Post-Season 1 Theories

Savannah is a grandparent of either Harper or Griffin

Savannah ends up settling down in the 1960's, which would make her a part of Harper and Griffin's grandparents' generation. Its possible that she's one of their grandmothers. Possibilities include:

• Griffin's paternal grandmother, making her Ben's mother (who is never seen or mentioned throughout Season 1).
• Griffin's maternal grandmother, making her Sarah's mother (which is less likely, because Sarah would have known if her mother came from Sulphur Springs - though its possible that Savannah deliberately kept that a secret to preserve the timeline).
• Harper's maternal grandmother, making her Jess' mother. Jess is likely mixed-race (her actress is in real-life), making it possible that she had a white mother.

If this is true, then it leads to a Stable Time Loop - since Ben and Jess were both, in a way, indirectly responsible for Savannah traveling back to 1960 in the first place.

• Jossed. Griffin and Harper meet the elderly Savannah in 2020 and there's no reference to her being related to either of them.

The Tremont ghost is someone who is Just One Second Out of Sync

It is possible that the Tremont ghost is a time-traveler, or someone whose existence has been affected by time-travel. Either due to changes to the timeline, or due to something going wrong while time-traveling, they've ended up Just One Second Out of Sync, with only a limited ability to interact with the physical word as a 'ghost'.

Savannah will be the one to invent the time-portal

When Griffin and Harper show her the mechanism for controlling the portal in the season finale, she looked particularly fascinated by it. Its possible that between 1960 and 1990, she ends up becoming a scientist and develops the time-portal, to ensure that her younger self goes back in time - securing the happy life she led with loving foster parents that she always wanted.

The Beast in room 205 is...

The Null beast from The Room, tinfoil hats on! There's a magic crystal, check .Eldrich black goop? check! A ghost/soul? check check check! Allow me to explain the full extent of this headcanon/crossover.The crystal that powers the time machine is a Null crystal, powered by Graces' soul being bound to the hotel.The Beast in 205 is The Null Beast, and gives the little shock you get when you escape to another time.With Grace laid to rest, the crystal started loosing power over the weeks spent fixing up the hotel, and The Beast was getting restless and hungry.In 2024, The Null Beast breaks loose and gets ready to ERASE The Treamont from history and existence
