    Nintendo characters
  • Katherine Sunday is a Bayonetta who largely does not attack, as Katherine herself is a very passive character, fought on Pirate Ship as a stand-in for the Gabbiano she spends her home game aboard. Her spirit boosts Water & Ice Attack.
  • Jean-Eric & Oceana Louvier are a blue-camo'ed Snake and a yellow Wii Fit Trainer who similarly do very little active fighting. The fight is on Tortimer Island as a stand-in for Nineball Island, and their spirit grants the Swimmer buff.

  • Chattur'gha is a giant red Donkey Kong faced on Final Destination. Befitting his status as a Dumb Muscle, his battle is a no-frills one.
  • Ulyaoth is a giant blue Robin faced on Final Destination. Black Holes spawn often to represent his portals.
  • Xel'lotath is a trio of green Zero Suit Samus faced on Final Destination. One of them is the main fighter and must be defeated to win, and the screen often flips alongside reversing your controls to represent her ability to play on the mind.
  • Mantorok is a giant purple Kirby with 500HP who must be killed before the time runs out.
  • Pious Augustus is a Robin equipped with Death's Scythe often spamming his spells and sporting 500 HP and auto-heal, but the real targets would be a series of randomly appearing colored Kirby's playing the Ancients' essences that would need to be KO'ed, alluding to his mild Puzzle Boss status.

  • John Raimi is a Piranha Plant fought in Frigate Orpheon, as Raimi's spectral form is known for possessing normally inanimate objectsnote , and the Orpheon resembles the Volks Compound which was running futuristic experiments resulting in the presence of strange, alien-like creatures. Yuri Kozukata's Assist Trophy could also be in play, both because of her connection to ghosts and because she stuns the character she photographs, akin to how time appears nearly frozen while Raimi is in spirit form. His spirit would enhance back into his human form and grant Irreversible Controls, basically making you immune to possession of a sort.

  • The Odama is a match against a giant metal Sonic who would spend as much of the fight in ball form as possible, with a couple small Marths to act as the ground troops. They would be fought on Omega Suzaku Castle as a reference to the flatland Japanese setting, and the spirit would grant Impact Run.

  • Star Man is a no-frills timed battle in Boxing Ring against a purple Incineroar who often spams his special moves. His spirit boosts physical attack.

  • The School Library Pep Squad, an Advanced spirit is represented by twelve Robins who prefer to use special attacks, alluding to their use of books in their cheering. Fortunately, they're all easy to defeat. Once obtained, they can give you a boost to your down special when used.
  • The Tap Troupe is a Novice Spirit who possesses four giant Bayonetta's, as she is one of the fighters with the longest legs in the game, with a preference for attacks involving the legs. When beaten, they give you a boost to attacks involving legs and feet.
  • The Stepswitchers, an Advanced spirit, are represented by eight white Mr. Game and Watches who can collectively reverse controls. When obtained, they give you a resistance to reversing controls.
  • The doctor from Sick Beats pits you against a black Kirby, which gets replaced by a pink Kirby when it gets KO'd, and then further replaced by a blue Kirby - representing the different levels of viruses that the doctor has to defeat in the minigame. The Kirbies occasionally get enhanced speed, and the doctor will provide you with Move Speed Up as a support spirit.
  • LumBEARjack and Lumbercats are an Novice spirit with a Villager who, of course, spams Timber, and two yellow small Incineroar. When the battle has gone for long enough, even more small Incineroar appear, up to five more, as a reference to the end of LumBEARjack where more Lumbercats appear just before the song comes to an end. Only Villager needs to be defeated.
  • Tap Trial Girl is an Ace spirit who possesses a red Peach and two Diddy Kongs who all use leg attacks.
  • Monkey Watch is a Neutral type Legend class primary spirit with a Power of 10,360note  where you fight 39 Diddy Kongs (All of them are color 2) and 18 Donkey Kongs (all of them are Color 8) I know that may seem like a lot.... The enemy is fought in waves in the same order as the first rotation of the Monkey Watchnote . You even fight the same number of monkeys as the first rotation! Similar to the Monkey Watch, you need to beat the Yellow Monkeys before the Purple ones appear. The battle takes place on the Umbra Clock Tower with hazards off, with a hostile Isaac Assist Trophy appearing at Wave 5 and beyondnote . A timer item will spawn twice per wave: Once when the Diddy Kongs appear, and another time after you defeat one of the D Ks from the wave you're on. Notably, the CPUs will scramble to try to get the timer before you do. A Hazard to be wary of is Earthquakesnote  which will happen every 12 seconds and lasts for 6 seconds, then stops for another 12 seconds before starting up againnote . In addition with this, you'll need to deal with Fog,note  as well as the D Ks being able to use their Final Smash twice in a rownote . In addition to this, the D Ks will suddenly get a Final Smashnote (the Diddy Kongs will have their FS Meter fill up quickly as well), with both the D Ks and Diddy Kongs having their Final Smashes, Special Attacks, and Smash Attacks powered up. The Diddy Kongs will be more than happy to use combos, and use the Banana Peel to give them openings for Smash Attacks and starting combos. Donkey Kong will usually try to finish you off quickly, whether it's with his forward throw offstage, or spiking you. If he can't finish you off quickly, chances are that one of them will grab you while the other gets close to use a Smash Attack or Neutral Special. DK will also try to use his Side Special to get another strong attack off, or to prevent you from escaping the startup of his Final Smash. Should you complete this battle, you are rewarded with a Primary Spirit with 2 slots and the "Team Powerup" ability.

