WMG / PJ Masks

Season Two predictions.
The PJ Masks Wiki mentions how a new villain called Armadillain is planned to be added in the second season. What else could happen? Insert your wild possibilities.
  • The heroes needing to fight a crime at daytime.
  • Origin story episode
  • The reveal of Romeo, Luna Girl, and Night Ninja's civilian forms.
  • Firefly also being added as a villain.
  • Since the PJ Masks will apparently now have a fourth villain to fight, a new PJ Masks member might be added to the team in order to make the fight fair.
    • This one is confirmed, if you count PJ robot as a member. And even more if you consider Armadylan to be one.
      • All other above predictions however are jossed. Maybe more luck in Season 3.

PJ Masks takes place in the same universe as Miraculous Ladybug.
Both series were partly created in France and star youth who transform into masked animal-themed heroes. Plus, who wouldn't want to see Catboy becoming Chat Noir's apprentice?
  • Firefly could easily be the Hawk Moth equivalent.

If a fourth PJ Mask is added to the team...
...Who would be their civilian identity and what would be their motif? A character we already know? A new kid? What exactly could fit alongside a cat, owl, and lizard?
  • I have no idea what the plot is about or how similar or different the books are to the cartoon but one of the picture books is called Les Pyjamasques et les mascrapules. On the cover besides the heroic trio there are three other children in worm, bug(?), and mouse pajamas. Given I am not from France or speak the language I do not own this book but if someone does maybe they could give input on this trio and their exact role. If you have access to the other books for whatever reason that could be useful as well as things to insert for information purposes.
    • Well, there is the book L'école des Pyjamasques which does reveal a new PJ, Tatouro, for the cartoon version (he is renamed Armadylan, there)
  • A new kid will appear and people will assume he's the new PJ but he turns out to be a Red Herring and an already known character will turn out to be the new PJ.
    • Jossed. Armadylan's true identity is unknown, An Yu has no secret identity, and in Newton's case the new kid really was the new hero instead of a red herring.

Armadylan will have a redemption arc.
His concept art has recently surfaced and if this design sticks then he pretty much could pass as a PJ Mask member yet for some reason he's on the side of evil. Season two could have an expanded story on trying to have this new character come to the side of goodness.
  • Jossed; he's not evil, but just arrogant and clumsy. So there's no need for a redemption arc.

Romeo is either in a different class at school or homeschooled.
In the episode where he was editing books to all be about him one of the students in the Masks' class questioned who the heck was in the books. With the fact he uses what might as well be his real name rather than coming up with a more secret identity similar to Night Ninja and Luna Girl alongside how he apparently knows Catboy, Owlette, and Gekko are Conner, Amaya, and Greg he could easily be another close-by neighbor.
  • I have come across a page from one of the books and it does show Romeo as a student in the class. He pretty much looks the way he does as a villain complete with the skunk stripe in his hair. The only difference is similar to when he edited the books he lacks the goggles and does not wear the labcoat.

Catboy / Connor is related to El Tigre / Manny Riviera.
Since Connor is presumably Latino and has a cat motif super persona, like most of the Riviera's, so he could be a Riveria or at the very least a distant relative to them.

Luna Girl is an alien.
It makes perfect sense! Her luna powers, her technology, her connection to the moths, her hair, her obsession with the moon, EVERYTHING!

If the werewolf kids indeed appear on the show, they will become the show's equivalent of Jekyll & Hyde
According to Wikipedia, season 2 will introduce a new villain group named the Werewolf kids. This would offer a great chance to introduce a new kind of villain. Villains with 2 seperate personalities, who can be on friendly (or at the very least neutral) terms with the heroes during the day, but hostile towards them during the night. They may even know about their villainous alter-ego's, and hate themselves for it.
  • The season 2 sneak peek confirms that the Werewolf Kids will appear on the show, but their exact relationship with the PJ Masks is unknown at the moment.
    • Sadly Jossed, as the Wolfy Kids only appear during the night just like the other Nighttime Villians. Another wasted opportunity.

Armadylan used to be a PJ Mask but was booted.
According to the PJ Masks Wiki, his debut episode's title is "Meet Armadylan" which indicates that he has a history with the PJ Masks, and since he is also an Animal Themed Super Being, this seems to make the most sense.
  • Two new clips featuring Armadylan have shown up, that show him, among other things, fighting Romeo along with the masks, but he's clearly very reckless and clumsy, causing more problems than he solves. If those clips are from a flashback, this WMG could be confirmed.
    • Jossed, he's a new character who wants to be a PJ Mask, but is unfit to be one.

Alternatively, Armadylan is a new character who wants to join the PJ masks and is at first allowed to, but is quickly kicked off the team again because he is too reckless
Hence why he wants revenge from then on.
  • Half confirmed/half jossed. He is indeed a new character who wants to be a hero, but there is no revenge. He's just very hotheaded and clumsy.

