Please move any Space Camp-related theories to the appropriate page.
In "Asteroid Belt Space Race", she acts lazy just to hide the fact that she has anti-gravity fluxinators installed in her saucer. When given the chance, she uses it on the other racers and wins.
I think she's secretly a bad guy who wants the Propulsions to, at the very least, fail. She wants them to leave Earth and to have no gravity on their saucer for some reason.
- The fact that Mitchell hides behind a rude exterior was confirmed in the episode, but his backstory was kept ambiguous.
- If there's a crossover, it will be a Big Damn Movie about asteroid impacts, how they caused the extinction of the dinosaurs, and various ways space scientists have come up with for deflecting them.

- Jossed. While a few Season 2 episodes are dark, such as Back to Bortron 7 and Jet Shrinks the Kids, it overall has the same tone as Season 1. On the other hand, there are some minor arcs here and there, such as the Mindy-going-to-space arc, as well as stronger continuity.
- Or, Sean's dad is still married to Dr. Rafferty, but he lives in the ISS or some other space shuttle. Sean's PBS bio said that he's the son of scientists and astronauts.
- Sydney, Sean, and Mindy explain Christmas to Jet
- Mindy wants to see Santa Claus
- Mitchell says that Santa isn't real
- The kids learn about seasons and how they result from Earth's orbit around the Sun and Earth's axial tilt relative to the ecliptic plane.
- Mitchell spies on Jet (as usual)
- Carrot and Celery fail to celebrate Christmas the "Earthie" way
- Pertaining to the picture that the Twitter posted, the kids put on some sort of stage play
- At the end, Jet dresses up as Santa and Sunspot dresses up as Rudolph and fly across the moon on makeshift sleigh
- Bonus: Being the shippers on deck that they are, the other kids try to get Mindy and Mitchell to kiss under the mistletoe. However, due to Jet's ignorance about Christmas, they almost kiss under holly until someone stops them. Because this is a kids' show.
- Luckily jossed. The Christmas special has been confirmed and it is called Holidays in Boxwood Terrace. It is not a rehash of the Halloween special, as the first part will focus on the kids putting on a pageant and the second part will focus on Jet searching for the Christmas Spirit, while Mitchell struggles to belong to the clique.
- Zerk decides to visit Earth. Being the jerk that he is, he tries to steal Sydney, Sean, and Mindy away from Jet. Jet tries to deal with it until he finally snaps and yells at Zerk, which shocks everyone.
- Jossed. This is the episode "Zerk Visits Earth", and it's mostly about...Zerk visiting Earth.
- Sean gets into a freak accident, and is put into the hospital. However, he had his arm amputated, and replaced with a robotic arm.
- Jossed. This is the episode "Sean's Robotic Arm", and it's about the kids building a robotic arm to retrieve Sean's missing Neil Armstrong action figure.
- The kids learn about rainbows. (Confirmed; this was "Bortron Leprechaun")
- Possibilities for "Sean Has a Cold":
- This episode will be written by Craig Bartlett. (Jossed, it was written by Rachel Lipman.)
- Basic plot: Sean is sick in bed with a cold. Jet tries to take care of him, and Hilarity Ensues. (Jossed; it's actually Sunspot taking care of him, and he isn't bedridden.)
- Sean will catch a cold from leaving his window open on a cold night. (Jossed, it's unknown how he caught a cold.)
- We will see the first onscreen appearance of Sean's hamster, Pedro. (Jossed.)
- The boys were planning on flying kites the next day (judging by the picture provided on the wiki), but have to postpone their plans because Sean is sick (weather issues are optional). (Sort of confirmed. Kites are involved in the episode's plot, but instead, the conflict is based on Sean not being able to fly kites with his friends because he's sick.)
