Cooper looks really good for his supposed age, and Carlisle was also a doctor. Due to the weather of New York, we never see him in direct sunlight which is why no sparkles. Cooper is a really good doctor like Carlisle when he's not Distracted by the Sexy. Any incompetence on his part is part of a cover so he doesn't get too famous. As for his mothers, that's a cover story. They're vampires in on the whole deal. Or maybe they really were his mothers from long ago, and are vampires as well. Which explains why a grown man had such a strong reaction - a marriage that lasted centuries suddenly ending is a big deal. The baby pictures on his computer were cover stories. Since he's so old he has much more control than Edward which is why he can have sex with Roman without killing her. The goatee was fake.As for his desperation for family, it has been a while since Twilight ended. Maybe the Cullen's split up/were killed for one reason or another. Which actually supports this theory. His clinginess and creep factor were similar to Edward's behavior.
Jackie survives but has her nursing license stripped forever
The creators never mentioned whether or not her overdose was fatal but did mention that she will never be a nurse again.
