     Pre-Release

Toxin will appear for The Stinger.
Now it's probable that he isn't going to be in this film proper, since both Carnage and Shriek are in it and having another character would clutter it up. But keep in mind; there was a tease for one Patrick Mulligan in the trailer, indicating that Sony could work him in at any time.
Now provided that Carnage doesn't fall into Superhero Movie Villains Die syndrome, he would birth Toxin and shape a The Good, the Bad, and the Evil plot between the three; Venom as the Anti-Hero, Carnage as the Big Bad and Toxin as...a wild card.
  • Unfortunately Carnage does die and Toxin doesn't appear in The Stinger. However, the last we saw of Mulligan, he was talking about monsters while his eyes glow ominously, hinting at a possible future as Toxin in a future film.

Carnage will ditch Shriek towards the end.
Maximum Carnage showed how much of a Domestic Abuser Carnage is to Shriek, so unless Adaptational Nice Guy is in order, it's likely that the guy's gonna pull You Have Outlived Your Usefulness for her, especially since she's a relatively minor villain up to here.
  • Yes and no, Carnage wants to ditch Shriek at the end. But Cletus is vehemently against it and fights with his symbiote over him trying to kill her.

Venom WILL get a Chest Insignia of some sort this time.
I'm sorry. That bit still bugs the hell out of me. Even if it's just a giant white streak all over his chest like black cats have, I'd roll with it.

Venom and Carnage get a temporary merged form alike to the first film
Granted, it's fine if they do something different. It's just that the final symbiote shot in the trailer could possibly be this.

There will either be a reference to Spider-Man or the MCU in general which hints that the SUMC and MCU take place in the same universe now that Sony and Marvel have reached a deal
It doesn’t even have to be a big reference, just something that indicates that there might be a shared universe.
  • Likely, considering the Daily Bugle appearing in the trailer, as well as a conspicuously-placed scene of Kasady crushing a spider.
  • Eddie and Venom will learn of Peter being framed by Mysterio in a post credits scene. Venom is in utter disbelief that an innocent-looking kid could be a murderer and suggests they go to New York to investigate.
  • Any reference to MCU Spider-Man or the other characters like the Avengers will be indirect since Sony doesn't own the rights to the vast majority of Marvel Universe IPs.
  • Confirmed, but they don’t take place in the same universe

Like the first movie, there will be a post-credits scene involving Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
Either it will be another simple "Meanwhile in another universe" clip from the movie's upcoming sequel, or it will show Eddie and Venom somehow ending up in that universe, revealing that he'll be showing up in said sequel.

Carnage actually spawned from the Riot symbiote in this version.
Given some of the things Riot borrowed in the last film, it's possible that despite being destroyed, a part of the symbiote got left behind (like when Venom and Riot briefly fused together before getting split back apart), ended up making its way on to Cletus, and of course, fused with his blood to become the Carnage symbiote.
  • Jossed, the Carnage symbiote is explicitly shown to be an offshoot of the Venom symbiote.

Carnage will kill Dan
In part to leave it open for Eddie and Anne to get back together but it also might drive Eddie and Venom to fight harder against Carnage because A) Eddie knows Dan is a good guy (they may end up bonding at some point in the movie to make it hurt more if Dan does die) and B) Anne will be devastated, and hurting her will be a major Berserk Button for both Eddie and Venom.

Considering we see Kasady looking at a picture of Anne as he says he is a vengeful man (could be a case of Never Trust a Trailer but that’s TBD), he might go after Anne to spite Eddie, but Dan may get in the way and take a fatal hit meant for Anne, either by accident or to protect her.

This film will confirm the SSU as a sub-universe to the MCU... through the use of an unrelated MCU side character, as opposed to any Spidey regulars.
Just to really drive home the connection/swat down any rumours that the canon is only one-way, or that they're separate universes. Venom is set in San Francisco, which is also where the Ant-Man films are set, and where Shang Chi and his supporting cast live. Although having Tom Holland's Spidey or his cast cameo would make the situation incredibly ambiguous, having Luis, Ava Starr/Ghost, or Katy bump into Eddie at a store, or live in his apartment building in the prior two's cases, would leave no room for ambiguity.
  • That would require Sony to negotiate with Marvel to use one of their characters with their permission. Also, we might not see any MCU character appear in the post-credits scene of Let There Be Carnage.
  • Confirmed that it's part of The Multiverse for the MCU. But it's through a cameo by Tom Holland in his Spider-Man suit and J Jonah Jameson.

Red Symbiotes are feared by other symbiotes due to being unnatural/insane.
Most incarnations of Carnage, regardless of host, are pretty much murderous powerful monsters, Venom's fear of Carnage is due to Symbiotes Racial Memory, so Venom knows point blank that a "Red One" is a massive threat, remember, in the first film, he took on Riot, and didn't back down, Venom retreating at the mere sight of Carnage implies Carnage is much more powerful than Riot by a long shot.
  • Not explicitly stated in the film. But given the history of red colored symbiotes in the comics attaching themselves to psychopaths. Barring Toxin. It's possible.
    • if the movies ever get into the symbiotes backstory it could also related to all-black, which despite its name is more prominently red when wielded by the symbiotes god Knull, so it could be seen as divine to the symbiotes, given who there god is Venoms oh crap reaction is appropriate
Tom Holland will appear in The Stinger
  • Confirmed

Alternatively, J. Jonah Jameson will appear in The Stinger
He will call Eddie about a job he wants him to do, alluding to the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
  • Confirmed, but that scenario doesn’t happen

The chickens in Eddie's apartment are food for Venom.
Realistically Venom can't always get someone to eat, and even when he can like a lot of people in real life he'd probably enjoy the occasional snack every now and again.
  • Confirmed, Eddie bought them for Venom to eat. But Venom refuses because "They are best friends."