When Armadylan and the Werewolf Kids first appear, the PJ Masks will somehow already know them.
It's clear by now that PJ Masks is a show that can't really be bothered with properly introducing new characters and other elements. First the show started without any Origins Episode for the heroes or villains, and then in "Wacky Floats" the heroes suddenly turned out to have new powers and a new Robot Buddy, neither of which was given even so much as a handwave. If this trend continues, the show will treat the new villains as if the Masks already know them from a previous encounter, even though said encounter was never shown in an episode.
  • I may have jumped to conclusions too soon. PJ Robot and the new powers did get introduction episodes after all, they just aired Out of Order.
    • Jossed for the Wolfy Kids, the PJ Masks meet them for the first time in their debut episode.
    • Also Jossed for Armadylan.

Luna Girl is an albino.
It makes sense, her white hair, pale skin, her constantly stating she's unable to go to or do daytime activities, and cringing when Bastet blasts her with her Sun Disc.

There will be an episode where the PJ Masks will have to face all of their villains.
Because all superhero shows should have one of those.
  • "Halloween Tricksters" came pretty close to this, with Luna Girl, Night Ninja and the Wolfies all teaming up. Only Romeo was absent (and Armadylan, though this depends on how much you consider him to be a villain).
  • If rumors are true, the upcomming episode "Romecoaster" will feature all villains. As will the season 2 finale, "PJ Masks vs. Bad Guys United".
    • Sadly, they are not true. "Romeo Coaster" has all villains in it, but only Romeo is causing trouble while the others are forced into an Enemy Mine situation with the heroes, and "PJ Masks vs. Bad Guys United" didn't have the Wolfies in it.
    • The season 3 episode "The Moon Prix" also has all the villains in it; but they, along with the PJ Masks, participate in some Wacky Racing in which they are as much competing with each other as they are with the heroes.

It's all just one huge game.
Nothing is actually at stake. Because really, how could Romeo, a kid, hope to topple the world's governments?

Hence it's all just pretend. We're seeing their imaginations.

  • There's actually a good amount of evidence to support this. Like how the city is always deserted at night. What kind of modern city is completely shut down at night? And it always goes directly into nighttime as soon as the masks realize something hinky is going on. For a more specific example, on at least one occasion, they go to the moon. While there, they run and jump as if they're still under Earth's gravity. It all points to a bunch of kids playing a game.
    • In the episode "Moonbreaker" Catboy actually did float a bit in his confrontation with Romeo, and seems to possess the strength one would get from lesser gravity.
  • There are a lot of episodes where there are elements of the plot that can't happen in a game.
    • In "Romeo's Disguise", everyone would know about Romeo capturing Owlette and Romeo swapping places if it were a game. To give an analogy, the players could have little action figures to represent them in the(RPG-styled)game. Romeo could have 3-D printed another Owlette figure, and in the game captured Owlette and replaced her. But everyone would be able to see Romeo playing as Owlette instead of Amaya.
    • In "The Wolfy Kids", how would the P Js not realize there were new players in their game? It's their game, anyone who wants to join must be invited probably.

The city the heroes live in is a part of a dictatoric state.
Think of it: no one apart from the kids is seen in the city. This could be the result of a curfew imposed by the state's dictator. The villains are also a tool in his hands, because as long as their little game is going on, nobody will notice if anything is wrong. The Masks are also unaware of it.

The upcomming character An Yu is connected to Night Ninja and/or Mystery Mountain
Season 3 will introduce yet another hero; a samurai girl named Anyu. Since samurai and ninja are both Japanese, and Mystery Mountain is also clearly Japanese in design, there's a good chance they're all connected. Possible scenario's:
  • Anyu is an old adversary of Night Ninja who finally tracks him down again in season 3
    • Jossed. They meet first the first time in An Yu's debute episode.
  • An Yu is related to Night Ninja
    • Jossed, they share no history.
  • An Yu is the defender of Mystery Mountain (but was absent in season 2 for some reason)
    • Confirmed. She even calls herself the defender of Mystery Mountain. And the reason she didn't appear before is because she was trapped in the dragon gong.

Theories about the new villains
Rumor has it season 3 will introduce 2 new villains: Big Red - A giant red creature, andMoth Girl - A moth-like girl who has a wings like a moth.
  • Big Red will become the show's Knight of Cerebus. Possibly even the Big Bad whom the other villains answer to.
    • This has become unlikely with the reveal that Big Red's name is actually The Splat Monster. So he's connected with Night Ninja. He could still become Night Ninja's boss though, but more likely will he become The Dragon for him.
      • Partly confirmed; when he becomes the Splat Monster, Teeny Weeny acts as Night Ninja's primary enforcer and is notably more dangerous than the other villains, but he's not afraid to go against his master either.

  • Moth Girl will be Luna Girl's right hand, or at least be connected to her.
    • Confirmed.

  • Moth Girl is what Motsuki will eventually become
    • In "Moon Madness", Luna Girl decides to get herself a henchman by giving one of her moths some powers, and a name; Mothzuki. These changes are not reverted by the end of the episode, so we likely see Mothzuki again from now on. Who'se to say that Luna Girl won't eventually give Mothzuki more powers and even a more humanoid appearance, thus creating Moth Girl?
      • Confirmed as of "Moth on the Moon". Although she keeps her name Motsuki, not Moth Girl.

