The Cabal are right about the Spiral being doomed.
Grandmother Raven broke Spider's heart by not loving him in return. She then stole it to stabilize the spiral, but since she broke it, it can only maintain the Spiral for so long. The heart losing it's grip is the doom that the Cabal predicted.- But luckily, Raven and Spider reconciling averts this doom, as the former gives the latter's heart back and restores its Spiral grip.
Just like in Pirate101, our mother will make an appearance.
It would be an interesting development, especially if it turns out that we have already known her by the time it's revealed.- The Pirate and their parents are from the Spiral, but the Wizard and their parents are not. The only way for someone outside of the Spiral to be sucked into it is Ambrose casting the carefully crafted spell. Ambrose has no reason to summon our mother at all.
Bartleby is grooming the wizard to be his eventual replacement.
Bartleby has lived along life, having to have spent most of it keeping the Spiral from falling apart, so it wouldn't be out of the question that he'd eventually grow tired and weary. When the wizard becomes powerful enough, Bartleby will pass his position onto them and will either die or just experience a peaceful life.