     Post-Release

Carnage will return
But it'll be a version of Carnage native to the MCU that'll somehow hitch a ride with Eddie and Venom should they ever find a way back to their home universe.

Prior to the Disney/Fox merger, the end credits was going to see Venom transported to the X-Men Film Series
We know Shriek is a mutant in the comics, and early in the film, she mentions her mutations growing out of control and being sent to a place for people like her. Now we know she was being sent to Ravencroft. But that doesn't mean that isn't a possibility.

She-Venom will return but in a different way
Although Anne Weying had little screen time as She-Venom in the previous movie, and in this sequel, She-Venom is back here again and with little screen action, Anne and Eddie put an end to their relationship at the end of the sequel, after Eddie and Venom become fugitives, and Eddie and Venom end up transported to the MCU. It is unlikely that we will see She-Venom again in the MCU without Anne, but it is likely that an Expy of Anne Weying from the MCU turns into She-Venom, even She-Venom could have her own Spin-Off in the MCU.

Venom wasn't at his best during the fight against Carnage
Granted, Venom's reaction already suggests that "a red one" is far more powerful than average, but Venom probably wasn't in his best fighting condition. He'd just spent multiple days body-hopping between less-than-ideal hosts. Judging by how he acted by the time he arrived at Mrs. Chen's place (talking about being hungry and needing chocolate), he's worn out from it and probably hasn't eaten properly during that time. Not even some chickens. Maybe the shipment of chocolate came in and he managed a snack before Anne shows up, but Carnage has definitely eaten more brains recently (the warden and the guy in the alley, at a minimum). And then Carnage even grabs another meal during the fight to give himself an energy boost. The fact that Venom managed to win that fight is more impressive if you take into account the last several days.

     Sequel Theories

There will be a Prequel film or series focusing on Cletus's life
Except it will be taking place during his life before the events of the Venom film franchise.

There will be a Prequel film or series focusing on Shriek
Given that we only know that she has a power which is a sonic blast by echoing that she met Cletus when he came to the orphanage, it can be possible for her to have a film or series to focus on her life before the events of Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

She-Venom will have more prominence and could even have Ascended Extra in Venom 3
We will see very soon in the third Venom movie, Eddie and Venom who will return and face off against Detective Patrick Mulligan who will be Toxin in Venom 3. There I heard loudly a rumor that there will be a lot of She-Venom in Venom 3, which she will help Venom to defeat Toxin.

Anne Weying will get her own symbiote in Venom 3
She-Venom hasn't been used in a good way in the two Venom movies, aside from having little screen time. Maybe Anne Weying gets her own symbiote thanks Venom, since maybe he thinks Anne needs some protection, then Venom would give a small part of him to Anne, then Anne would become She-Venom and she would become a vigilante while she fights and eats criminals.

The door is open in sequel movies for both Carnage/Cletus to come back to life after their rather explicit deaths
Especially considering how in the Spider-Man: No Way Home, it was shown how Dr. Strange's spells could resurrect past villains who had died in previous Spider-Man movies throughout the multiverse. While that spell didn't affect Carnage because of its particular nature, it at least opens up the possibility for Death Is Cheap in future Marvel movies and Carnage could be brought back another way, possibly if they ever adapt the King in Black storyline and Knull shows up to resurrect Carnage since he is basically a symbiote god who might be able to bring both Cletus and his symbiote back.

Shriek will return
Despite being killed by the bell near the end of the sequel film, there are some possibilities for how Shriek could return in the future, due to their being a multiverse of Marvel. If she does return, she could team up with a possible MCU Variant of herself, in a series.

Venom 3 will start where it left-off
Venom 3 will start where the previous film left off where Venom and Eddie are sent back to there universe in the beginning of the film.

Venom and Eddie will notice something wrong with the Symbiote
Since they are now unaware of leaving some part of the Symbiote behind in No Way Home, they will later realize that they have accidentally left a few Symbiote in the MCU Verse.

Possible Ideas for what might happen in Venom 3
With Venom 3 in development, there are some possibilities for what might be happening in the threequel film.
  • Venom/Eddie exploring throughout the MCU Multiverse.

Possible Titles for Venom 3
With the sequel being called Venom: Let There Be Carnage, there are some possibilities for Venom 3 having titles.

Possible Villains who might be the Big Bad of Venom 3
Well, since Venom 3 is in development, there could be some possibilities for who which villain might be the Big Bad of the threequel film.
  • Knull
  • Toxin/Patrick Mulligan: He absorbed a piece of one of the symbiotes, giving him glowing blue eyes.

Scream will appear in Venom 3
Since it is one of the only symbiote that have not made an appearance yet, it would be surprising for Scream to appear in Venom 3.

Spider-Man will appear in a future installment
Specifically, Peter-3.
Back in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter-3 states that he wishes he could have fought an alien, given that Peter-2 fought an alien made of black goo, and Peter-1 had tussled with Thanos. Additionally, a deleted scene in Morbius (2022) shows a picture of Spider-Man defaced with graffiti that says "MURDERER". Peter-3 also mentioned that he eventually stopped pulling punches in his career, which, given his strength, could have easily led to a possible Accidental Murder.

The Raimi version of Venom will be the Big Bad of Venom 3
He'll have been brought to the Sonyverse for the same inexplicable reason Vulture was brought there at the end of Morbius. Grace!Eddie will at first team up and be friends with Hardy!Eddie, but it will be because he saw how much stronger his Symbiote is and try to take it for himself. He'll manage to get Hardy's Symbiote, and Venom will be unable to resist Grace because of how strong his hatred is, fusing their Symbiotes together and even finally giving Venom his spider emblem. Patrick, now Toxin, teams up with Hardy to get Venom back from Grace.