  • Octobella will become Gekko's arch enemy
    • Due to her being a water-themed villain, since Gekko is the "sea" of the PJ Mask's Land, Sea, Sky trio.
      • Confirmed. She hates Gekko because he stole "her" Power Pondweed, and tries to replace him as Catboy and Owlette's friend.

Night Ninja's powers originate from Mystery Mountain (even though he himself doesn't know this)
As stated with the above WMG, Mystery Mountain's Japanese appearance perfectly fits with Night Ninja. Plus, Mystery Mountain is a source of Sticky Splat (which sometimes erupts from geysers), which Night Ninja and his Ninjalino's have been using as a weapon since before any of the characters even knew about Mystery Mountain.
  • It's a possibility as it's revealed that in the episodes "Meet An Yu", "The Splat Monster" and "Clash On Mystery Mountain" show that Sticky Splats appear throughout Mystery Mountain, and Night Ninja steals/uses the Dragon Gong in the episodes "The Dragon Gong", "Meet An Yu" and "Clash On Mystery Mountain", which has a symbol of Mystery Mountain at the top.

Luna Girl's parents want to make a "perfect kid" out of her.
Perhaps, she has good grades at all the school subjects, attends many additional courses and is overall a very obedient girl, but doesn't want to be like this. But when she received her moon powers, she finally got a chance to be herself, though only at night. This could explain some things! Her inability to participate in daytime activities? She isn't allowed to play with other kids because she has to spend all the time studying. The Card-Carrying Villain tendencies? She is forced to be a nice girl, so she likes the feeling of misbehaving.

The show will at least try to incorporate some more of the books' supporting characters into the show.
As stated on the Western Animation page, Les Marscrapules and Energuman are missing from the series, and these are recurring characters for the books. And the show has only adapted about 10 characters from the book(not counting all the Ninjazouaves as Ninjalinos).
  • I even have a perfect adaptation name for the character called Lilifée: Snow Angel.
    • Doesn't seem like it. There are four new characters announced for Season 4, but, with the exception of Pharaoh Boy, who is most likely Apophis, none of them are from the books.
    • But, Season 5 is apparently bringing in Orticia, a character who actually does come from the book!

Luna Girl and Motsuki will go through a Heel–Face Turn either later on this season or in season 5
Luna's teamed up more with the PJ's more than any other villain in the entire show, has shown to have a softspot for all of them (so much to the point with Gekko it started Foe Yay Shipping in the fandom), and Motsuki's also shown to not be against teaming up with the heroes when the situation calls for it. It really feels like it's only a matter of time!

The Ninjalino's are related to the Minions.
They are not humans, but a race of small, humanoid creatures that speak in their own language and serve a villain.

Newton's jumpsuit is how he gets his powers
He's more on the science fiction spectrum compared to the more somewhat mystical PJ Masks and especially An Yu, and it's not like having a suit that gives you powers hasn't been done before.
  • I think it's more likely his powers come from the amulet/device on his chest. He can sometimes be seen touching it before using his powers.
    • Actually, the episode "Luna Kazoomer" shows his powers come from his six asteroids. He lost his powers when he gave them up during his 10-Minute Retirement, and to get his powers back he had to ask Gekko to throw him into space so he could reconnect with the asteroids.

Mystery Mountain is the reason the city is a Weirdness Magnet
The fact that there is a portal to a magical mountain in another dimension right in the middle of the city is the reason so many weird things happen in the city; children having superpowers, powerful artifacts that are hidden in the city or always happen to be send to the museum in this city, and for some reason no adults that ever notice the weirdness.

The show will get a Lower-Deck Episode focussing on Armadylan, An Yu and Newton
For some reason, the 3 main heroes are taken out of action, forcing the 3 supporting heroes to form an additional team to save the day.
  • Kinda confirmed, but with Newton Star and the 3 PJ Pets instead in the episode "Newton and the animals".

We're finally going to see an origin story in Season 5
  • It says that the season will focus on the team learning more about their totem powers. Now would be the perfect time.
Perhaps the totem was corrupted by Mystery Mountain, and the then-normal Masks somehow got their powers from the corruption. As for the villains, only Luna Girl was around there at the tine of the corruption the others simply being bullies who decided to go there because they wanted to use their powers to commit crimes solely For the Evulz (this includes Luna Girl, but only motivation-wise, as mentioned above).
  • Jossed. I think it's safe to say now that the PJ's origin will never get addressed in the series.

The PJ Pets will eventually become those giant animals seen on the season 5 poster
They already received powers of their own, so this could be a logical next step. Just like how Motsuki went from a regular moth, to a powered moth, to the humanoid moth girl she is now.
  • Jossed; they are the PJ's spirit animals, released from the crystal totem.

The reason for Armadylan's absence for all of Season 5...
Since it's confirmed he'll be returning in Season 6, maybe the reason he was gone for so long was because he was doing some special training so that he can finally prove himself to be a hero.
