WMG / Welcome to Chippendales

Go To

Loverboy's "The Kid is Hot Tonite" will be featured and experience a certain resurgence in popularity, much like what happened with "Be My Lover" when Pam & Tommy came out.
The song served as the soundtrack to the 18-minute Perfect Man routine starring Michael Rapp. The full trailer has seemingly confirmed said routine will be depicted in the show, which had been implied by the description of Lance as "the Ultimate Specimen".
  • Sadly jossed. The routine in question is actually performed to an original song.

Lance will have a bigger role than the promotional materials are making him out to have.
It's certainly curious that he isn't featured as prominently in the trailers or press releases, considering Spencer Boldman is one of the few actors in the cast to have worked in a Robert Siegel project before (as its leading man, no less!). We know Otis will have a storyline, concerning his tension with Steve in regards to being the Token Minority of the Chippendales troupe, but Lance could have a prominent role too, possibly one that could give too much away if featured in the trailers.
  • Somewhat jossed. It's been said that Lance isn't in a lot of scenes, "but when he is, he makes an impression", which makes it sound like he's being set up as a potential Ensemble Dark Horse.

Otis will gradually stop dancing and turn to the business side of Chippendales before his eventual departure.
This will be caused by a variety of factors, including his isolation from the other dancers, his discomfort in being touched inappropriately, his already burgeoning interest in being Steve's apprentice, and possibly, the introduction and rapid popularity of Lance, who will presumably upstage him as the club's most popular dancer before relocating to New York. If this does happen, it'll be at some point after the development of the first Chippendales calendar, which Otis seems to be posing for in the full trailer.

Denise and Lance will have a workplace fling/affair.
The multiple affectionate social media interactions between Juliette Lewis and Spencer Boldman seem to imply that, out of all the series regulars, Lance will interact the most with Denise, which makes sense as they both relocate to New York with Nick. It's possible this could lead to some kind of romantic and/or sexual tension between them, as neither appears to have a significant other (Denise certainly doesn't seem to be married, judging by her lack of a wedding ring) like the other characters do (Steve and Irene eventually marry, Nick gets together with the New York investor played by Andrew Rannells, and Otis is Happily Married himself).
  • CONFIRMED. In "Velveeta", they have sex while Denise is high on cocaine, and it's her admiring his perfect body that gives her the idea for the Hunkenstein's Manster number.