- Jet and/or Sunspot will climb through Sean's window at least once. (Sort of confirmed. They didn't climb through the window, but they did get Sean's attention by jumping up to the window)
- Sunspot will be a Nurse with Good Intentions. (Jossed)
- Sunspot will try Bortronian medicine practices with predicable results. (Jossed)
- Sunspot will Freak Out every time Sean sneezes, expecting it to be a Sneeze of Doom (Call-Back to "Endless Summer"). (Jossed)
- And then, near the end of the episode, he actually does have a Sneeze of Doom! (Jossed. He didn't sneeze once. He did cough a lot, though.)
- Someone (probably Dr. Rafferty) will use the term "under the weather", so Sunspot runs offscreen and returns with an umbrella. (Jossed)
- Someone will compare a cold to being space-sick. (Jossed)
- If the episode has a curriculum...
- Temperature, since colds often come with a fever.
- Engineering, since that's how Sunspot plans to cheer Sean up.
- The power of imagination. (This one is confirmed)
- Halfway through the episode, Jet will absentmindedly ask Sunspot or Sean something, only to remember they're not there. Jet will then realize how much he misses them. (Jossed)
- The episode will be one of more tear-jerking episodes. Think about it: Sean will be miserable because he's sick and alone with only an alien who has no idea how to take care of him to keep him company. Sunspot will be panicky because he doesn't understand what's wrong with Sean, since he's only ever seen him space-sick, not Earth-sick. And that's only assuming that the only appearing characters are those two, plus Jet, Dr. Rafferty, Sydney, and (sigh) Mindy, and that Mitchell, Carrot and Celery, etc. aren't in this episode or at least have minor roles. (Jossed; it was actually a really heartwarming episode; plus we got an appearance from Carrot)
- We will see more of Dr. Rafferty's past. (Jossed)
- Face 9000 will come back. (Jossed)
- Two ways Sean could be Out of Character when he's sick:
- He'll be totally willing to fail at something, completely ignoring the Scientific Method.
- He'll be a gloomy and Prone to Tears, prompting Sunspot to try and make him giggle. (This one is confirmed. Sean was gloomy, but Sunspot cheered him up)
- The episode will feature Jet/Dr. Rafferty (I don't care who anymore, just please do this) singing Sean a lullaby (perhaps even a reprise of "You're Never Too Big For a Lullaby" or "Tiny Blue Dot"). ((sigh) Jossed)
- Possibilities for the second Halloween Episode ("That's One Gigantic Pumpkin, Jet Propulsion!")
- There will be an Imagine Spot in this episode where the kids and Carrot fly on giant pumpkins. (I saw some pictures involving this on the show's Twitter) (Confirmed. The song "Grow, Plant, Grow" has the kids riding on giant pumpkins)
- Mr. Peterson will be the judge of the pumpkin growing contest. (Confirmed)
- Jet will win the contest (unless it is revealed that he used Bortronian technology) (Confirmed - he did win)
- There will be a Call-Back to "Jet's First Halloween" (Confirmed)
- There are images pertaining to the episode that have Mindy, Mitchell, and Lillian in them (in fact, a clip where the three of them are saying "Trick or treat!" is showcased in PBS Kids' 2018 Halloween promo, which seems to hint that there will be a sub-plot involving the three. Possibilities:
- Mitchell, still showing traits of his Jerkass facade, tries to start an argument with Lillian due to her naïveté. Lillian is very annoyed at this. Mindy tries to meditate between the two. (Jossed. The subplot is mostly Mindy and Lillian trying to convince Mitchell that Halloween is magical).
- Mitchell and Lillian will become unlikely friends. (Jossed. The special had little interaction between them)
- The three are competing to see who can get the most candy. (Jossed)
- Mitchell will see Jet's giant pumpkin and will try to expose him, but will fail. (Confirmed)
- Possibilities for "Astronaut Ellen Ochoa":
- All the DSA scientists will be huge fans of her. (Somewhat confirmed. All the DSA scientists were eager to impress her, but Bergs seemed to be a big fan of her).