  • Dragaux is a Legendary Attack Spirit represented by a giant Black Incineroar. He's accompanied by a few Wii Fit trainers (about 4) and crates spawn on the stage, which is Battlefield Unova Pokémon League. The enemies have increased attack and defense, and Dragaux often taunts. Once defeated, the spirit has increased physical attack.
    • Confirmed! And he's a giant black Incineroar!

  • Mike Jones is a Ness who exclusively attacks using his bat and yo-yo smash attacks, replicating Mike's own arsenal. He's fought on Tortimer Island, being a tropical isle similar to the ones he spends his original game exploring. The Andross assist trophy would periodically spawn as a stand-in for Zoda.

  • Airan Jo is represented by a black Zero Suit Samus, akin to Airan's grey jacket that she wears for most of the game. Her ranged attacks' power are increased and she will start the game with a Beam Sword, referencing the Dolphin Gun. The stage will be Shadow Moses Island, referencing the first level of stage 2-1 from Sin & Punishment. After completing the fight, you'll obtain her spirit, which is a primary advanced attack spirit with 2 slots and the ability to increase your shooting attacks.

  • Matt, the memetic Steve Harvey lookalike and champion of Mii boxing and swordfighting, makes his grand appearance. His fight is set in Boxing Ring and the opponent is a Mii Brawler with Matt's likeness. He starts with a Belt Sword so he can box and sword fight at the same time. His spirit increases the power of fist attacks.

Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War
  • Cipher is an Ace battle that initially starts with a group of six Foxes, three red and three green. You only have to defeat the red Foxes to continue, as defeating the green ones spawn yellow, pacifist Foxes to replace them (similar to green enemies in Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War turning yellow when they're disabled and retreating). The fight takes place on Wuhu Island, referencing File Island where most tamers start their journeys. Once the Yoshi is defeated, it's replaced with a larger red Bowser as if digivolving into Greymon, then an even larger Meta-Ridley as if turning into MetalGreymon, and then finally a regular-sized Metal Charizard with increased attack and a Back Shield as if becoming WarGreymon. The entire gauntlet is a Stamina Battle to simulate how the original v-pets fought, with Yoshi having a measley 30 HP, Bowser having 50, Meta-Ridley having 70, and Charizard having 100. Agumon can be enhanced into each of its later forms, with each one taking more and more effort to get to the next stage; this references how you have to take good care of your Digimon to make it grow stronger. Most Digimon spirits will work this way, with the Champion forms being Advanced spirits, the Ultimate forms being Ace spirits, and the Mega forms being Legend spirits. Once it becomes WarGreymon, it gives a power boost to fist attacks as if the player was equipped with its Dramon Killers.
  • Gabumon would be a similarly deceptively powerful Novice shield spirit starting as a black and blue Banjo-Kazooie, which is the closest to Gabumon's face we're going to get (plus, the blue Kazooie could reference its fur pelt). The battlefield this time is Mushroom Kingdom II, which takes place on a body of water; this references Dragon's Eye Lake, where a Gabumon famously digivolved into its Champion level to save its partner. Speaking of digivolution, the fight will once again be a four-phase Stamina Battle; defeating Banjo causes a black Duck Hunt to appear in reference to Garurumon, then a cyan Lucario to reference WereGarurumon before finishing up with a metal Wolf with a Rocket Belt and a Super Scope to simulate MetalGarurumon. Like Agumon, Gabumon can be sequentially enhanced into each of its later forms, with the final MetalGarurumon giving the user a Super Scope.
  • Omnimon would be a Legend neutral spirit summoned from fusing the fully-enhanced WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon spirits with a support core. As a result, it would be among the best spirits in the game due to the sheer amount of work you had to do to meet its requirements. It would have 3 support slots due to it being the de facto leader of the Royal Knights, and its effect gives a massive power boost to all attacks that use any sort of weapon, referencing its Grey Sword and Garuru Cannon.
  • Biyomon is an attack-type spirit that would be fought on Gerudo Valley (Battlefield) to stand in for the Gear Savannah, and is first fought as a green and purple Banjo-Kazooie, with Kazooie being the stand-in. The fully-enhanced HerculesKabuterimon grants additional power to electric attacks.
  • Palmon is a grab-type fought as a green Ivysaur on Yoshi's Island (Brawl) with the floor being poisonous to reference Palmon's Poison Ivy attack. Rosemon as an equippable spirit grants poison immunity.

When fully enhanced, Vikemon grants immunity to icy floors.
  • Patamon is a neutral-type spirit fought on Skyworld, referencing its most common evolution line, and is initially fought as an Ethan-hat Pikachu in reference to how the localization pushed it as the mascot to compete with Pikachu. Upon defeat, it becomes a blue Pit with a Staff (Angemon), then a purple Dark Pit with a Beam Sword (MagnaAngemon), then a metal Richter with a sudden Final Smash (Seraphimon). The fully-enhanced Seraphimon grants power to all light-based attacks. Alternatively, the final opponent could be a yellow Ganondorf with permanent Superspicy Curry and two tiny red and blue Kirbies (Goldramon), and the fully-enhanced spirit could grant the same effect.
  • Salamon is a neutral type that starts out as a blue Isabelle that is fought on Saffron City (no hazards), which references the real-life headquarters of Fuji TV in Odaiba where a certain battle takes place. Defeating it replaces it with a flower-eared Pichu (Gatomon), then a pink Palutena (Angewomon), and finally either a purple Charizard (Magnadramon) or a Tiki-colored Lucina (Ophanimon) depending on Bandai Namco's decision at the time. Regardless of the form that's decided on, Magnadramon/Ophanimon would grant resistance to darkness attacks due to Adventure!Gatomon pulling a Heel–Face Turn.

The fight takes place on Final Destination's Battlefield form, which references the End of Time (which has a similar look and name) as well as Chrono Trigger's position-based battle system.

Freezies appear as a nod to her ice magic, and she can be fought in Garreg Mach Monastery's marketplace in reference to the Guardia Fair where Crono bumps into her.

She also comes with a Fire Flower to reference her flamethrower and fire magic. In addition, the fight takes place on the Bridge of Eldin stage which not only takes place in front of a castle, as if you were fighting in Guardia, but it also serves as a throwback to the Dragon Tank boss fight.
