yoruno Sora is a... something that exists within Sora, and only manifests when Sora's negative emotions become strong enough to override the Purity Trait's negation of them. She doesn't manifest often due to how much of a Nice Girl Sora is, but once she does, get the fuck out of the dimension she's in if you value your life.
  • Super-Senses: A relatively common application of certain traits.
    • Botan is the highest level bearer of this trope in the series so far, as using her Predator Trait enhances her sensory capabilities to the point of seemingly giving her a few seconds of precognition.
    • Towa commonly uses her Demon Trait to enhance her senses alongside mobility.
    • Subaru uses her Predator Trait to enhance her senses along with her strength, which helps in fighting alongside her Guardian Entity.
  • Super-Speed: Suisei is stated by the creator to be the fastest person on the planet, which is certainly not hurt by her Star Trait allowing her to No-Sell the laws of aerodynamics at will. Her stat card supports this, with her speed being a perfect 10.
  • Sword and Gun: Aqua's fighting style, with which she is so extremely proficient she was labeled as the deadliest of the Diva candidates by Matsuri.
  • Sword Beam: Kugeki loves this trope, and for good reason.
    • Enma has two different techniques relying on these revealed so far: Kyoukan Jigoku, which is an iaido example that also shatters the target's soul for a split second, leaving their power and bodily functions disabled for that brief time if they survive, and Kokujou, which is a circular series of sword beams that devastates the area and chains the souls of those struck to her sword, slowing them down so long as it is nearby.
    • Suisei's BlueRose attack is an example done with an axe in place of a sword.
  • Takes One to Kill One: Deus gods and above are basically immune to any attacks or effects not backed by divinity, meaning either coming from another god, the vessel of a god, or a divine weapon. This also lets them bypass any non-divine defensive abilities. The only thing capable of bypassing this caveat is the Purity Trait.
  • Teleport Spam: Baelz does this for no reason whatsoever, as if glitching through reality itself. Perfect for a Primordial that embodies the concept of chaos.
  • The Power of Hate: Take a large chunk of the demihuman population, add a hefty dose of oppression and slavery, and you get a whole lot of resentment and hatred. This hatred then congealed into the true monsters, which quickly became the biggest threat native to Earth.
  • The Trope without a Title: Often times, any area destroyed by Omegaα isn't referred to by a proper name. The "erased city" that took Aloe and the Chinese branch with it and the various "empty universes" left behind by their crusade are the main examples.
  • Time Master: Amelia Watson doesn't normally possess a trait. All her power comes from her pocket watch, which allows her to mess with the flow of time at will. Confirmed powers include Time Travel to the past or future, stopping time for a split second, and both enhance her physical abilities and gain temporary traits by borrowing time from her future selves up to 20 years ahead, though the trait received is completely random. The amount of time that this boost lasts depends on how far into the future she pulls her time from, ranging from 5 minutes for 1 year up to 10 seconds for 20 years. This trope is pushed further with her 20 year boost, as she gains access to an untrained Chronos Trait, which allows her to freely control the time of her opponent and surroundings, age her opponent to death, literally punch away at your lifespan, or even drag you straight to the Big Bang or the heat death of the universe.
  • Took a Level in Badass:
    • The trait system has this trope built into them, as it is actually possible for traits to evolve and become stronger. Sora, Suisei, and Coco along with two yet unnamed others, are the only mortals so far that possess evolved traits, although Subaru is getting pretty close to evolving hers. It's also possible to access an evolved trait earlier than intended subconsciously, but it's... not a good idea. Also, traits of the "enigma" classification are unable to evolve.
    • Moona did this in her backstory as well, going from a regular college student to someone with the powers of a moon goddess within her after merging with said moon goddess to save her life.
  • Wilfully Weak: Watson doesn't go further than a 10 year boost anymore. When asked by Jenma why she doesn't go anywhere between 15 and 20, she only had this to say.
