- Percy himself.
- This might be averted, as Taliesin Jaffe has stated that his idea for the list on the gun when someone asked about it for the RP that the blank spot is meant to represent that after he killed those on his list, more names would appear of people to kill, most likely a part of his Deal with the Devil.
- As revealed in episode 10, it's his sister Cassandra, just like in the original stream. Moreover, Taliesin's idea is incorporated wholesale, with Vox Machina now appearing on the gun in place of the Briarwood crew once VM resists Orthax even a little; the obvious implication is that, if following Orthax, Percy would never remove names from the pepperbox permanently.
- In the very first episode "The Terror Of Tal'Dorei Part I", Vex calls on Keyleth in the heat of battle with Brimscythe to use her magic and later gets aggravated that Keyleth freezes up in panic and fear. However in the 5th episode "Fate's Journey" Vex passive-agressively tells Keyleth she'll "get [her] shit together eventually" and in the 9th episode "The Tide Of The Bone", when Keyleth successfully uses her powers to create a massive ice barrier to freeze a horde of murderous zombies and Vax proudly tells Keyleth she's amazing Vex impatiently says "Yes, yes she's the tits. We still have to go!". This could mean that maybe Vex knows full well that Keyleth is more powerful than her and is mad that Keyleth has all these abilities that Vex never will and she can't use them properly. Especially since even though Vex'ahlia is a gifted archer and fighter, she's also the only female member of Vox Machina with no magical abilities.
- Another possible reason for Vex's initial animosity towards Keyleth could be their different upbringings. Keyleth grew up in Zephrah, a beautiful nature-commune type of village where the Ashari residents are on good terms with each other and other Ashari and leap to each others aids whenever trouble befalls them. Vex'ahlia grew up in a cold, uptight city populated mostly by elves who treat all beings who are not 100% elven with disdain and contempt. Keyleth has a father who unconditionally loves and dotes on her and fully believes she is destined for greatness as the Voice Of The Tempest and tells Keyleth so. By contrast, Vex's father is a cold, abusive, controlling Jerkass who belittles Vex and Vax'ildan for being half-elf and firmly believes neither of the twins will ever amount to anything that isn't a criminal. We get a glimpse of this in "The Terror Of Tal Dorei Part 2" after Vox Machina is rewarded Greyskull Keep for slaying Brimscythe the Dragon when Keyleth happily gushes how she can't wait to tell her dad about what happened and hugs the twins, unlike Vax'ildan, who smiles at Keyleth, Vex glares daggers at her. This could be chalked up to Vex simply not liking others who aren't Vax or Trinket to touch her (at least initially), but it could also be read as Vex interpreting Keyleth as (completely unintentionally) flaunting her loving relationship with her father in Vex's face.
- One last possible reason for Vex'ahlia's former jealousy and resentment of Keyleth is that as a druid Keyleth has the power to talk to any species of animal. This includes species of bears, and who in Vox Machina do we know owns a bear? Even though we never see her do it on-screen, this means Keyleth can and most likely has spoken to Trinket while Vex can't. In Vex's eyes, Keyleth isn't just stealing her brother away, she's stealing her pet too.
Why? Because it's not Pike; there's something else in her head messing with her. Expect this to become a plot point further on in the season.
- Jossed. No plot point relating to this was in the season. Pike's plot point was about learning that she could still be a follower of the Everlight despite her crass behavior, not an entity messing with her head.
- Partially confirmed, so far. In order to rally the survivors against the army of undead, he announces himself as "Lord Percival Fredrickstein von Musel Klossowski de Rolo the Third" as he takes his place as the rightful de Rolo heir and head of La Résistance and vows vengeance for Archie, the de Rolos, and Whitestone.
- Allura is much colder to Vox Machina in the animated series than in the original game, so sending them out to find and rescue Kima would not only help to endear them to her, but would also present some chances to hint at the relationship between Allura and Kima. Kraghammer could also be where Kaylie is introduced.
- Jossed, as Allura and Kima are shown to have escaped the destruction of Emon together.
- After the Conclave attacks, being sent to Vasselheim for aid would be a logical next step. That could be where they learn about the Vestiges and led to the Slayer's Take to learn more, with the episodes where they split the party and Zahra and Kashaw are introduced as a means of gaining the Take's trust to meet Osysa.
- Essentially confirmed. Vox Machina seek help in Vasselheim in episode 2, and resort to meeting the Slayer's Take (including Kashaw and Zahra) after getting nowhere with Highbearer Vord. The series works in a nod to how VM got involved with the Take in-stream by establishing that Vex and Vax have a prior adversarial acquaintance with Zahra and the Slayer's Take due to poaching a hydra from them, similar to Vox Machina kill-stealing a hydra that was the Take's quarry in the stream.
- From there it would be an abbreviated version of the rest of the Conclave arc, with each episode devoted to either acquiring a Vestige or killing a member of the Conclave, the season ending with Scanlan's breakdown and leaving the party.
- This will set up a mini-arc version of the Kraghammer/Underdark quest for the start of season 2; after learning from Krieg about Brimscythe's allies, Uriel sent Kiva to investigate strange happenings under Kraghammer, and now they need Vox Machina to find her.
- More David Tennant.
One of the advantages of this animated retelling is that Pike gets to participate more with the events of the plot now that her player doesn't have availability issues, so why would they then create a subplot to split her off from the party anyway? Because she didn't lose her connection to the Everlight due to Delilah's attack, it's actually a secret test of her faith and passing it will demonstrate her as the Everlight's champion, earning her the Plate of the Dawnmartyr; there's a brief moment in the Red Band trailer where Pike is having a Beam-O-War with Delilah at the Ziggurat and has a more noticeably armored appearance, indicating that when she returns to the party she'll be bringing something back with her.
This will then serve as the introduction for Vestiges in Season 2, as someone with more historical knowledge will point out that Pike has been given a powerful artifact and that the rest of Vox Machina will need similar artifacts to defeat the Chroma Conclave.
- Jossed. Vox Machina learns of the Vestiges from Osysa, who directs them towards the Deathwalker's Ward.
- Confirmed, Percy refers to his prosthetic as Diplomacy.
- Ehhh... Partially confirmed? It focuses on both Grog's backstory, as well as Vex and Vax's backstory.
- Jossed. Matt is Umbrasyl, Thordak is voiced by Lance Reddick
- Potentially un-jossed for Season 3 since Thordak, unfortunately, needs a new voice actor. Maybe it will be Matt.
How, if at all, Taryon would be integrated into the story of the animated series, I couldn't guess — Scanlan being Put on a Bus only to be immediately replaced with another character played by Sam Riegel is a trope that works perfectly well at a gaming table but would be rather bewildering the new medium. But, as was highlighted in the stream on the one occasion Scanlan and Taryon had a conversation with each other, the two sound exactly the same. My guess here is that Scanlan was made more American in the animated series as foresight for the debut of Tary, who will sound more English, as befits his posh personality in comparison to the crass Scanlan.
- Even in the game Scanlan leaving and then the group immediately meeting Tary wasn't how it was supposed to happen and was due to a miscommunication between Matt and Sam. Tary was supposed to be introduced the following episode and the team would meet him wherever they had chosen to go to next, which is likely how it'll go in the show. This will put some in universe time between the two events and they may even be separated by season breaks.
