Mona was the inspiration for Opal's design from the 2020 short film of the same name.
- Think about it, both have large beady eyes, very little hair except for 2 pigtails on each side of their heads, a really wide mouths and similar red dresses. They also have a lack of coherent English (although Opal/Claire is completely non-verbal due to neglect and abuse, Mona's is simply a case of The Unintelligible).
Nana used to dye her hair.
It would explain her appearance in the original shorts. Mr. Wooka has an adult son named Mr. Wilkins
It could explain the differences in Mr. Wooka's design and name in the pilot episode. As for the puppet shows that Mr. Wilkins does just like Mr.Wooka? Puppeteers run in the family.
