"King of the Creatures" is not just a song that Bumpus is famous In-Universe for, it's also his only song.

It got so insanely popular because people in this world are just THAT into songs about hunting and torturing animals. Bumpus being a one-trick pony would be very ironically fitting for his egotistical personality.

• Jossed: Examining the records in Bumpusville shows he does indeed have other songs to his name, at least four gold records, two platinum records and two tracks that did well enough to deserve commemorating. He is very much not a one trick pony. Just a tool.

Lee-Harvey would've been a big fan of the Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR, HTC Vive, etc.

When Sam & Max reach Bumpusville and talk to Lee-Harvey in the library about the VR headset, he remarks that Bumpus occasionally lets him play with it (opting to pretend he's a giant who indiscriminately squashes people). The way he talks about it seems to indicate he quite enjoys it, and with VR regaining public interest in recent history, if he hadn't been frozen with Bumpus he likely would've jumped at the chance to have his own VR headset not bound to Bumpusville's security system.
