- Synopsis: When Amaya and Romeo are both selected to take place in a school-wide science fair, things are obviously tense between the two—and yet it's perhaps unsurprising that they forge a sort of strange friendship as they're forced to work together. Romeo developing a crush on Amaya, however? Yeah, THAT'S unexpected.
- Comments: Can pass for a general fic, but nevertheless explores Romeo/Amaya shipping. Well written, and it provides an interesting look in how the heroes and villains interact when not fighting each other at night.
First Night by Bouken Dutch 2.0

- Synopsis: Connor, Greg and Amaya are just regular kids. But when Connor's father is abducted, a strange stone box he brought home and it's content transform the 3 into something more. Now gifted with superpowers and on their first night as heroes, they have to save not just Connors dad, but soon the whole city.
- Comments: Making up for the jarring lack of Origin Story for the PJ Masks is Bouken Dutch 2.0's "First Night": A very well written oneshot with great pacing, emotions, action and including the heroes' first encounter with Romeo, though he is not the Big Bad. One of the best.

- Synopsis: After a mission gone wrong completely shatters Catboy's faith in his teammates, an encounter with Romeo ends in disaster, leaving them to think he's perished. Later, Owlette and Gekko are investigating a new hero in town. A violent new hero who doesn't hold his punches against the nighttime villains and seems to have a huge grudge against the PJ Masks.
- Comments: A much darker take on the PJ Masks than you would ever see in the actual show, with Connor slowly descending into becoming a violent anti-hero after being severely injured during a mission and then taken captive and tortured by Romeo.
When a Cat Loves an Owl by cdbazemore98

- Status: Complete with a complete sequel
- Synopsis: For a while, Connor has been having some feelings for his good friend, Amaya, especially since they became heroes in the night. But when Amaya gets kidnapped by Night Ninja, who has also taken interest in her, Connor (As Catboy), along with Greg (As Gekko), must save her. Will the two remaining PJ Masks rescue their friend? Will Connor reveal his true feelings for Owlette?
- Comments: While much darker than canon could ever show (what with Amaya suffering severe Domestic Abuse while in Night Ninja's clutches that leaves her with bad PTSD), it's a good story and the Connor/Amaya shipping is handled well, never eclipsing Greg and Amaya's Like Brother and Sister dynamic.