Watson: "There's something waiting for me to use it. No way I'm running into it again."
  • With Great Power Comes Great Insanity: Ina, Ina, Ina. Her original "Holy Trait" was overwritten with her new Eldritch Trait when she became the Priestess of the Ancient Ones, which certainly doesn't help how she needs to stay perpetually calm in order to not lose her sanity. Not only that, but the spells in her book all feed off of her sanity to be cast. And the worst part of it? There is basically no way to keep Ina safe other than for her to keep calm. Enma, with all her powers as a ruler of Hell, was unable to destroy it, and Sora's extremely OP Purity Trait was unable to purify it. Hell, when she tried, the Ancient Ones taunted her for her attempts to do so.
Puny human girl... You have the power of a god, yet that power won't protect anyone...
  • Wizard Duel: Pretty much what Ninomae Ina'nis Vs Airani Iofifteen amounts to in practice, contrasting Ina's lovecraftian magic with Iofi's paint-based abilities.
  • Words Can Break My Bones: Aloe's ability is a superior version of the autosuggestion ability succubi such as herself typically use to seduce their prey. By saying certain things, she can affect the will of other people and even the world around her. Using her one-shotting of Kanata as an example, by saying "blow away" towards her, she made it so that Kanata was immediately smacked into a faraway mountain without anyone actually touching her. And the best/worst part is, unlike one Toge Inumaki, who has a similar ability, hers has no drawbacks due to her Demon Trait enhancing it, which also lets her affect the emotions and mental strength of her targets. Not even covering your ears will help: the only way to take care of it is to get rid of her voice. If not, she could easily just tell you to die and leave it at that.
  • Worf Had the Flu: After several episodes of Ina being one of the most fearsome combatants in the whole series, Iofi manages an easy win against her. However, according to Kugeki, "If Ina knew how Iofi’s abilities worked from the start, this fight would have been very one sided.", all but stating it would have been a Curb-Stomp Battle in the other direction.
  • World's Strongest Woman:
    • Without a shadow of a doubt, Sora Tokino is the absolute strongest known mortal talent in the setting so far, with Kugeki even rightfully referring to her as the Holo-Chronicles equivalent of Satoru Gojo. With a combination of her 13 knight spirits (which are each individually capable of destroying small countries) fighting on her behalf and her Purity Trait: The Cleansing Sky allowing her to purify all negativity in the area (which includes deleting any attacks that bear negative intent towards her or her allies), she possesses both the strongest offense and defense of anybody else in Hololive aside from maybe Awakened Ina, the Council or Omegaα, who are themselves pretty much gods in terms of power. Thankfully, she's a nice girl, doesn't really like fighting all that much, and tends to travel around the world rather than just stay in Holo-City, because otherwise, anybody standing against Hololive would be pretty much screwed.
    • All of the above makes it somewhat terrifying to know that Kizuna Ai is, in some way, stronger (at least compared to base Sora). Being the first (and possibly only) person to have ever pushed Sora to her limits, not much is known about her abilities aside from that. However, Sora is currently left free to keep the title of "strongest talent", as Kizuna Ai is currently MIA after the empty universe expedition,
    • On the other hand, Baelz is effectively the most powerful Primordial. Not only does her authority let her nerf everybody within her set up territory, but she possesses a Calamity Trait that lets her both bypass any powers used against her and screw with the very rules of nature and reality without issue. This makes her pretty much impossible to defeat in a 1v1 fight, and is the main reason why IRyS wants to get her on her side against Omegaα.
    • If we're talking about literal physical strength however, a Freeze-Frame Bonus reveals that Noel is considered this among hololive's active talents. Problem is, she lacks sufficient control, at least by Earth standards, leading to her absolutely demolishing a car from the inside out by simply trying to drive it.
  • Yellow Lightning, Blue Lightning: When Iofi uses her In My Image ability to use lightning attacks, it is signified by the color yellow.
