     Hajimari pre-release theories
Hajimari is a prequel title, not a sequel like many speculated
  • Putting forth this theory because the title sounds suspiciously like a prequel.
    • Jossed, official materials says this game takes place 5 months after Cold Steel IV.

The masked woman in the intro fighting Rixia is a Brainwashed and Crazy Ilya.
  • Also, the masks can change the hair color of a person.
    • Confirmed!

There's some supernatural force messing with people's heads again.
  • Considering that Rufus willingly admitted defeat and turned himself in at the end of Cold Steel IV, there's no real reason for him to appear out in the open in an antagonistic fashion here. This is further supported by Dieter seemingly joining him, as before these two would not likely have teamed up willingly.
    • For a given value of supernatural. It's apparently simulation using Magitek gone wrong.

Guesses as to C's true identity.
  • Crow, specifically the one from Cold Steel IV's Normal Ending. We already see what is all but confirmed to be Rean from said Normal Ending, so Crow showing up is definitely on the table, especially since NE Rean's appearance would justify his participation in this game. The mask then would be so people wouldn't get confused by the fact that two people with the same face are running around on the same continent as each other. Also note that the magic circle used in C's S-Craft looks quite similar to the one Crow uses during "Cross Rebellion."

  • Cedric. C's motive is to investigate the Imperial Defense Force, the group that took over the Vander family's duty to guard the Imperial Family. It would make sense for Cedric to want to make sure they're not up to anything that would endanger his family. It would also make sense why he would wear a mask, given that he was disgraced for teaming up with Osborne. He can't show his face around Erebonia without stirring up trouble, hence the disguise. Also, considering Crow saved him in a Heroic Sacrifice at the end of Cold Steel II, it would make sense for him to take up Crow's old alias in honor of him.
    • Jossed
  • Bleublanc.
    • Jossed
  • Rufus. This actually comes from a guess of vocal recognition. Even with the distortion, those who've heard it note how the voice sounds like Daisuke Hirakawa, which, combined with C's speech patterns in Japanese, has made many guess that the masked protagonist is Jusis' older brother. This also explains his prowess with the sword, as well as why the "stream" behind him when using his S-Craft is green, despite said color not matching C's color scheme, nor the background color. Of course, given the scene where C and Rufus are battling each other, this would have to mean that the Rufus with the red cape is not the one we know, which would also explain his apparent return to villainy.
    • Confirmed!

     Hajimari theories

The Elysion system was reverse-engineered from the Recluse Cube from Sky 3rd.
The system behaves too similarly to the cube for this to be a coincidence. Furthermore, the cube ended up in the hands of Erika Russell, Tita's mom, at the end of 3rd after Kevin sufficiently believed that it is now completely benign, largely to call a truce for inconveniencing her for Tita's disappearance after the cube activated. What's to say that Erika, being a scientist with no ethics (as noted in the 3rd, she got back into Liberl illegally, and was really willing to kill Agate, a fully-certified bracer and has been proven time and time again to be trustworthy, over him swearing to protect Tita), would decide to reverse engineer the cube, and after seeing that predicting the future and large scale simulation are among the features of the cube, set about trying to replicate the cube and ended up designing the Reverse Babel and Elysion System? After all, Reverie happens almost 3 years after the events of Sky 3rd. In the trails universe, 3 years is a lot of time.
  • Self-Jossing. It was created by the spirit veins interacting with the orbal net and resulting in it's formation.