- Ochoa will star As Herself. If not, then she'll be voiced by some other, random actor. (The second one is confirmed. She was voiced by Kathleen Barr).
- There will be a song. (Jossed. There was no song).
- Mindy will hog the spotlight (Jossed. Other than Ellen and the DSA scientists, the episode mostly focused on Sean, which is super refreshing).
- Possibilities for "Potatoes on Mars":
- There will be a song. (Confirmed: there were multiple songs)
- "Potatoes" will be going on Jet's list of hilarious Earth words. (Confirmed)
- Possibilities for "Bortron Leprechaun":
- Jet will actually find a leprechaun. (Sort of confirmed; the leprechaun turned out to be Sunspot.)
- "Roy G. Biv" will be mentioned. (Jossed)
- Possibilities for "Who Messed Up the Treehouse?"
- Sydney's project will involve some type of Commander Cressida comic. (Confirmed)
- The episode will deliver a Green Aesop. (Confirmed)
- Possibilities for "Fact or Fiction?"
- The friend who spread the rumor that clouds are made out of cotton candy will be Lillian. (Confirmed)
- Lillian will be shamed for believing such a thing and Mindy will completely get off scot-free, even though Mindy is the one that spreads the rumor according to the episode description. (Luckily jossed. Lillian is treated with respect.)
- The kids will learn what clouds are made of. (Confirmed)
- Possibilities for "Moon Circus":
- The kids will sing "What Goes Up (Must Come Down)" again. (Confirmed)
- Possibilities for "Everyday is Earth Day":
- The episode synopsis mentions that the gang will travel the world to see what makes it so special. Maybe they will go to different countries. I'm guessing Mexico, Australia, and India (maybe Sydney's pen pal, Ahana, will appear). (Jossed)
- There will be a song. (Confirmed)
- All the Earthie characters will appear in this episode: Dr. Rafferty, Dr. Bergs, Dr. Skelley, Mr. Peterson, Mitchell, and Lillian. (Semi-confirmed, all the characters mentioned here appear except for Lillian)
- Possibilities for "Sunspot's Sunspot":
- The clip of Sunspot surfing on flames in the season 2 teaser is from this episode. (Confirmed)
- Sunspot will be Out of Character. (Confirmed, and justified. He's out of character due to the large sunspot on the sun)
- Possibilities for "Our Sun is a Star!":
- Every single nanosecond of this episode will be consumed by you-know-who. Maybe Sydney and Jet will be completely mute for the entire episode, and maybe Lillian won't even appear. (Jossed. Other characters got some screen-time such as Dr. Rafferty and Mitchell and Mr. Peterson and Carrot. Jet and Sydney had lines, and Lillian also appeared)
- A The Office (US)-esque sitcom starring Dr. Rafferty, Dr. Bergs, Dr. Skelley, and Mr. Peterson. "Mini-Golf at the DSA" shows their interesting character dynamic, which would make for an interesting show.
- A continuation for middle-schoolers that teaches about more complex science topics. The characters will also be aged up a bit.
- A spinoff about Mindy, Mitchell, and Lillian.
- A spinoff about life on Bortron 7.

- Sydney was likely born a few years earlier; in "Treasure Map", it's revealed she's old enough to sit in the front seat of a car, meaning she's at least 12.
- Mindy had an Ageless Birthday Episode in "Mindy's Moon Bounce House", but "Mindy Turns Five" takes place one year after that episode, so that means that she turned four in the former episode. Since it premiered in 2016, this means she was born in 2012. (MT5 premiered in 2018, though. Let's just pretend that that episode takes place in 2017).
- In the latter episode, she states that Lillian has been waiting to have a grown-up tea party for so long, which implies that she's older than Mindy (which is ironic, considering that Lillian is noticeably dumber than Mindy). This means that Lillian was born a few months before Mindy, or in 2011.
