One of Pinky's ancestors was known for being crazy.

The Vietnamese phrase "dien cai dau" translates to "crazy in the head". This became the Vietnam War-era slang "dinky dau" or "dinky-dow", meaning that someone is crazy. Over years the surname was corrupted into "Dinky Doo".
