    Pre-Release

Sing 2 will focus on Buster setting up a new production with all the contestants as his cast.
To capitalize on everyone's new found popularity and to start his comeback to the theater with a bang, Buster will start a new production and hire all of the original contestants to perform it. This of course will lead to all manner of drama with Moon trying to mediate so many different personality types to put on a good show. Even though most of the contestants are on good terms, only two of them actually performed together, so their styles will naturally clash. Biggest road hurdle will of course be Mike, who will insist on being the star and receiving the best treatment which will slowly drive a wedge between everyone.
  • Confirmed!

Sing 2 will have a brand-new cast of characters
This could be like one of those franchises that like to mix it up now and again, focusing on new contrasting characters. Leave your thoughts on what singers should voice any of them.
  • Jossed, kinda. Ash, Rosita, Gunter, Meena, Johnny, and Mike will all be back, but there will be some new characters.

Eddie will be Demoted to Extra in Sing 2
  • John C. Reilly isn't listed on the poster or on IMDB's page for the sequel so it's easy to assume this will happen.
    • Jossed. He makes no appearance in the sequel.

Mike will be Demoted to Extra in Sing 2
  • Like Reilly above, Seth MacFarlane isn't listed on the poster. Assuming he wasn't Killed Off for Real as his last scene in the film might suggest, he could simply be relegated to a smaller role or at least a cameo in the sequel.
    • Jossed. He makes no appearance in the sequel.

    Post-Release

The reason Mike didn't appear in the sequel
He wasn't eaten by the bears, but in fact he and Nancy escaped and skipped town to assume new identities. Mike was then forced to keep a low profile so as not to draw unwanted attention like in the first movie.
  • Alternatively, Mike did appear, but in a much smaller way. He simply blended in with the marching band of similar looking mice seen during the show in the film's opening. Buster hired him back, but demoted him from a lead singer to backup instrumentals, again to keep him on the down-low, at least until Mike could pay the bank back.

Jimmy Crystal wasn’t just emotionally abusive to Porsha, but also physically…
It likely didn’t happen very often, if only because Jimmy was always more concerned about his work than giving his family the time of day, but given his Hair-Trigger Temper and penchant for Disproportionate Retribution, it’s hard to imagine that he didn’t strike his daughter during her childhood, whenever she was trying to get his attention and was being particularly persistent while he was busy with his work. And heaven help little Porsha if she “embarrassed” her father during meetings with business partners or other important public figures. As she got older, Porsha likely learned (the hard way) what triggers her father and how to avoid it, and might be repressing her memories of her father’s abuse and/or convinced herself that she was at fault for badgering him.

Jimmy Crystal murdered Porsha's mother

Jimmy attempts to murder Buster and seems confident in doing so, something usually only seen in repeat offenders. Perhaps it was a Domestic Abuse situation and she intended on leaving with Porsha in tow, or they had already broken up and she was moving on, something Jimmy couldn't take, so he took care of the problem. A traumatized pup Porsha witnessed it and her father has been buying her silence ever since. Paying off a cop or two would take care of the legal problem.

Prior to the film's events, Crystal Entertainment had a notoriously high "suicide" rate
The company has had countless stories of performers and employees who apparently couldn't handle the big leagues and tragically "jumped" to their deaths from Crystal Tower. In reality, these poor souls simply offended Crystal, who lost his temper and threw them from the roof just as he tries to do with Buster. With Crystal now exposed and arrested, the truth behind these horrific deaths can finally be made public.

Porsha has learning difficulties
Her mispronunciations of certain words and struggles with delivering her dialogue could potentially be the result of dyslexia or dysgraphia, while her short attention span and generally impulsive nature could suggest ADHD. Though she's never been properly diagnosed, as her father had no interest in her education and never had her looked at.
