- Wouldn't people have been warned to stay away from that part of Alaska by the sequel, or at least told what is there?
- Keep in mind, this was during the Cold War, and the presence of a nigh-indestructible potential superweapon could be very tempting to the wrong people on either side. Keeping it so top-secret that nobody knew what was there was apparently a gamble that didn't pay off.
- If the titular blob is so weak to cold temperatures that some fire extinguishers can stop it in its tracks completely, how did it survive in space for so long?
- Cold temperatures don't "kill" it, just stop it. It could "survive" perfectly well in space, hurtling around inside an inert meteorite.