- Mitchell is very smart for his age and easily towers over both Lillian and Mindy, but because this show has no sense of scale, he is sometimes the same height as them. Whether he is the same age as them and just really tall for his age, or a few years older than him is up for debate. He was likely born somewhere from 2009-2012.
- In "Treasure Map", Mitchell points out that Jet isn't 12 yet. That means that Jet, Sean, and Sydney could all be anywhere from 7 to 11 years old (in Earth years in the case of Jet). Sydney could be older than Jet and Sean because you have to be at least 12 to sit in the front seat of a car.
- It's confirmed that Jet is 10 in Earth years, which means that six Bortronian years make one Earth year. He could be born anywhere from 2004-2006 given the show's Comic-Book Time and how almost none of the characters age. The same goes for Sean and Sydney. 2006 seems most likely because the show premiered in 2016, as well as the maternity leave theory. Logically, Jet, Sean, and Sydney should all be 13 as of "One Small Step", which canonically takes places in 2019, and Mindy should be 7. But this is a cartoon we're talking about.
- As for Sydney sitting in the front of her mom's car, it's probably for the audience's convenience so we could see that she's leaving.
- The kids learn about texture.
- The kids teach Jet about New Year's on Earth.
- There might be an episode about Sally Ride and how she was the first female astronaut in space.
- The characters go to Uranus.
- Jet and the gang are looking back at their favorite songs that they've sung, and look back at the "67 Moons" song. After they find out that Jupiter has 79 moons now, they need to write a new version.
- While the episode was never made, as the show only has two seasons, an updated version was actually written for a public performance at the Cotton Bowl Stadium in 2024. The updated version says "97" instead of "67."
- Face 9001 returns.
- Jet does a "Fantastic Voyage" Plot where he goes inside Sean's body to find out why he gets space-sick all the time.
- The kids teach Jet to read and write Earth words.Jet: It says "My friends are Sydney, Mindy, and" ..."seen". Who's "seen"?Sean: That's me, Jet.Jet: How?! There's no "h"!
- A Mitchell/Sydney episode. So far, there's been a Mitchell/Mindy episode ("Detective Mindy"), a Mitchell/Sean episode ("Eye in the Sky"), and a Mitchell/Jet episode ("Treasure Map"), so it would only make sense to have a Mitchell/Sydney episode to complete the quadfecta (yes, this is an actual word) of episodes starring Mitchell and one of the main characters.
- Since Mitchell constantly says that he has no imagination, and Sydney is the most imaginative character in the show, perhaps the episode can be about her helping him to hone his creative abilities.
- An episode talking about renewable resources.
- I think Carrot should have a Character Development arc where, with the help of Sean, he becomes braver and more willing to go to space.
- An episode about Mercury.
- There should be a Lower-Deck Episode starring Mitchell, Lillian, Dr. Rafferty, Dr. Bergs, Dr. Skelley, and Mr. Peterson. All of the main characters are absent and no mention of them is made.
- Ahana, Sydney's Indian pen pal from "Mindy's Bedtime", should make a physical appearance in an episode.
- There will be a noir episode starring Mitchell.
- Overall, season 3 might be much darker than seasons 1 and 2.
- More episodes with Zucchini, Zerk, Eggplant, Moonbeam, and Face 9001.
- Mindy, Mitchell, and Lillian take a stand against a wasteful clothing company.
- Sean gets some acne on his face. Jet, not understanding human bodies, tries absurd Bortronian methods to remove the zits.
- Jet goes to school with Sean and Sydney for the first time.
- Carrot opens up an Earth restaurant. Jet, Sean, Sydney, Mindy, Mitchell, and Lillian help out with the grand opening and get part-time jobs there.
- An episode about saving energy.
- Yet another musical episode.
- The kids do a science fair project for school.
- Lillian becomes part of the main cast, and the older kids teach her the stuff they already taught Mindy.
- Jet makes a body-swapping machine, and Sean and Sydney swap bodies.
