While it could just as well be a Shout-Out, it would be nice that the gang that Jacob and Evie Frye left behind is still going strong into the 21st Century. Even moreso if they repaired their image after being led by Jack the Ripper. The Rooks will end up Neutral No Longer when it comes to Ansel Crane
While it may have to involve having Niles in your team in a premium choice, there may be options to turn a gang that has no stake in what you do into someone who wants to make sure that he goes down in humiliating flames, perhaps even exposing other dark secrets he's kept hidden.- Jossed, but they do offer you a membership in the ending.
Ansel Crane is plotting to steal the crown jewels himself
Fits his Chronic Backstabbing Disorder.- Jossed. He's utterly loyal to Carlisle.
Sonia will pull a Heel–Face Turn
Conversely, Sonia will realize what a sleaze her boss is and give the team info on his movements as well as the Crown. Since Chapter 5 shows she can have Trust built up, it looks likely.- Confirmed in Chapter 15 where if you have high Trust with her, she helps you escape.
Someone in the gang is The Mole
It seems fishy for Ansel to have the drop on Lee's gang at every opportunity. Someone in the gang is working for him.- Jossed, everyone is loyal.
Ansel's phone will be used as an Engineered Public Confession
Chapter 13 has your Hacker use the Cloner to hack their phone in a premium choice. During the last couple chapters, there will be a chance to record Ansel as well as Carlisle which gives one or both of them a huge Villainous Breakdown and a Humiliation Conga in the end, especially as you make off with the Crown Jewels of Monaco.- Jossed. No opportunity like that ever comes up.
Should a sequel be made, it will be significantly Darker and Edgier
There will be a lot more murder and horrible crimes and criminal angst.- The villain will be Ansel, humiliated by Lee's victory, who would do everything in his power to capture and/or kill them and their gang.
- Or an Evil Counterpart to the caper crew, a greedier, crueler, more ruthless and murderous thief gang.
- Or the crew robs an even shadier businessman than Carlisle, or a crime lord.
- Or the crew rob the jewels of a dictatorship a la North Korea.
Ansel will redeem himself in the sequel.
While a Smug Snake supreme, he is to be portrayed sympathetically in the flashbacks. Perhaps when he makes an enemy out of the crew's enemy, he'll partner up with them again.
