- Everybody falls in love with Jane. The problem is their hearts all melt and liquify, forming a blob on the ground that grows and grows. However, Jane can't admit it to herself because she's so afraid the knowledge will turn her into a narcissist and she's too sweet for that. She loses her ability to see cause and effect and that causes her to see the melted hearts as a consuming monster that eats people alive.
Less of a guess, and more of a question: what would happen if the Blob met The Thing?
Would the Blob absorb the Thing, or would the Thing assimilate the Blob?- To find out, you'd have to sit back and wait while they fight, then see if the resulting mound of amorphous goo can still imitate things.
- They mate.
- The Thing can be killed with fire, while the Blob is apparently immune to every kind of damage. The Thing would not be able to assimilate the Blob, while the Blog would be able to absorb the Thing.