- The beginning of the Season 3 premiere will have the characters sitting around and Jet says that they've been cancelled to make room for other shows.Jet: Everybody, I got bad news. We've been cancelled.Mindy: Oh, no, Jet, how could they do that?Jet: Well, unfortunately, Mindy, there's just no more room on the schedule. We've just gotta accept the fact that PBS has to make room for terrific shows like Dark Angel, Titus, Undeclared, Action, That '80s Show, Wonderfalls, Fast Lane, Andy Richter Controls the Universe, Skin, Girls Club, Cracking Up, The Pitts, Firefly, Get Real, FreakyLinks, Wanda at Large, Costello, The Lone Gunmen, A Minute with Stan Hooper, Normal, Ohio, Pasadena, Harsh Realm, Keen Eddie, The $treet, American Embassy, Cedric the Entertainer, The Tick, Luis, and Greg the Bunny.Sean: Is there no hope?Jet: Well, I suppose if all those shows go down the tubes, we might have a shot.
- There should be an episode making fun of/criticizing cryptocurrency and NFTs because they are bad for the environment, resulting in a Green Aesop.
- They should make an episode about Daylight Savings. In it, the Propulsions learn about Daylight Savings Time and freak out, thinking that someone stole the daylight/the extra hour. This episode will teach about timezones, hemispheres, and of course Daylight Savings.
- An Easter episode where the DSA hosts an Easter egg hunt. It'll teach problem solving and trial-and-error.
- An episode where Celery teaches Sydney how to pilot the saucer.
- Since Lillian was revealed to be Chinese, there should be an episode where the gang celebrates Chinese New Year with her, and learn about the 24 solar terms.
- I want Ahana to make a physical appearance. She was only created to be Pen Pals with Sydney, but maybe Ahana could travel from India to Washington and meet Sydney in person, as well as her friends.
- "Potatoes On Mars / Bortron Leprechaun"
- "Who Messed Up The Treehouse? / Fact Or Fiction?"
- "My Three Suns / Magnet P.I."
- "Sunspot's Sunspot / Our Sun Is A Star!"
- "Astronaut Ellen Ochea"
- "Moon Circus / Everyday Is Earth Day"
- Last, but most certainly not least, "Mars Rock For Mom / Sean Has A Cold"
These are some predictions on when these episodes come out.
- "Potatoes On Mars / Bortron Leprechaun" will come out in March, since it's very likely a St. Patrick's Day episode.
- Confirmed. It will air on March 11.
- We already know "Who Messed Up The Treehouse? / Fact Or Fiction?" comes out in April for Earth month. Maybe it will be part of a bomb, alongside "Moon Circus / Everyday is Earth Day" and a randomly selected third episode.
- Confirmed. Those episodes are part a bomb alongside "Sunspot's Sunspot / Our Sun is a Star!" and "My Three Suns / Magnet PI", which will air from April 15-18.
- Two possibilities for "Mars Rock For Mom / Sean Has A Cold":
- May, since that's when Mother's Day is.
- Sometime in the colder seasons.
- The first one is confirmed. The episodes aired on May 6, 2019.
- Constsntly being stressed out causes him to lose sleep (this seems plausible).
- That giant window makes it too bright for him to sleep.
- He has some kind of recurring nightmare that makes his afraid to sleep.
- Jet would post light-hearted, wholesome stuff and optimistic quotes.
- Sydney would post Commander Cressida fan art.
- Sean would post space and science pictures.
- Mindy would sneak onto Instagram by lying about her birthday. Same goes for Lillian and Mitchell. She would post life hacks.
- Lillian also posts wholesome, innocent stuff.
- Mitchell posts about his conspiracy theories and his first world problems. He doesn't follow Jet, but still checks his profile all the time to find proof that he's an alien.
- Carrot - posts food pictures, cooking tips, and cheesy posts about how much he loves his wife.
