Kalen didn't die in a car accident, the demon possessing Diana killed him
- The demon already revealed that she was contracted to kill Camille, her sister, and her mother. Likely this was because someone wanted them dead for mixing Leroux and Severin blood. In the flashback, it's implied to have been recently that Kalen died, so who's to say the demon didn't kill him first and then went after the rest of the family?
- Jossed. In the flashback that Athalie has as she is about to be eaten by the LaCour Matriarch's familiar, the expression she has when she learns from Abrielle about Kalen seems to confirm she had nothing to do with his death as she seems genuinely shocked at the news and even tries to reach out to her sister in sympathy as Abrielle cries. She ultimately withdraws her attempt before it is noticed however but the point still stands.

Athalie killed Camille's mother and sister
- This is pretty popular theory, bith in and out of universe. Athalie hates every principle her sister stood for, and isn't above emotionally, and as Avaline will tell you physically abusing her family. It's revealed that what killed Camille's family was the demon posessing Diana Eloi, and some of Camille's memories of that night reveal it's true form had bird-like talons, so it seems like a demon a Severin could summon. None of the other characters we've been introduced to seem to wish Camille harm. There's just a few problems with that. One is that while Athalie hated Abrielle's values, she seems to have had a level of respect for her sister's talent and power as a witch. There's also the fact that since the fire, even though she's abusive and neglectful, Camille was at the bare minimum able to reach adulthood under Athalie's care. If Athalie was the one who summoned the demon, why keep Camille safe from it for 13 years?
- Some have suggested the fact that the demon was sealed in the greenhouse the entire time due to having been weakened may have something to do with it. Athalie clearly hates being anywhere near her sister's home, so it's likely she just didn't know it was still there and couldn't be summoned again.
- AND CONFIRMED. Athalie sacrificed Avaline's sister at birth to send the demon after her sister and nieces.
The Sevrin family's founder intentionally cursed her descendants to worship the Cain and Abel dynamic
- It's almost official that the Severin family magically enforced their bloodline to only spawn twins. So far in the comic, every set of Sevrin twins that lived to puberty has had one reasonable, well-adjusted daughter and one viciously abusive sociopath. It has been confirmed that the Sevrin founder was a tyrant seductress who seized control of Hell itself through the bedchambers; what if she wanted to ensure her heirs would always be as ruthless and unrelenting as her?
Camille needs two familiars to balance out her magic.
- What if Athalie's sick discovery of the truth behind a familiar's purpose to a witch is correct? If so, if that knowledge gets passed to Camille, Athalie would have indirectly and ironically help the niece she's been trying to harm, mute and kill this entire time.
- Jossed, as Camille just needed to undergo a magic balancing ritual.
Avaline will start a new, better and healthier Severin Tradition.
- Chances are, she's going to likely become a matriarch since her mother is clearly not suited for the job especially after being responsible for murdering a part of her family and thensome, if it doesn't go to Silvia (doubting it'll go to Solphia). As Avaline seems to be doing the opposite of her ancestor. She's genuinely romantically interested in Raum and vice versa, #1 and #2 she gave him back the treasure her ancestor stole years ago (even then, she gave him a fancy jewel, not any jewel from her box) and while it isn't the rest of the riches, Avaline isn't a full on gold digger (as a reminder, her mother was pushing that onto her).
- Confirmed, as at the end of the story, she becomes the Severin Matriarch after a year's time and is working to continue her late aunt's in establishing healthy and positive relationships with the other witch families, working to abolish the toxic family traditions.
