There is a darker side to the hybrid phenomenon that hasn't been touched on in the comic yet
We have seen traces of it in the comic, from the dragons being ostracised in their home-town to Benji's theory about why he was put up for adoption, but the really bad stuff is out of sight so far. Considering what goes on in our world, it's easy to imagine what that bad stuff might be.Confirmed here