- Celery - posts pictures about cars and mechanics. She also reposts mom memes from Facebook, and makes cheesy posts about how much she loves her husband.
- Sunspot - everyone follows him, but he doesn't post anything.
- Dr. Rafferty - also posts science pictures, as well as pictures of birds.
- Dr. Skelley - posts about robots and engineering.
- Dr. Bergs - posts about coffee and his first world problems.
- Mr. Peterson - got banned for getting into too many political debates. Luckily, he has 70 alternative accounts (you get a cookie if you get the reference). Tries to be hip and cool with the kids, but fails.
- Uncle Zucchini posts pictures of how much he loves his job as a garbageman and tries to make the job seem appealing.
- Eggplant posts beauty and makeup pictures.
- Zerk constantly annoys and spams his cousin. He posts pictures of him playing video games.
- Moonbeam posts videos of her guitar covers of various songs.
- The movie will be a musical, just like Back to Bortron 7. (Sorta confirmed. There are lots of songs, but most of them are recycled from previous episodes, namely the Takeoff song, the Commander Cressida song, and "Tiny Blue Dot". However, there is one original song - "Super Saucer", which gets a reprise at the end)
- The special will be Darker and Edgier, with Jet and Sunspot going missing as the result of them being kidnapped. (Jossed. The tone was light-hearted as usual, and it was definitely Lighter and Softer than "Back to Bortron 7". Jet and Sunspot were actually missing because they built a mini-golf course)
- Jet's new boots as shown on the DVD cover were ones he got when he went under a super-powered transformation. (Jossed. The new boots are actually just really old astronaut boots).
- There will be an Award-Bait Song. (Confirmed via Celery's angelic reprise of "Tiny Blue Dot")
- When everyone finds out that Jet and Sunspot are missing, it will be a Tear Jerker. (Jossed. The tone of the scene where everyone finds out that Jet and Sunspot are missing is more panicky than sad)
- Wishful thinking, my friend. Considering the way PBS treats her, Sean will be put in the wrong for not wanting to be bullied any longer.
- Lone Star didn't just travel to Boxwood Territory to look at the stars, but he also came there because he was chased out of his old town. In his old town, the villagers condemned him for his scientific discoveries, accused him of being a witch, and tried to have him lynched a la Town of Salem.
- In "Mindy Pet-sits", Sean is inexplicably eager to go to space and see the Northern Lights. Jet comments that Sean is "almost like a Bortronian". Foreshadowing, maybe?
- They've probably all befriended Celery and Carrot in the same way that their kids befriended Jet, and they're keeping up the charade of not publicizing the Propulsions' alien origins (1) to protect the family from the general public and (2) to help Jet practice keeping a secret, which is evidently a big problem for him.
- It would explain why none of the adults seem to notice the Propulsions' odd behavior or the fact that the Propulsions' van frequently transforms into a spacecraft in the middle of the street in broad daylight. It also explains why the adults don't seem too curious about exactly what kind of animal Sunspot is, and why they don't seem at all surprised that Jet has a working robot, jet pack, and hovercraft.
Zerk promotes a racist/speciesist stereotype of humans in "Whole Lotta Shakin'", saying that humans are bad builders. He also says that Earth having one moon is "weird" in "Back to Bortron 7". Eggplant and Zucchini are super sweet people, so Zerk obviously learned these biases from school.
The question is: what did Earthies ever do to Bortronians?
As Sydney is an active fandom geek, it's very likely she browses Commander Cressida fansites in her spare time. Maybe she encountered Ahana on one of those sites due to their shared interest in the franchise, and started to email each other.
Or, maybe Sydney's school set the students up with pen pals from around the world, and Sydney was assigned Ahana.
Maybe something happened to Zerk's biological father, so Eggplant remarried to Zucchini, hence the different color suits. Zerk is still adjusting to this, and the fact that his new aunt, Celery, lives on Earth, causing him to act out in various ways. This includes him messing with his new cousin, Jet.
